  1. "Alex Brown has earned the right to start for this and any other team that wants him. He put up with being demoted in favor of a 1st year sack specialist before training camp began. He waited his time on the bench, knew he was being paid to play and did what he was asked to do when called to do it. When he was asked to start for the team, he played for a team with nothing to play for at an All-Pro level. He defined the word "Professional" for me. I'm normally opposed to this, but if someone wants to throw him a bonus, I'd not be opposed at all." I agree he played very well. I would like him to stop his whining now. I would not give him a bonus as it sets a bad precedent (sp?). I would tell Alex and Mark there will be open competition for the position this yr. "Devin Hester's sh*t does not stink. Redo his contract ASAP so you can enjoy the benefit of seeing #23 jerseys sold everywhere, often." Disagree. He has 2 yrs left on his contract and we have too many issues to address in the offseason to give him money now. Typically, you renegotiate with 1 yr left. He will get his money then. "Related to the last point--and this came to me as I typed that point--redo Dave Toub's contract NOW! Show the world what you think of great coaching. His smarts are not diminishing unlike some other guys I've mentioned. Maybe some of these other guys will get the point, and you'll attract more bees with honey." His contract was renegotiated last yr. I would simply make him an asst head coach (giving him a bump in pay) so another team cannot snag him unless they want him for head coach. He is, hands down, the best coach on our roster and he will be a head coach someday. Peace
  2. As much as I love AP, once he got the starting job his production went way, way down. He really looked no different than Cedric. I really believe the Bears will bring in another RB this yr for competition. Peace
  3. I believe it was Marty Booker. Peace
  4. Don't forget Boone, Worrell, and Johnson. Hopefully, they can add up to 1 or 2 supplemental picks (most likely no higher than 6th round). Peace
  5. With Porter and Walker coming available, Berrian is no longer the top FA on the market. Should make it very interesting. Peace
  6. I agree - you keep both. You have no idea what you have from Bazuin. Peace
  7. Keep 4 Rb and 1 FB. Have a FB on the practice squad just in case. Get rid of McKie as we need a blocking FB (like Richardson from Minny). Peace
  8. I love Mike Brown but he has absolutely zero trade value. If kept on the roster, they must bring in someone as a contingency plan. He cannot be the only option. Peace
  9. Player I was thinking of was Lawyer Milloy. Peace
  10. Agreed that players can be greedy bastards. Disagree about the Pats. Just look at Deon Branch and Asante Samuel. Branch held out and was traded. Samuel held out as well for some time this yr. Didn't they have a safety a few yrs back that ended up being traded to Buffalo because he was bitching about his contract? I can't remember his name but I remember he wasn't happy about his contract. Peace
  11. Good stuff on Brown today. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...bside31.article Statement that really bothers me: Brown signed a five-year extension in 2004 with a base value of $11 million, a deal he's also not happy with. What made his overtures last offseason somewhat surprising was the fact his agent, Joel Segal, has a close relationship with general manager Jerry Angelo. It was Angelo who met running back Thomas Jones' request for a trade last March after he waited a year. ''We'll definitely talk to him again,'' Brown said. ''If he feels that is what is best for the team, that's what we'll do. If not, he'll do something else. I've played at a level where I deserve more than what I'm making now. I don't really know what is going to happen, though.'' You signed the deal, Alex. No one forced you. I respect your honesty but you have a contract with 2 yrs left on it. The Bears hold all the cards in this negotiation. They are not going to re-negotiate your contract with 2 yrs left and they are not going to trade you unless they get what they want in a trade. Peace

Des Clark is not a FA. He has 1 yr left on his deal. In regards to trading Benson, I do not believe you can trade someone while injured (they have to pass a physical). Peace
  13. Agreed - Bounce-a-check is a drillrod. Peace

Bradley needs to hold onto the damn ball. The drop today was inexcusable. Peace
  15. No change in coordinators in the offseason. Further, he said he sees Hester being a #1 receiver in the future. Peace

Just doesn't seem logical since they beat us head to head twice but I get it. Peace
  17. I am talking about the politics of the award. MVP most always come from a winning team. Peace

I don't get it. They beat us twice and yet they pick in front of us. How the hell does that happen???? Peace
  19. Not for a team that finishes 7-9. He had a great yr. Still can't believe they kick to him. Peace
  20. I would disagree. Ogy have just signed a deal for over 33 million with us the yr before. We signed Brown for less than half of that. I do remember that much of the money was up front and that is why I was against trading him when he asked. Peace
  21. Connorbear replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
Does Detroit pick before us??? Peace
  22. I wouldn't call his contract huge. I think he signed a 5 yr, $15 million deal which is very reasonable for someone who is a starting DE in this league. Peace
  23. Why aren't we running the ball???? Is it that hard???? Peace
  24. This is were we should finish them. Peace
  25. Well, he definately looks like he could be an every down back. Wasn't he in our camp 2 yrs ago???? Peace
