Only gave up a 6th for him. Good deal for them, will help Fournette and Bortles.

I don't think he was fleeced, I think Pace had offers to trade down coming in and decided to get pull the trigger moving up to get his guy based on those offers.. I agree the back and forth by both sides is old, it's a done deal and now we have to move on. The Bears may have a great QB in time and if that happens we will all be ok with it...I think

Cleveland could easily afford the trade based off of the STL deal last year to move from #15 to #1. They could have offered less and got it done. The STL for Goff is one to cringe, the Bears got off easy to get the guy they wanted RD1-15, RD2-43, RD2-45, RD3-76, 2017 RD1, 2017 RD3

Trubisky going #2 is not unexpected and many thought it was going to be Cleveland that traded up for him. Allen held a "pink" or "red" medical flag which is why he dropped, same as Hooker, teams tend to stay away from players with a flag even if it was "pink" which means they are ok with the issue. Pace knew what the going price was to trade up, he was taking the same calls that SF were receiving. He got a QB that was rated higher that Watson/Mahomes and didn't give up a future 1st like the other teams gave up. I was impressed that Trubisky and his agent played along with Pace on telling the media they never met with the Bears

Look at it this way. Paces last two 3rd rd picks is Grasu and Bullard. Like you said we didnt think Pace had a clue, but he was taking the calls for pick 3 and he knows SF was taking calls for two. We got the guy they wanted, I know I am good with it.

We pick at 4. I would take Cam Robinson, but assume GB or Sea take him with the huge need they have at oline. If he is gone, trade down and recoup a 3rd. There are two FS I like and a handful of CBs, so we can get a good db later in rd 2.

That was my reply to a you don't draft a QB at #2 to sit. It depends on how he progresses imo. I am good with it and wanted QB since the day Cutler got hurt and was finished.

Garapollo was not available, if so the deals made by Hou and KC would be almost more enticing. No one got him. I agree it sucks losing picks, but we got the guy Pace wanted and now we can see how it works. Could be great

Maybe he starts right away, but I would rather have Glennon there in case he needs time.

I agree with the first 3, but Glennons contract is fine to make sure the draft pick transitions. The only reason I see the trade was because Cleveland was also trying to trade up.

If the Bears really do want Trubisky, than yes they should draft him. What the Bears have is the upper bargaining chip with Cleveland. Cleveland is rumored to take Trubisky #1, that is how bad they want him. They are most likely feeling out the draft to were they can trade up to and still take Garrett #1. Like you said, they have discussed with NYJ. Jax at #4 has mentioned drafting Trubisky, that leaves the Bears at #3 to leapfrog Jax. It comes down to how bad Cleveland wants him. The Bears can tell Cleveland they may take him at #3 but we also like another QB and can deal, how much are you willing to pay?

Tonight, Greg Gabriel is tweeting about the possibility of Cleveland trading up to 3 for Trubisky. The Bears would get 12, 33, & 53 in return. That comes about 40 pts shy on the trade chart, so maybe we get a 6th also. It is highly possible if Pace wants to give up 3. Bears can bluff Cleveland by suggesting they will take Trubisky to push them to deal. What could we draft with this? Is 3 too good to give up? 1-12 2-33 2-37 2-53 3-98

Adams at 12 and Watson at 33 would be great.

SF could pass on a few guys too, sounds like they really want Leonard Fournette. Thursday should be fun at least.

That would work out good. He has the tools but is down for some reason. It may be his drive they are worried about, that is not as fixable as mechanics etc. All of his measurables are at the top in each category so seeing boards have him as a 2nd-3rd rounder are strange.

If the McCaskeys didn't own the Bears, he would be a more talented Jim McMahon. They would frown on that pick.

That could be. It could be smoke too. Aaron Lemming who does Scout Bears forum says he has sources that say Watson is Bears guy too.
