Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet besides comparisons to Bucannon, but what about Miles Killebrew at ILB? He has good size (seen 6-1 up to 6-3) and 225-235 weight. He is climbing fast as you stated and have read late 1st considerations. If he falls to RD2, can he transition to LB? Just a thought to ponder as ILB is one of the top 3 needs (ILB, DL, OL).

Never even noticed

Getting better! I would like Smith if we knew he can be just as good as Kuechly or Willis, but would need a crystal ball. First 3 picks would be a dream start, ok with 4th. 5th, 6C, and 7 decent also. 6A and 6B, meh. Dont know anything on Robinson and Vaiti seems like another Fayo.
-
They were a lot more healthy this time. They were missing Miller, Wolfe and Harris along with Manning who was about 60% if that. I think Seattle was the better team that year regardless, but it may have been more of a game.

I like seeing good football and the blueprints. Bears need defense. Both teams tonight showed how they got there.

Finally checked out Fanspeak. Fun site! Used Draftteks board to look good, but going back and will try again with CBS. Ohio State alum (Noah Spence) squad. 11: R1P11 OLB MYLES JACK UCLA 41: R2P10 DE ADOLPHUS WASHINGTON OHIO STATE 72: RD3P9 OLB NOAH SPENCE E KENTUCKY 103: R4P8 S MILES KILLEBREW SOUTHERN UTAH 138: R5P11 WR BRAXTON MILLER OHIO STATE 167: R6P10 OT LE'RAVEN CLARK TEXAS TECH 186: R6P29 QB DAK PRESCOTT MISSISSIPPI ST (USC K Robert Aguayo could have been selected) 189: R6P32 CB KEVON SEYMOUR USC 198: R7P9 OLB NICK KWIATKOWSKI WEST VIRGINIA (Connor McGovern G -but figured we have Fayo) Much tougher on CBS. 1. Ronnie Stanley OT, 2. Vadal Alexander G, 3. Su'a Cravens LB 4. Jayron Kearse SS 5. Harlan Miller CB 6. Javon Hargrave DT 6. Dadi Nicholas OLB 6. Antonio Morrison LB 7. Tyler Johnstone OT. Didn't like RD2 choices with taking a guy 20 selections too high. Could have taken Adolphus Washington DE and should have. Oline should be locked down for many years at least.
-
I think one way or another, they find two ILBs and I would be happy with any combination whether they sign one in FA or draft two. I would love Alexander in the 3rd, would be a steal. My dream is to see an oline put together through the draft.

Fangio adds speed draft with drafttek's order: FA: target Wilkerson/M Jackson DT, Kelechi Osemele G, re-sign Tracy Porter CB Once this class gets up to NFL speed, they will be a high flying unit with Jack, Lee, and Killebrew. 1- Myles Jack ILB UCLA 6-1 245 Athletic, speed, great ball skills. Bears looking to add a new dimension to the team. 2- Darron Lee ILB OSU 6-1 235- Like Jack, Lee has the same characteristics. Fangio will be able to confuse offenses with coverages and blitzes 3-Miles Killebrew SS S. Utah - 6-2 220 Killebrew is in the form of Deone Bucannon or Shaq Thompson. He has size and speed and likes to thump. Captain of the D also. 4-Chris Jones DT - Miss St. 6-5 308 Jones is a bit raw, but has the tool box equipped to be a starter in the NFL. 5-Kevin Hogan QB Stanford - Rocket arm, suspect accuracy, mobile...JayII? 6-Adam Gotsis DT GT 6-5 285 - Gotsis is an Australian who is also raw in experience. He has a high motor, well coordinated athlete, with long arms and quickness. 6-Corey Maggit OLB Ten 6-3 256 - Pass rusher to develop and depth for McPhee, Houston, and Young, Maggit is legit. He can rush the passer, stop the run, and play pass coverage all well. 6-Kevon Seymour CB USC 6-0 185 -Surprised to see him in the 6th on drafttek, but he has length, good run defense, and can play man. 7-Connor McGovern G Mizz - Like this kids profile, think he can be a starter down the road.

Bored also, following your steps with a few tweeks. 1. Deforest Buckner DT - best 5T in draft, adds strength, length, and long term fix 2 Darron Lee ILB - Bobby Wagner East! 3-Jalen Mills FS - Vocal leader on LSU. 4. Dadi Nicolas OLB-Speed rusher on passing downs 5-La'Vern Clark OT (tough choice with Hogan/Jones QB available) 6-Aaron Burnbridge WR-possession WR to play slot 6-Lloyd Carrington CB-Aggressive CB to groom 6-Antonio Morrison LB-Aggressive quick LB 7-Connor McGovern G- Strongest man in the draft?

I agree, I shut it off once I got to round 3 and seen Jones, never made it to see who they selected in Rd4.
-
Read the DLman that outperformed most/all at seniorbowl was Adolfus Washington. This was from a reliable scout also. If we could get Jack, Stanley, or Jaylon Smith rd1, Washington may be a good option rd2. Even better if we trade down and gain an extra 2nd or 3rd.

