Right. I just cannot see Pace trading an asset without young solid pieces in place. Even seen a rumor on twitter about a Kyle Long for Muhammad Wilkerson trade. Having two solid backups like Manny and Ted is needed, last season proved that.
-
We can even wait for that, trading a good LG for KC 3rd-4th string RB would be bad. The most sense to me is Grasu isn't expected to start. With him weighing 280 #, I think we are preparing for a season without.
-
Please no! We have 9 draft picks, finding a comaprable RB like Tyler Ervin would be much wiser. If they make the trade, we better get draft picks also, bc Slauson is 30 years old and has two years left on contract. We really do not need to save cap space. If they trade Matt, then G becomes a big need for long term.
-
Trade rumor brewing? Joe Thomas? Only specualtion with JT on my part, but maybe Leno and our #1 for Thomas. From Brad Biggs twitter: I'm waiting to see if there is another move #Bears have in mind, maybe a trade involving O-line, after Ted Larsen addition.
-
I am sure they are considering that option and they may go that route. I think they go OT round 2 with someone like Le'Raven Clark or Jason Spriggs.
-
I am with you here. My personal list would go: Tunsil, Ramsey, Buckner, Stanley. If they are gone, then I would consider, but prefer to trade down: Wentz, Goff, Robinson, Elliott, and Hargreaves. If we can trade down to 15-20, I would target Vernon Butler, William Jackson III, or Eli Apple. I prefer Butler but if we get a CB, then RD2 I would go Nkimdiche if he falls or Chris Jones.
-
Killebrew would be a great choice too. I think Neal is similiar with the way the go through the ball carrier. Would love to see a SS that can put fear in the middle of the field and take out RBs. One hit Neal had that won me over is when he hit Derrick Henry and knocked him backwards. I am still working on my S order which would go similiar to this: Bell, Neal, Cash, Killebrew, Davis, Kearse. Have to check out Karl Joeseph yet.
-
Bears expected to sign OL Ted Larsen also. Another G/C that replaced Jonathan Cooper last year in AZ at RG. More depth I am sure, butn maybe Long moves to LT or Grasu isn't expected to be ready?
-
Not a chance, he will most likely go #1 overall unless Ten can trade down. Tennessee will be taking him with their first and an OT with their 2nd.
-
I think Bell, Neal and possibly Davis can play either FS/SS. That would make it tougher on opposing QB's to make reads if they cannot determine what the S is doing.
-
I don't think anyone really knows, remember last years crop Gerod Holliman 7th, Kurtis Drummond UDFA, Anthony Harris UDFA, Durrell Eskridge UDFA , Derron Smith 6th, Cody Prewitt UDFA and how it went for them? These name were constantly slotted anywhere from RD1-3. Shows you how hard good Safeties are to come by.
-
If someone takes Neal strictly for his ceiling, I think 2nd RD is the highest he goes. He just started climbing boards after the combine, otherwise many had him between 3rd-5th rd. His range is good, just inconsistent. Good coaching can fix his deficiencies. I would lean 3rd round on him, but not with our 2nd. I think there will be better players available, but if he was invited some teams must have him circled.

One S I am starting to grow on is Keanu Neal from Florida. He is not a strictly FS or SS, but can play either. The speed is not quite what I would like at 4.61 forty, but his verticle/broad jump were near the top and that power shows in many violent tackles. With his capability of playing deep and being strong inside, I think he can be coached up to excel and could start off the bat. He would make a perfect 4th RD pick. Vonn Bell would be my 3rd RD choice for a similiar S that won't be a risk deep either, but like DL, CB, and OT earlier. Cash, Killebrew, and Kearse are my guys if they want a hybrid SS/LB which is becoming a trend in the league.
-
I think Houston started showing us glimpses of what he can do as his leg gained strength. Young may prefer to be strictly a 4-3 DE, but I think he enjoyed his role when his sacks started rolling also. I see OLB as one of the bigger needs next offseason and not a priority this one. I hope the class of OLB is stronger next year also.

Bears make offer to TE Josh Hill, however, Saints Match

I do too, he was a little lost when he had opportunities but I am sure things will eventually slow down for him. As a blocker he was fine, hope he grows more comfortable as a receiver. -

I don't think it does too much, because if they want a blocking TE they can draft one later. If anything, losing out on Hill means Khari Lee has better odds on having a role. -
Pace might be one of the best in the business with keeping his intentions locked up. It is frustrating but awesome. As for who they might select first overall? Looking at and doing many mock drafts daily, chances are a player we want/need will not be there. The player and the team are both working the system to try and shape the draft to their likings. We need teams below us to want to trade up and I would prefer someone between slots 15-20 and gain a 3rd. My targets would be Vernon Butler, Eli Apple or William Jackson. If all else fails and we stay at 11, I see A'shawn Robinson as our pick. I could not imagine how sweet the draft would be if we succeed gaining a 3rd. 1-Vernon Butler DT 2-Xavien Howard CB 3-Le'Raven Clark/Jason Spriggs OT 3-Jeremy Cash/Miles Killebrew S 4-Nick Vannett/Jerell Adams TE 4-Dak Prescott/Connor Cook/Christian Hackenberg QB 5-Tyler Ervin/Kenyan Drake RB 6-Dadi Nicholas/Travis Feeney OLB
-
I like him more as a developmental OLB. Give him a year of weights to add 10# of muscle and he may be a good edge rusher. His numbers were down this season bc I believe he played DE and was undersized.
-
1- He is a Crete-Monee kid, we have back a neighbor connection to talk with him. 2- Alshon may not want to play in Chicago? 3- Showing interest may spring a team to select him before #11. 4- Due diligence on "BPA"

Fanspeak's mock draft using "With the First Pick's" Big Board: This is comical, like playing fantasy football with grade school kids. 1 - Ezekiel Elliott RB 2 - DeForest Buckner DT 3 - Jeremy Cash SS 4 - Darron Lee LB 4 - Joe Haeg OT 5 - Nick Martin C/G 6 - Deiondre' Hall CB 6 - Yannick Ngakoue OLB 7 - David Morgan TE

I don't think the Bears signed Bolden yet. He is supposed to visit next week is the last I heard.
-
I think Hill's receiving role could blossom like Bennett's. I think it takes longer for them to read and understand NFL defenses, so they are either WRs or extra blockers starting off. Once they get up to speed and coaching can trust them, they can become the multi-dimensional TE. I also think we have a solid TE core if the Saints do not match. Housler was a 3rd RD pick if I recall right, he should be able to get in the mix also. Lee is still raw but we thought highly enough of him to make a trade. I wonder how many TEs they will keep? I would think Housler would be out if they draft TE high.
-
I would do both. After the top prospects: Tunsil, Ramsey, Bosa, Jack, Buckner, and Stanley I think the next group of 20 players are equivalent so trading down would be great. In RDs 2-4, I hope we do move up to take advantage of that solid middle.
-
We could also move down some too. I think if Goff is there we may find a suitor. Funny thing is Pace is saying this draft is deep while I read Gabriel say it is about 4 rds deep. If Pace feels that way he may feel good about dropping some.

He almost looks like a younger Jerry Angelo
