I hope no one pays that guy to write. First off they know nothing about the Jets, Bears, or how the NFL works. If the Jets cannot afford Wilkerson's 15.7 million, how can they afford Jeffery's 14.6 million?
-
I've read he would make NT in 3-4, not quite capable of being a 3 down player though. Nassib has better potential, from PSU.
-
Cutler can be effective 3-5 more years. I am not sure the Bears are ready to invest that high yet. If one falls that the like, I think they explore trading down for the value. A QB adds value to the "trade value chart" compared to other positions.
-
The OLB is the most important position on this D. If you can get to the QB, you can win. I agree with your assessments on our current players. The only OLB I can see the Bears taking if he clears medically is Shaq Lawson. He has similar size/speed to what we have, but he seems to know how to get to the QB better. I would rather fill bigger needs on D over OLB, but understand if they go that route because of the importance. on a side note: they take OLB early I bet we hear Houston/Young both grumble and ask to be traded

Buckner, Butler, and Jones are my targets at DT. I once had hope that Buckner would be my RD1 option, Butler my RD2, and Jones my RD3. If all 3 are gone, then maybe Adolphus Washington RD3 becomes a name to watch. Regardless, DT should be a priority imo since Ferguson has a suspension to start the season and Sutton isn't a ideal fit. That leaves Goldman, Hicks, Unrein, Washington, and Sutton as bodies that can dress. It will be interesting again to see what they plan on doing with Washington since he has athletic skills and size to play either OLB or DE. I figure he will return to DE since he was slotted there last season.

They put a twist into the everyday mock draft read. I have been high on Chris Jones for a while, not sure pick 11 high though. I am not a fan of taking RB RD2 either.

Dallas was a mess last year. Lost Romo, Bryant, and traded Murray. That is hard to over come. The year before, they had a playoff win stolen from them by a catch rule and the NFL's luv of Erin Rodgers. I would say they are closer to that playoff team than a 4 win team this season. Regardless, they need to get BPA at many positions and LT is a hard one to find.

Many NFL scouts have Conklin over Stanley after the senior bowl. They say he is more athletic than they thought. Le'Raven Clark is also one of the few names mentioned as an NFL LT also, besides Spriggs. I think Tunsil, Stanley, and Conklin are top 15 names. Taylor and Clark may get picked late 1st. Spriggs will be 2nd or early 3rd. So if the Bears want a potential LT, they have to draft early. Joe Haeg will also be gone rd3.

He would be a great addition, but I would not want to trade the pick unless it was a swap like I did in my mock. That is equivalent to a mid 2nd in trade value, which is enough in my mind since they have two good players in place and need his cap dollar to get a QB. Plus, NYJ owe us from the BM gift. He would make us a contender right away but would also hurt our cap going forward. Tough decision

They waived him at a time he was most protected. It was a risk waiving him, but they felt he would clear and did. Once he was secured on the ps, they made sure he wasn't leaving. If they were not confident, they would have made a move already. Not saying they won't take a project, but Fales is going into camp as #2 and a rookie will have perform well enough for them to carry 3 QBs.
-
I considered a few, I would put Prescott or Cardale Jones over Pharoh Cooper. WR is pretty strong and Cooper would not see action over Royal right away. i can go with that.
-
Exactly, that is why I think Johnstone would make sense. He has LT potential but will slip bc of the knee. Leno can have first shot and Johnstone can take a slow approach while building back leg. I have confidence in Leno, but TJ can eventually take the spot. Does anyone really think they would stick a 3rd rd rookie in the game over Fales if Jay gets hurt? Don't discount Fales, some good NFL coaches wanted him.

