  1. Correct. If any of those outcomes are different, we still are in it. The wild card, however, is a long shot. We need Atlanta to beat Minny. Peace
  2. Agreed 100%. I see Booker and Lloyd both leaving. We do not want to have to replace 3 receivers next yr. Davis is a very good receiver and will be kept for special teams and 5th receiver. Peace
  3. Nope. Pulled this from Briggs article earlier in the week: If all of the following occurs, the Bears will be playing for 2009 come Monday: Dallas defeats Baltimore on Saturday night Minnesota defeats Atlanta on Sunday; wins NFC North Tampa Bay defeats San Diego on Sunday Philadelphia defeats Washington on Sunday So it is entirely possible Monday nights game will be meaningless. Peace
  4. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear19.article I think he will be a head coach in the next 5 yrs. Peace
  5. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bsep19.article As for the TD escalator, I can think of at least 3 dropped TD passes (Hester against Philly, Booker against Minny, and Clark against NO). Further Clark fumbled on the 1 yd line against Minny and it was recovered in the endzone by Davis. Peace
  6. I would like the following: - Bring in a veteran QB (Collins or Garcia fit the bill) - Bring in a veteran receiver (TJ would be great) - Bring in a veteran free safety (no idea who at this point) Draft o-line and d-line. Peace
  7. Booker is most likely gone but Davis will stay as a 5th receiver, special teams expert. Lloyd is likely gone. He is in the coaches doghouse. Hester has improved especially over the last few games which is a good going into next yr. Kyle has definately missed him a couple of times on deep balls but he also dropped a sure touchdown against Philly earlier this yr. Bennett has the build to be a Hines Ward type. The coaching staff just needs to get him on the field. Peace
  8. Not printed but when he was recovering from his injury, he delared that he wouldn't play until he was 100%. Then he declared he was healthy enough to play and the coaches kept him on the bench for another week. My interpretation - he pissed off the coaching staff with his statements. He will not be back. Peace
  9. Will be there as well. Section 359, row 13. Stop by if you get a chance. Peace

I agree - s happens. I was just noting it can happen any time. Further, I agree lose the game and go to a skills competition. Make it a celebration of the NFL - for the fans to enjoy. Peace

Remember Robert Edwards? He was a rookie rb for the Patriots who was invited to participate in a rookie flag football game in Hawaii. Tore his knee up and was never the same. Peace
  12. If we had franchised him, I doubt the Vikings take him and we would have had him for 8 million this yr. Peace

The only other player I believe deserves it is Maynard. He leads the league with punts inside the 20. Peace
  14. Die Hard or Before the Devil Knows Your Dead or both??? Peace
  15. 2 big keys this weekend. Altanta beating Minny and Carolina beating NY. If NY loses 3 in a row, Coughlin will be extra pissed and will not go into Minny to play it safe. Peace
  16. Name: Jay Hometown: Normal, Illinois Hobbies: Golf, Movies, my family Job: Business Analyst What College you go to/went to: Illinois State University Do you play video games? If so, which ones: Nope Favorite Movie: Die Hard Favorite Teams (Non NFL): Cubs, Bulls, Bradley Braves Favorite Food: Pizza Favorite Actor: Tom Hanks Favorite Actress: Marissa Tomei (watch - Before the Devil Knows Your Dead) Age: 43
  17. Great to hear. Watch out - they grow up fast. My oldest is almost in high school. I am definately not ready for that. Peace
  18. Bowlingtwig - good to hear from you. Hope all is well. How is the baby doing? Peace
  19. Well, we may have 2 thirds this yr (if we get the compensation for Berrian we all are hoping for). We could use the 1st third and offer one for next yr. That being said, I would still prefer to get a FA and keep our picks. Peace
  20. Sweet justice. Then he can also miss the first 4 games of next yr as well. Peace
  21. Agreed 100%. I don't necessarily have an issue with Devin in the mix. Davis, Lloyd, and Booker are the problem. Peace
  22. You could look at total yds per game: Forte 109.9 Jones 99.9 Point being, you can spin stats anyway you want. Forte is a rookie. This is Jones 9th yr in the league. I'll take Forte. Peace
  23. Basically we need to win the division. Wild card is a long, long shot. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2008/12/be...ion_goes_c.html Peace
  24. I like to compare TJ as a rook to Forte as rook. In doing so, there is no comparison as TJ didn' have his first 1000 yd season until he was with the Bears some 5 yrs into his career. Further, TJ was a top 10 pick. Forte a second rounder. Don't get me wrong - I like TJ. However, it took him several yrs to establish himself in the league. Forte is there in yr one. Peace
  25. Something fishy is going on? Sorry, but this is pro football not Chicago politics. Maybe it is as simple as AA had a fire lit under his arse from sitting on the bench so long. Now that he has the chance, he is playing like a man who doesn't want go to back to the bench. Peace
