  1. More concerning to me is the quality of the drops. I can think of quickly 3 dropped TD passes (Berrian against Dallas, Hester against NY, and Moose against GB). These were killers. We cannot leave plays like these on the field. Peace
  2. Got to hear Williams on Bears All Access on the SCORE last night. I was fairly impressed. Interesting note is he learned how to study game film in high school from his high school coach and he prides himself on game preperation. Peace

You really think Berrian is even better than this guy? And you're calling Crayton marginal? I have watched him and he is alot more physical than Berrian. Berrian has more speed but suspect hands is the equalizer. I would definately say yes but I really don't think you can compare the two. The primary reasons are the Cowboys have consistent QB play (Romo) and a running game. The Bears offense is a mess. Really the issue is what is his value. I don't believe I can answer that at this time. Angelo has a tough offseason ahead. I do not envy him. Peace
  4. for next yr from the Suntimes. Not sure if I agree with everything they are proposing but they do cover most. Interesting note is that Fred Miller has played all year with a partial torn MCL. Why the hell was this never mentioned????? Not saying that changes my opinion on what should happen with him going forward (he needs to go), but at least we know now there were other concerns. Also, Moose 3.3 million cap value next yr - no thanks. Get him out of here. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear28.article Peace

  6. I don't think Riddeau will play over Hass this yr. I doubt either will play Sunday. Just a way to get Riddeau under contract before the offseason. Peace

Give him the 2nd lowest tag. He is valuable enough as a Special Teams players to keep around for 1.5 million next yr. No one will give us a 2nd for him. Peace

I believe Rasheed is a RFA. He will most likely be back for next yr but you really don't want him as one of your top 2 receivers. Peace
  9. Riddeau resigned per the SCORE. Peace

I really don't see Gage and Wade as decent receivers. I see them as the best in 2 crappy receivers groups. Engram was cut so the Bears could sign Marcus Robinson to a long term deal and that was over six yrs ago. Booker facilitated getting Ogy which, overall, has been worth it. BTW - I wish we still had Engram. He is a great possession receiver which is what we need. Peace
  11. "95 Adams, Anthony* NT - Meh. I could care less. I am sure a good fourth rounder could replace him" Disagree. He played very well this yr and provided good depth. "20 Archuleta, Adam SS - Meh. If it doesn't hurt the cap too much, he might have to leave" Disagree. Get him the hell out of here. He is being payed to play safety and cannot. "60 Metcalf, Terrence G - Meh. Hopefully he'll play better" Disagree. Has shown nothing in six years. Get him out of here. "99 Walker, Darwin NT - Stays. Good backup" Not unless he is willing to completely renogiate his contract since he is do a 5.2 million dollar roster bonus in March. You don't pay that type of money to a backup. Otherwise, I basically agree. You may have to keep Griese if you cannot sign Grossman (who knows with the crappy QB play what the market will be. Peace
  12. Rough season for the Bears from an injury standpoint. He will be the 13th player put on IR. I think they lost over 60 starts to injury this yr as compared to low 20s last yr. Obviously, injury was not the primary reason for the Bears downfall this yr (coaching, personnel moves, inept play) but it did play a part. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...earnt27.article Peace

Agreed Moose needs to go (especially if Berrian is resigned). We have no idea what the hell Bradley can do after 3 yrs (this is disturbing). Rasheed is a nice special teams player who is at best a 4th or 5th receiver - no way to compare him to Welker. We have no idea what we have in Hass. I would love to see him play but to say the Bears should have cut Moose to play him is a bit absurd. If anything, they should have given him Rasheed's reps for a few games. Please don't mention Gage or Wade in the same statement with Engram. They are average receivers on bad receiving cores. Engram has over 550 career receptions and has been in the league for over 10 yrs. They can't hold his jock. Peace
  14. See above in the thread. NO would have to have twice the average of offensive snaps for him not to get 75%. Peace
  15. I read somewhere that Briggs currently has well over 75%. If he sat out this game, New Orleans will need to run 112 offensive plays for him to go under 75%. Peace
  16. this weekend per the SCORE. Personally, I would rather give Williams the reps and have Lance take a seat. Peace
  17. Understood. I just don't think this is a big deal. Not sure why I keep adding to this post. Peace
  18. He was defensive rookie of the yr. He won the defensive player of the yr award. He has been selected to the pro-bowl 6 times. He has received the accolades (sp?). Ask Brian and I bet he will tell you he would rather be in the playoffs this yr. Peace
  19. Noots - great to hear from you. Couple of responses: "2. Moose if finished. That ball hit him squarely in the hole of the top part of his 8 on his jersey." Agreed. Unfortunately if we do not resign Berrian it could mean we have to keep Moose 1 more yr. "7. The Coaches need to reassess Alex Brown's situation as well as their defensive philosophy, as the increased ass girth that the new Toewiener guy provided arrived at exactly the same time that Urlacher's play suddenly went off the charts again. That big arse tackle's play has had a ripple effect on the rest of the defense." Got to agree. Keeping the blockers off of Url and all of a sudden he looks fantastic. I am hoping the coaching staff shows some flexibility and adjusts the scheme to the talent. "10. Jamar Williams played a bunch and made some impact plays at and behind the LOS. That's huge. Heck, even Hillenmeyer played well." Lovie said he only played 16 snaps on defense with 5 tackles and 1 defended pass - pretty damn good. Sit Briggs this week and play Williams again. "11. I dunno if McGowan is a starter for us next year, but he's making enough plays to deserve a shot and at the very least remain on our roster." McGowan will definately be back as a back up and a special teams standout with the opportunity to start. Pretty good for an undrafted FA. Peace
  20. Nice post - I agree with everything but - "On the line, we got Tommies deal staring us in the face after next year so we gotta take that into account whatever we do with Briggs, Berrian, Hester and Rex this year. Tommie is gonna require and boatload of money." We do have several holes to fill so I don't think there is anyway we address Hester this offseason. Besides, he still has 2 yrs left on his deal. I think Briggs is gone and I believe that Angelo will concentrate on the offensive side of the ball in the offseason. Further, I agree - get a safety in either round 1 or 2 (take best of OT, S in top 2 rounds). Peace
  21. to everyone. Please be safe. Peace
  22. I agree with Drunkbomber on this. If he is anywhere near 75% of the snaps you do not tag him (especially if he is sitting because of injury). You do not walk to create an issue. Take the compensatory pick next yr. Peace
  23. Great to see you have made it the site. "It should be obvious to everyone by now that top-10 draft picks are never a guaranteed success. The Bears have certainly had their fair share of busts. McNown? Benson? Colombo (yeah, I know he's starting for Dallas now, but as far as the Bears are concerned, he was a bust)." Just to point out, McNown was the 11th pick in the draft, Benson is not a bust yet (most likely), and Columbo was the 31st pick in the draft. I agree with you overall premise that top ten picks tend to bust out as much or more than succeed. Just look at Enis and Terrell as good examples from the Bears. "Our tendency to settle for field goals cost us games 3 straight games, against the Giants, Redskins and Vikings, and in those games the defense that so many of us had given up on all but dominated (how you lose games with a +4 and +3 turnover ratio is beyond my ability to grasp). It's time Bears fans stopped settling for offensive (and i use that word loosely) mediocrity." Most definately. The Bears must concentrate on improving the offense in the off season. I think the defense will bounce back into at least the top half of the league next yr with a healthy Harris, Url (fingers crossed), and Vasher (even if Briggs leaves). We need to get the offense up into the top half as well. Peace
  24. How the hell did we lose to the Vikings last week?????? Damn, damn, damn!!!! Peace