Less than a month away for Christmas amongst die hard NFL fans. Here is my April fools make a wish draft 1-11 trade to NY Jets for Muhammad Wilkerson and pick 1-20. The contract will not be easy to build with the Jets cannot keep him. 1-20 William Jackson III CB -Fox wanted to add speed, Jackson has length, speed, and is a top 2-3 CB 2-41 Jaylon Smith LB- I am predicting a good re-check and news he should make a full recovery. 3-71 Sean Davis S - Davis is under the radar, but look at his measurables and game tape. He will be good. 4-106 Pharoh Cooper WR- Eddie Royal was expected to be a clutch slot, he barely seen the field. PC adds insurance & KR 4-127 Tyler Higbee TE- WR convert w good long hands. Not really an inline blocker but tries. Might be best in class for TE 5-150 Tyler Johnstone OT- would be 2nd rd pick, but injuries hurt. Good LT prospect and Bears can build him up. 6-185 Aaron Wallace OLB UCLA-saw limited play until sr yr, but has every tool to be good edge rusher in NFL. Bloodlines, twitch, just needs experience to get things to click faster for him. He is my projected steal for our future edge 6-206 Josh Ferguson RB- compared to Ronnie Hillman. Scatback that can take it to house w good vision too. 7-230 Darious Latham DT-ideal size and strength, will need condtioning and work but can become NFL starter Hit starters with Wilkerson, Jackson, Davis. Guys that can contibute some right away Cooper, Higbee, and Ferguson. Smith, Johnstone, Wallace, and Latham will need to heal or be groomed. Overall, this draft added speed with Jackson, Smith, Davis, Copper, Ferguson, Wallace are all fast for their positions.

I agree. Sounds like he is doing amazing things already with weights on the knee. He has desire to make it, so I do not doubt his heart. Someone that can afford more risk will probably take him in the 2nd. His medical exam will clear things up more. With our past gms, we could take him and it would be no different with getting nothings. I have higher hope with Pace.

I understand why many experts say we need an edge rusher. This D needs someone capable of putting fear on QBs and I am not sure we have that yet. I think McPhee, Houston, Young, and Acho are decent, just not game plan to stop them types. We still need many pieces, but I would say we are now getting close. This draft, we can get a great CB and DT. If we can trade down gain a 3rd and still get a group like this, we can get creative on pass rush. Especially if we improve on coverage to buy more time. rd1-W Jackson/Eli Apple CB rd2-V Butler/RNkimdiche/C Jones rd3-M Killebrew/S Davis S rd3-N Vannett/J Adams TE Next draft go all out on OLBs, draft 2 early. Young will be gone and Houston can be cut or asked to take a pay reduction.
-
I think Houston is better in the 3-4 than in the 4-3. He struggled year 1 and is not big enough imo.
-
Interesting for sure. I don't think we need 12 draft picks though. Would jump for joy if we can trade down in the first.
-
Right. I just cannot see Pace trading an asset without young solid pieces in place. Even seen a rumor on twitter about a Kyle Long for Muhammad Wilkerson trade. Having two solid backups like Manny and Ted is needed, last season proved that.
-
We can even wait for that, trading a good LG for KC 3rd-4th string RB would be bad. The most sense to me is Grasu isn't expected to start. With him weighing 280 #, I think we are preparing for a season without.
-
Please no! We have 9 draft picks, finding a comaprable RB like Tyler Ervin would be much wiser. If they make the trade, we better get draft picks also, bc Slauson is 30 years old and has two years left on contract. We really do not need to save cap space. If they trade Matt, then G becomes a big need for long term.
-
Trade rumor brewing? Joe Thomas? Only specualtion with JT on my part, but maybe Leno and our #1 for Thomas. From Brad Biggs twitter: I'm waiting to see if there is another move #Bears have in mind, maybe a trade involving O-line, after Ted Larsen addition.
-
I am sure they are considering that option and they may go that route. I think they go OT round 2 with someone like Le'Raven Clark or Jason Spriggs.
-
I am with you here. My personal list would go: Tunsil, Ramsey, Buckner, Stanley. If they are gone, then I would consider, but prefer to trade down: Wentz, Goff, Robinson, Elliott, and Hargreaves. If we can trade down to 15-20, I would target Vernon Butler, William Jackson III, or Eli Apple. I prefer Butler but if we get a CB, then RD2 I would go Nkimdiche if he falls or Chris Jones.
-
Killebrew would be a great choice too. I think Neal is similiar with the way the go through the ball carrier. Would love to see a SS that can put fear in the middle of the field and take out RBs. One hit Neal had that won me over is when he hit Derrick Henry and knocked him backwards. I am still working on my S order which would go similiar to this: Bell, Neal, Cash, Killebrew, Davis, Kearse. Have to check out Karl Joeseph yet.
