Chances are Buckner or Jack will not be there. Have to plan without those two imo. Do you bet on Smith or Nkimdiche with big risks? Or go safe with Ragland or an OT? They may shock Bear fans with a CB like Hargreaves or Alexander. If Buckner or Jack fall it is a no brianer, I would go DT first and look for Wright rd 2 or 3.

I do not think Buckner drops to #11. If he does, it would be a great fit. Nkimdiche may be there, but he has to grow up fast. After those two, I do not want to reach for another Ferguson to fill that need. Same with LBs, Jack will be gone and Ragland isn't a value at #11. If teams are QB hungry, that is our only chance at getting one of our needs at good value.

I think S is the biggest need because the draft is a crap shoot. You want a veteran back there. Rolle and Mundy are suitable, but an upgrade would make the D better. This draft is weak imo, players in our reach are meh. We could get a top 5T (doubtful) or injured LB or a head case DT. I don't feel good at #11, trade down would help. As for FA, start at S and DT, try to fill ILB with bright prospects like Jason said.

Here we go: 1-Jaylon Smith ILB -trading with STL #15 and a 3rd for #11. Hope he plays 2016, top 5 talent 2-Jonathan Bullard DT-1st rd talent, strong base, stout at point of attack. Like Goldman a steal 3-Jerald Hawkens OT can play G or RT/LT. Plug him in right away next to Long 3-Scooby Wright LB-3rd Rd steal, with Smith coming soon LB will be cray. The trade allows Smith to heal 4-Braxton Miller WR KR/PR-take a shot at explosive playmaker. Polish him up like R Cobb 5-Lloyd Carrington CB-aggressive man CB, like DRandall taken by GB rd1, he will sneak up boards. Willing learner/basketball player. Biggest game was int against my Irish. 6-Dadi Nicholas OLB- he did go one pick ahead, make a handshake deal w NYG. As a stand up 3-4OLB he can get after QB 6-Jihad Ward DE - turned heads at SB and Pace scouted him in Champaign. Steal in 6. Grooms for DE opp of Bullard. 6-Connor McGovern G-strongest man in draft, moves well and good zone awareness. He can be Slausen's replacement 7-Elijah Shumate SS- special teamer and develop into possible starter. Injury knocked his stock out, was potential 3-4 rd With this draft, my free agency target would be a high end Safety. It would be hard to pry Berry out of KC, but we have cap. I would even reach out to Forte, we have two young backs that look alright but a steady veteran in the mix would help. Definately have to convince Alshon Jeffery to stay and put off warm weather dreams a few more years. Play hard ball with Marty Bennett, we have his nuts in our palm and he can have them back after the season. Zach Miller is another piece to re-sign, he can be the bridge until we draft a replacement a year or two later. If we have much cap left for another big name, Malik Jackson would help mentor the young front core. At CB, invite Porter back on a 2 year deal also. If this draft hits like last years, this team will have a stock of youth ready to compete. The 2017 draft, this team will be ready to draft a QB of the future, high end OLB, CB, and TE with high picks. Another S and RB with later ones. I think this is the draft we can transition into greatness.

No more picks on kickers! Ha! I like two olinemen, we have an odd situation with our personal. The right side would be scary year one. Would prefer Johnstone sits a year and play: Leno Slausen Grasu Turner Long. Then after a year of rehab, let Johnstone compete at either tackle spot but Leno may have that position locked by then too. I will take a look at draftsite later, but they are way off on some rankings.

I could go for that. I do not know much about Johnson, other than he is rated a top DT, but a DT/DE in the first 3 rounds is a must. Sign Wilkerson or Malik Jackson and they can take CB, S, or G with the 2nd.

Further up this post, I did a few Round 2 options which one included Darrin Lee or Kyler Frackell for ILB. I would not take either of them at #11, but if they are there in Round 2 I would really consider Lee.

Been reading some tweets from scouts I follow who think he is a top 20 player. We will see, I would still prefer Buckner or Nkimdiche if Jack, Stanly, or Ramsey are taken.

If the Bears get a couple decent FA's and can look at the draft BPA, I wouldn't mind BM with the 4th. The guy is a freak. 6-2 215 size, 4.32 40 (unofficial). This guy is a game changer. Hester didn't really have a position, was drafted rather early, and may end up in the HOF. At least with BM, I think he has a great head on his shoulders, has great leadership skills, and can become a good to great WR with more development. If Jeffery is unable to sign long term and we franchise him, having more talent at WR will help make the departure easier

Hard to accept Carimi ever being labeled a bust, he took a blow that takes years to recover from. If it was for that fluke, he may be still part of the Bears line. Who knows about Columbo also, suffered nearly the same injury. If he stayed healthy, he may be still be playing entering his 14th year. The Bears have not had luck on their side, if it wasn't for some of these injuries on high draft picks this team may have had a other Superbowl run

What happened to Cook and Hackenberg? They both have dropped out of the hype. Lynch, Wentz, and Goff have supplanted them somewhat. Have to wait and see what senior bowl games and the combine do. If the Bears were smart, they would throw a lot of interest in the QBs to force teams to take one or trade up.

