Goodbye Watching NFL Playoff Games Without Paying For Them
ASHKUM BEAR replied to Lucky Luciano's topic in Bearstalk
I live out in the country, so dishnetwork is what I have. I already pay $115 for garbage. Once my contract is up, I am getting starlink and one of those fire sticks. Kids wonder why they cannot afford anything like their parents did. It's because we are paying a fortune for air...tv, Internet, cell phones. -
Goodbye Watching NFL Playoff Games Without Paying For Them

Looks like I am done being a fan. To all the people that bought in to these subscriptions, kiss my butt. I don't want to hear you complain about how much you pay for tv and internet. -
I think we ran our course through coach search discussions. It is A.) Ben Johnson and B.) Mike Vrable. Out of these two, can Johnson build a good enough staff to match his offensive mind. Can Vrabel bring an offensive mind to match his complete coaching expertise. I think this might be what it comes down to.

The Bears had the composition before on how to build a championship team and abandoned it. Warren needs a letter to remind him how a team can become a force. This draft they can add 4 pieces if they don't get cute. LT, DE, DT, and C/G are the assignment. The other pieces can be FA and later draft picks. 2026 draft repeat in the trenches so there is strong depth because injuries happen and games are won there. Once you have starters and depth, go cute one year taking RB, MLB, and TE like detroit did, they were in position to and it paid off.

And that is the major reason they have been bad since that time as well, beside having a great coach you have to draft those positions sucessfully. The Bears, instructed by the owners IMO, demand a safe player over a liability. Proof Shea McClellin over Chandler Jones. Looking at the 2012 draft, we signed many fa's from that class that we could have drafted. The guys we drafted besides WR A Jeffrey were nothings. The owners need to stay away and let the brass take the best player.

Like I said previously, when have the Bears drafted a good QB, LT, or DE. It has been since the 80s for 2 out of 3. If they nailed the QB, they could have been a dynasty.

One thing that hits my mind in Ben Johnson possible not being a leader of warriors is Vikings HC Kevin OConnell. OConnell reminds me of a man child, with his boyish looks. His voice isn't commanding either. But he has led the Vikings because he has a great offensive mind, teamed with Flores, they have a great combo. With this comparison, I think we can take a different angle when trying to judge Ben Johnson as a HC. Lastly, Nagy was never really a OC at KC. He was a QB coach who had the title and sat under Andy Reid. So to say we can't take another OC because of Nagy, I think is off as well. Merry Christmas

At least this has been upgraded to a broken ankle and a 4 month time frame. Regardless if he is healthy for next season or not, if there is a first round LT at their slot, they cannot pass him up. LT is a premium position, like QB, that until you have a top 10 talent, you keep fishing.

I don't think any rookies will be able to translate to wins early on as well. They may help solidify the gap but to expect all-star performances is not realistic. New coaching and 15 new starters means 500 at best if we are lucky.

I think draftbuzz is one of the best sites to read about a player. They do a good job giving strengths and weaknesses and the guys I fall in love with start off in the 5th 6th round and end up 1-3rd round.

I just think of all those dropped balls, especially from an all pro, Keenan Allen. If the Bears had more competent blockers, we would probably get to see Kmet more involved. Poles has one year to make it right, which makes it difficult to hire a HC. Who would want to take a job with a lame duck GM.
-
Williams had a TD go through Odunze hands who tried to catch the ball at his helmet. How many Allen drops. If half of the throws are caught, he has at least 220 yds, 2 TDs. No mention of meathead Kramer who has screwed the Bears out of 2 TDs now also. His goal line fumble was the start of the free fall and not checking in as eligible? That's worse than Velus learning about ball spin coming off a kickers foot.

No, the Bears need to use their resources to make sure their franchise player has the talent around him to make him flourish. Once we have an offense capable of playing with the best, we can figure out the defense.
-
At least talk to the man and learn. They act like they know how to run a winning franchise. No call to Harbaugh, no Andy Reid, no O'Connell who they took Eberflus over. I am leaning g towards Vrabel now as my guy but if they can pry McVay or Shannhan for draft picks, I might consider.

On mock draft simulators, I am seeing QBs like Ewers in round 2. He will more than likely be a top 15 pick. QBs always rise and there will be teams with need at the position willing to get their guy. No one expected ATL to draft QB and it broke a few GMs hearts that wanted Penix. I do not want to trade down unless we end up top 4.
-
The safest picks are usually oline and dline, which need to become a serious consideration every draft. As Jason says, a great oline can make a mediocre RB a great one.
-
Only a few coaches have demanded, McDermott and Shannahan lately. Chicago must not have contacted Bellichik, huge mistake on them. We don't know who will be available in 45 days. We may even trade draft picks to get the coach. All options are open because they cannot screw this up with a QB that can carry a team to greatness.

Tyrique split playing time with Terrell last year and they both showed signs of becoming staples for the D. They are back to splitting time this year again. Tyriques play since that Washington DC debacle has been down, which seems like his heart and desire was ripped out. I'm sure the NFL and the rest of world made sure he knew how foolish he looked and that is a lot of weight to carry. He needs a great play to shake that weight off and I hope he can get an Interception and return Monday night to do that. He still has the talent he was drafted for and just needs something to grab his heart to be connected again.

I think the Bears intend to hire a great HC. If that HC wants his own GM and that is the hang up for signing, then Poles will be looking for work. Poles career has not gone as well as he planned. Nate Davis for instance, blindsided him. A few draft picks were wasted on trades and bad players selected. I am not saying Poles has been bad, because he has done decent with the tools he had. This offseason he can be in great position to fill some major voids with the first 4 picks in the draft that could redeem his job. But if a great HC wants someone else to work with, then we have to end the Poles era.

Did you catch Kurt Warners thought on Caleb's low INTs. He said he is playing too safe and needs to take more risks. The score echoed this. I screamed nooo.

And this is with "Coach" Keenan Allen and DJ Moore, two journeyman wrs. I am not sure how they would allow this. You would think they would have a voice.
