  1. Vernon Davis is also 6'-3" 250 lbs, ran a 4.4 forty, and has a beast physique. That takes years of sculpting, Thomas Jones was probably the last player the Bears had that any type of physique.
  2. The old proverb...a picture is worth a thousand words but does not tell the whole story. Yes, he looks like a 5'9 skinny kid. He cut 10 lbs, but looks lean/skinny. His offseason program mainly cut bodyfat by the looks. Have to remember he is still 6-3, 250 and the picture doesnt give you that. That picture tells me 5'9 200.
  3. Maybe, just maybe McClellin excels at this transition. I can see Shea and Bostic filling the SLB/MLB and Greene developing into a WLB , Greene was compared to Briggs coming out of the draft. If Bostic can grasp the MLB, he has leadership qualities. It's a lot to hope for, but with proper coaching, why can't it be done?
  4. Rees was replaced by Everett Golson who was more of a dual threat. Also, Rees threw some costly INTs that the fans didn't forget. But he does hold the completion record at ND. Maybe they are thinking UDFAs, with the QBs they brought in.
  5. I posted a mock on another board with the Bears taking Donald, Ward or Bucannon, then Joyner rd 3. He would make a perfect nickle that can be a CB/S/OLB type rover. I then followed taking Brooks rd 4, wishful thinking lol. Our backfield would be sick with a front of Donald, Allen, Houston, and Ratliff.
  6. I will agree SCS, WR is not the biggest need. If the bpa in rd4 is a WR and he is rated much higher than another position of need, then I can see the pick. This team will not fill all the holes in one offseason. This year I'd like them to find starters at DT, S. A#2 RB and CB are high on my list. QB to groom as a backup should be a thought. Then possible TE, Cody Lyerla could be a steal. The first two picks have to be hits.
  7. Looking at the 2015 draft class, it looks like it could be a healthy one for CB. I don't see much size over 6'-1", so maybe we take a flyer on one of the bigger ones this year. 1- Ifo Ekpre-Olomu CB Oregon 2- PJ Williams CB FSU 3- Trae Williams CB MSU 4- Jalen Collins CB LSU 5- Alex Carter CB Stanford
  8. plan a: 1-Donald DT 2-Tuitt DT 3-Terrence Brooks S Plan b: 1-HHCD FS 2 Tuitt DT 3. A Johnson DT 3
  9. One thing I don't understand is how Tuitt is considered a second round player. Compare his game numbers and combine results with any of the other prospects and he is a top 3 or 4 DT. Early mocks had him in the top half on draft boards too. Even when Nix was lost for most of the season, Tuitt still played well despite being the target on the line. If he makes it to round two, Emery better get on the phone.

    Backup QB

Not at all, only ones I take some liking to. I have him flagged bc Trestman or Emery mentioned something about the ideal QB is 6'5". This kid is 6'6" and would need a lot of work, so I wouldn't take him with our first 5 picks.

    Backup QB

His accuracy is because of bad footwork, that can be worked on. His quickness and decision making can improve with condfidence. He is very raw because he was recruited as a TE in college. Didn't play the position until 2010. I think he is perfect to groom. He is also durable and played 40 straight games.

    Backup QB

He was a QB I looked into some since he matched up with some criteria that fit Trestman.
  13. Umm, yeah. Looks like we traded our future first round picks for the next 3 years, but I'd take those guys.
  14. I do miss the all day affair and then waking up on Sunday to finish out a few more rounds. What was also fun was the chat room seemed to be full almost the entire time. Now it's usually just a few minutes before the selection and then gone.
  15. RB is absolutely a need, maybe not with the top 3 draft picks, but Forte is getting up there in mileage and the Bears do not currently have a solid #2 option.
  16. Add Calvin Pryor S to the list, the Bears brought him into Halas for a private workout.
  17. Throw Bellamy in the mix too. I'd rather draft Charles Sims RB to be #2.
  18. He is a returner/gunner. Weems may be released soon. He also came up through KC, so Emery has ties.
  19. #Bears agree to terms on 1 yr deal with TE Matthew Mulligan. He's primarily a blocking tight end and has ample experience. Per Brad Biggs Emery is still filling the cupboard.
  20. Phil/Mark, I was joking...
  21. The Bears will be bringing in multiple options to try out, just because he left without a contract doesn't mean that they are not interested. They will most likely have at least 4 bodies in camp. Bring back JaMarcuss Russell!
  22. Freemans first 4 years stats are comparable to Jay Cutlers and John Elways. Spiano came in and right away wanted his own QB. So Freeman and him didnt get along and Freeman wanted out. Take it for what it is worth, his stats were not horrific. His mentality might have been bad last year, but that can happen when the head coach doesn't want you.
  23. You mean Garza I assume Very interesting signing though. Maybe Garza moves to G and Ling to RT?

    Panic?

I wouldn't rule out Bostic or McClellin as MLB yet either. They will try them out and see how they go. As for CB, I think with Tillman/Jennings in the fold, we can wait. CB is deep this year and I think we can get Aikens in towards the 5th. We definateltly need DT/S, if the top two are gone then I'd understand a CB.
  25. What I feel happened with JA and his drafting was Lovie and the coaching, and some bad luck. I never seen player development. How many years did it take before Lovie specifically worked with Daniel Mannining? How many of their picks were lost to injury...Dvorecek comes to mind. To become sucessful, you have to hit on all aspects. Selecting the right person, positions to groom, having a program to develop, and so on. The player development seemed to lack previously and my thought was always Lovie didnt like rookies.