My top 10 would be similiar to this. I could think deeper into it and shuffle it some, but this is close. Get a long term impact player. 1-Tunsil OT 2-Bosa DL 3-Stanley OT 4-Jack LB 5-Ramsey DB 6-Nkimdiche DL 7-Buckner DL 8-Smith LB 9-Hargreves CB 10-Ragland LB

I read his profile, and if we stayed in the 4-3 base, I can see a fit. Not so much with the 3-4 base and he is restricted inside. Unless they have plans to bump Goldman outside. . As for OLB, I think this year is good to add a developmental prospect. Prefer round 5 and after. They need to find a speed specialist and let him groom behind McPhee, Houston, and Young. Acho may not be back, even if he does, getting someone 6-7 years younger would be good because Young and Acho are short term fixes. Is there any mid draft ILBs that you like that the Bears can draft? I look at Carolina and envy their D especially the LB core. I like Myles Jack, Jaylon Smith, and Ragland. I just dont see Jack dropping, Smith with the injury, or reaching for Ragland. 1-Nkimdiche DT 2-Jaylon Smith LB 3-Tretola G this would satisfy me for a start, even with expecting Smith to miss the season. Give Shea/Jones/Timu another year and sign a top tier FA.

HA! At least Emery and Lovie are out of work, otherwise he would be a first rounder. The way this draft is going, we better get ILBs in FA. Unless we go M Jack or J Smith, and Smith will miss at least half the season.

Give me Tretola G, Haeg OT, or Frackell who I believe can play ILB. 4-Dadi Nicolas OLB (notable pick I would be tempted on Christian Hackenberg QB) I am good with a OLB after RD3 this year. I have been seeing Hackenberg RD3 or 4 lately, has he really fallen that far off? Huge might be overly stated. He wasn't expected to play this year because of size and strength, but those can be achieved, along with more knowledge. Grasu, I expect, will be more NFL ready come late July and his play improved. Draft a RG or RT and we may have a oline set for a couple years.

Dang, I just did a little mock and took him in the 3rd also. Might have to make him my 2nd RD choice and O-line my 3rd RD.

I would like too root for the guy until he hangs it up, but at this point of his career, he has past his peak. I have read many comments, not necessarily here, about not wanting to keep Forte around for 4-5 million. Now if the Bears gave you a choice of Forte or Gould for two more years, who do you choose?

They would have to get a good deal to part with a dual TE. He can fill the blocking and recieving role. Finish his deal out anf let him walk.

If I knew Buckner would last to #15 and STL would trade up for a QB, this would be my draft. We gain a 2nd and 3rd. free agents: extend- Jeffery, Forte, Unrein, Miller, Montgomery, Thompson, McClellin, Porter. Big FA Trevathon 1-15 Buckner DT 2 Su'a Cravens LB 2 Cody Whitehair G 3-William Jackson CB 3-Miles Killebrew SS 4-Joe Haeg OT 5-Lloyd Carrington CB 6-Hogan, Prissett QB 6-Dadi Nicolas OLB 6-Tyler Higbee TE 7-Ryan Switzer WR or Tyler Ervin RB This team would be stacked with talented youth and speed. The FA signings extensions would be short term on Forte, McClellin, Porter, Unrein, and Montgomery, 2 year deals. The 2017 draft would go: 1-QB 2-OLB 3-TE or G It would be sick to think how good this team could be if Pace nails the 2016 draft

I was huge on Bucannon last year. Thought he would be huge in round 2, but his value was better and he has not disapponted. I would be good with Cravens, who people compare his intensity and IQ to Troy Polomolu. I am still not sure Johnstone would be a good investment with his injuries. The Oregon connection would be fun, but we need durabiliy with a 4th round pick. Maybe Joe Haeg, Avery Young, or Halapoulivaati Vaitai would be better for LT or Denver Kirkland, Brandon Schell for RT/G. Get someone capable of starting if needed, not saying Johnstone couldn't be 100%, but knees take year on big men. What are your thoughts on A'Shawn Robinson at 5T if we had a choice of Buckner or him? I don't know how he projects on the edge in a 3-4, were I feel Buckener or even Oakman would be solid.

Intrigued by Cravens, they compare him to Shaq Thompson. Thompson hasn't played much due to Carolinas depth so it is hard to gauge a similiar athlete. I think we both feel adding strength on the Dline is a big factor. The Buckner pick would not disappoint me because he has tremendous length and power to draw double teams. Having that benefit would go a long ways at helpng the LBs . Jackson had a good bowl game and seems like a capable guy to develop. I might double dip on CBs and take a flier on Llyod Carrington with a 5th/6th. I am not sure about Johnstone, he has had a lot of work done on those knees. If they are really sticking with Long outside, I think a guy better suited at G would be the pick. Nicholas would be a great situational pass rusher that can develop.

Denver Broncos extend DE Derek Wolfe to a four year contract. He was one of the defensive targets I hoped the Bears would get. Still a wild dream they can get Wilkerson DE or Berry S.

Having Bennett and a healthy Miller would be a boost. I think Khari Lee can develop, but he needs another year as we had to play him to save our investment and put him on active roster. If the Bears can get by next season and let MB sign somewhere as a free agent, then we also get added compensation points which could land us a 5th rd pick. Let him sit if he holds out, but don't lose those potential picks unless a trade with more value comes.
