Trade the Bears 1R pick for Khalil Mack?
I agree, you may only rush one but which side is coming? If they both can play equally well against run, pass, and blitzing, then that is a bonus. I don't like the possible cost of draft picks. We just got out of hell from years of trading them for upgrades. Would Mack elevate the Bears to a top 5 team?

Hall of Fame game
Here is my take, the top 5 are in, the battle is at 6. 1. Robinson 2. Gabriel 3. Miller 4. White 5. Wims 6. Bellamy/Fowler/Gentry Bellamy has looked better catching and a ST standout, but a complete douche bag. Fowler has not had a good showing so far. Gentry - Still growing as a player, does he have a higher ceiling? As for ST standouts, it is time some of the younger DBs drafted shine here, like DeAndre Houston-Carson. He was supposed to be an ace on STs. Bush/Hall also.

Hall of Fame game
Javon Wims WR with a heck of a game. They won't be able to stash him on the PS. Fitts and Irving OLB made some noise getting after the QB. Lynch needs to get healthy. I would like to see him resurrect his career and solidify the position. Bullard and RRH played well at DT also. Both are fighting for the starting title.
- It appears this is on Roquan...

Smith Contract Talks
I heard one half legitimate concern over not giving in. If the rest of the defense has that language also in their contracts, would any of them threaten to walkout to get it removed from their contracts also. I think there were only 2 or 4 situations last year were players were suspended for this rule.

Anthony Miller
We have a young core to be extremely excited about. Trubisky, Miller, Cohen, & Shaheen will give teams fits for years. Add in Robinson and Howard as proven commodities with Gabriel, White, and Burton, and this offense jumps to a top 10. Pace can turn his attention to bolstering the D next offseason and find a couple OTs to keep the oline young and strong. Finally coming together.

Early thoughts on training camp
I have a feeling Miller is going to be something special. He is coming in with cockiness, which can worrisome, but he has to put up or shut up. So far he is earning time to possibly take the #2, splitting with Gabriel. His attitude and ability would carry him a long way.

Early thoughts on training camp
Love all the updates! Tis the season everything gets you primed for Da Bears. Our inside oline depth seems over the top, wonder if we can swing a deal to a team in need. Long, Whitehair, Kush, Daniels, Morgan, Grasu. Wish Pace would get brave on taking OTs.

Defense Blitz
Young or Lamar Houston. Houston actually was getting to the QB in his limited time late last year. Hard not to like Young though.

Early thoughts on training camp
Thanks Adam, I live 20 miles from camp but only make it once a year. The news is good like ways this time but damn good this time. Hey, if anyone is in town tomorrow, I am planning on stopping at the library...next to TJs around 1pm. Stop by

Position Players get respect
They definately need a replacement for Massie and I would like another swing tackle that can keep Leno on his toes. As for pass rushers it depends, I was more specifically thinking OLB opposite of Floyd. If Lynch and Fitts do well we may not need much more. They could also look at a DE opposite of Hicks too.

Position Players get respect
Nice to see some optimism! I liked the job Pace did. Next off season he only has a few nails left and the team looks really deep. Couple of OTs and a pass rusher in my opinion.

Smith Contract Talks
I wasn't responding directly to you, I was still typing as your comment was posted as I about backed out to read it. What I was saying are these top players want the offset languages removed, basically making the deals 100% guaranteed. I think teams should still have the power to write in rules to follow that can get them out of that deal if the player breaks the rule. The pay scale is slotted, so it should be somewhat simple, except if the player doesn't agree with some of the offsets. Maybe an arbitrator is fair to oversee these offsets.

Smith Contract Talks
I see reasons to put stipulations in the deals. The players want some of those removed. You want your employee to abide you need leverage. If it was all guaranteed and no offsets, the league would be a disaster.

Shaheen
Once he gets that confidence, he could be a force to reckon with. It is about preparation, knowing your job, and then shining.

They are selling us all the goods. Articles on Kevin White coming in chiseled and claiming he still has the same speed that got him drafted 7th and he is putting in the work to impress the coaches in camp. I hope for once it all comes together for our Bears. We have had a long bad streak.

This years Rams breakout season(BEARS)
I was going to call you out on Trubisky's 31 starts as you mentioned earlier, but see you fixed it in the end to 13. Just a typo

Ryan Nall next Cohen?
I bet he is working hard on that end and will show up this season. I cannot remember the last time the Bears had an arsenal of offensive weapons like this before. Howard, Robinson, Burton, Cohen, Gabrial, Miller, Shaheen, White are all guys who could blow up. The defense keys on one guy, go option b,c,d..etc
-
Ryan Nall next Cohen?
Take a look at his measurables. He has speed and gets up to it pretty quick. Now imagine him in the Kelce/Burton role while also lining up at RB. 6'-3" 230 31-1/2" arms and 10-1/2" hands. The dude is bigger than most...RBs Broad jump - 122" = 13 RBs beat him Verticle - 33" = 9 beat him 3 Cone - 6.95 5 RBs beat him - top half for WR/TEs 20 time - 4.16 3 RBs beat him - this is near the top for WR/TE's also 40 Time - 4.58 = 13 RBs beat him - 60 time - 11.57 1 RB beat him- this would be top WR/TEs also.
-
Ryan Nall next Cohen?
I think Nagy will use Cohen a little more than he was last year, but this team's most special player is Trubisky. He needs to operate the offense in perfection then distribute the ball to a handful of talented players around him. If Cohen averaged 5-8 touches last year (estimate and probably less), I dont see him getting more than 10-12 this.

Pick #51 Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
I haven't seen this one yet, thanks for sharing Pix! I picked Miller as my favorite pick because I seen him similiar to Antonio Brown WR back November and I did not want a round 1 WR.
-
Ryan Nall next Cohen?
Nall is a hard one to figure out. He might be best as a Trey Burton clone as H back/TE, but this kid can play RB too. Him and Cohen can add a lot of mystery to an offense by moving to RB or slot etc. Nall was one of the most elusive backs in college by causing missed tackles. I think Helfrich has a great idea on how to use him seeing him personally play.

Ryan Nall next Cohen?
He is more elusive, than a run you over back. He might fit as a full back/H-back but don't count him out at RB. He is big, but Steven Jackson or Derek Henry was comparable with weight and speed too. I hope he makes the 53, I see him making big plays with the type of offense Nagy/Helfrich bring. If they keep a FB, he can block but he is much more dangerous with the ball.