If the Bears select [INSERT NAME/POSITION] in the 1st...
ASHKUM BEAR replied to jason's topic in Bearstalk
Laquon Treadwell WR - even though he is a local, from Crete-Monee, I would be pissed if the Bears draft another WR. That would be two WR's taken back to back that realistically could have been used in another area. -
He seen that Travis Kelce signed a 5 year 46 million deal and thought "I am worth at least half of that!?" He can look for that on the market, maybe he will be back once he sees his value.
-
Miller reportedly is looking to break some bank. Sounds like he is looking in the 5M range. Is that acceptable for a guy who hasn't strung together healthy seasons? Would spending 11+ on two TE's be a wise decision if they keep Marty and re-sign Miller?
-
Hard to take a guy like Spence when the Bears have long term high value contracts in place for Houston and McPhee. Houston can feasibly be cut after this 2016 season, but more likely after the 2017 season. He will need to be a top 3 OLB to see his final year of the deal. FA is not friendly because he will likely be cut and the Bears will see no compensation when they lose him and a team like NE or GB can sign him and it wont count against theres. What the Bears need to do is spend a 6th or 7th on developmental prospect and let him learn for 2 years.
-
This is a hard decision a young GM will have to make if he is there. He is the type of player you want to build your defense around, but you also don't want damaged goods.
-
Chances are Buckner or Jack will not be there. Have to plan without those two imo. Do you bet on Smith or Nkimdiche with big risks? Or go safe with Ragland or an OT? They may shock Bear fans with a CB like Hargreaves or Alexander. If Buckner or Jack fall it is a no brianer, I would go DT first and look for Wright rd 2 or 3.
-
I do not think Buckner drops to #11. If he does, it would be a great fit. Nkimdiche may be there, but he has to grow up fast. After those two, I do not want to reach for another Ferguson to fill that need. Same with LBs, Jack will be gone and Ragland isn't a value at #11. If teams are QB hungry, that is our only chance at getting one of our needs at good value.
-
I think S is the biggest need because the draft is a crap shoot. You want a veteran back there. Rolle and Mundy are suitable, but an upgrade would make the D better. This draft is weak imo, players in our reach are meh. We could get a top 5T (doubtful) or injured LB or a head case DT. I don't feel good at #11, trade down would help. As for FA, start at S and DT, try to fill ILB with bright prospects like Jason said.
-
Here we go: 1-Jaylon Smith ILB -trading with STL #15 and a 3rd for #11. Hope he plays 2016, top 5 talent 2-Jonathan Bullard DT-1st rd talent, strong base, stout at point of attack. Like Goldman a steal 3-Jerald Hawkens OT can play G or RT/LT. Plug him in right away next to Long 3-Scooby Wright LB-3rd Rd steal, with Smith coming soon LB will be cray. The trade allows Smith to heal 4-Braxton Miller WR KR/PR-take a shot at explosive playmaker. Polish him up like R Cobb 5-Lloyd Carrington CB-aggressive man CB, like DRandall taken by GB rd1, he will sneak up boards. Willing learner/basketball player. Biggest game was int against my Irish. 6-Dadi Nicholas OLB- he did go one pick ahead, make a handshake deal w NYG. As a stand up 3-4OLB he can get after QB 6-Jihad Ward DE - turned heads at SB and Pace scouted him in Champaign. Steal in 6. Grooms for DE opp of Bullard. 6-Connor McGovern G-strongest man in draft, moves well and good zone awareness. He can be Slausen's replacement 7-Elijah Shumate SS- special teamer and develop into possible starter. Injury knocked his stock out, was potential 3-4 rd With this draft, my free agency target would be a high end Safety. It would be hard to pry Berry out of KC, but we have cap. I would even reach out to Forte, we have two young backs that look alright but a steady veteran in the mix would help. Definately have to convince Alshon Jeffery to stay and put off warm weather dreams a few more years. Play hard ball with Marty Bennett, we have his nuts in our palm and he can have them back after the season. Zach Miller is another piece to re-sign, he can be the bridge until we draft a replacement a year or two later. If we have much cap left for another big name, Malik Jackson would help mentor the young front core. At CB, invite Porter back on a 2 year deal also. If this draft hits like last years, this team will have a stock of youth ready to compete. The 2017 draft, this team will be ready to draft a QB of the future, high end OLB, CB, and TE with high picks. Another S and RB with later ones. I think this is the draft we can transition into greatness.
-
No more picks on kickers! Ha! I like two olinemen, we have an odd situation with our personal. The right side would be scary year one. Would prefer Johnstone sits a year and play: Leno Slausen Grasu Turner Long. Then after a year of rehab, let Johnstone compete at either tackle spot but Leno may have that position locked by then too. I will take a look at draftsite later, but they are way off on some rankings.
-
I could go for that. I do not know much about Johnson, other than he is rated a top DT, but a DT/DE in the first 3 rounds is a must. Sign Wilkerson or Malik Jackson and they can take CB, S, or G with the 2nd.
-
Further up this post, I did a few Round 2 options which one included Darrin Lee or Kyler Frackell for ILB. I would not take either of them at #11, but if they are there in Round 2 I would really consider Lee.
-
Been reading some tweets from scouts I follow who think he is a top 20 player. We will see, I would still prefer Buckner or Nkimdiche if Jack, Stanly, or Ramsey are taken.
