I wonder if one of the WR's got injured b/c Rashied Davis was also on the field a lot.
  2. Made the journey to Minneapolis and at first I was bitter with the situations. Not only was the game a classic being outdoors in Minnesota, but seeing Farve's last salute, the Bears clinch, and best of all for me-Hester's NFL record made that game a memory for a lifetime. Hester will go down as a great, surely not a top 10 all time, but a legend in his own making. He has a very good chance of being a HOF'er but right now that's iffy. The record is broke and the Superbowl kick off will help, but he will need to make it untouchable IMO.
  3. Well I make lemonaide out of these lemons! Had sweet tickets for the dome 35 yd line, 20 rows up behind the Bears. Now gonna freeze my arse off, I have no idea where are seats are???, and it's a college stadium = no alcohol! grrrr

  5. I think we need to really take Moffitt also in RD3, forget the DT. Then next year draft two OT RDs 1 and 2 to push/replace Williams and Omiyale. Let Tice draft his own guys to groom.
  6. After watching the Bears continue to get stuffed on the goal line, Jerry Angelo better draft oline (once again). I want to see us bring in some big gritty porkers that can control the line for years. Other needs I see DT, Harris is done. CB to bring depth/competition. RB-change of pace back w/ top end speed. DE to keep pressure on competition. LB to replace Hunter and play ST. 1-26 Mike Pouncey G Florida 6-5 320 Can play center also, but projects as a guard. Strength is his power at the point of attack and athleticism. 2-58 Kristopher O'Dowd C USC 6-5 298 Extemely strong center that excels in the run game. 3-90 Colby Whitlock DT Texas Tech 6-2 287 4-122 Mario Butler CB Georgia Tech 6-1 182 4.42 40 5-154 Derrick Locke RB Kentucky 5-9 190 4.37 40 6-186 Eddie Jones DE Texas 6-3 260 4.71 40 7-218 Jonus Moulton LB Michigan 6-2 228 4.56 40 Chris Williams LT --Mike Pouncey LG --Kristopher O'Dowd C--Lance Louis RG -- Frank Omiyale RT
  7. With at least 7 picks in next years draft, lets hope we use 2 out of the top 4 on Oline next year. Highly unlikely, but well need 2 guards and possibly a RT real soon. I still have hope for Omiyale and now that we have a coach known for grooming Oline, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  8. Looking over the whole draft now, there's only one pick I would've made different if I were GM. But overall, with 5 selections that we took in the given slot, JA did alright. I guess CB depth was more important than OG depth in their eyes. Well see. RD3 - Major Wright FS - Best S on the board. He's a vocal leader and started as a Freshman for Florida. RD4 - Corey Wooten DE - If it weren't for an injury, he wouldve been RD1 talent. Depth needed if Anderson leaves next yr RD5 - Mitch Petrus OG - Powerful interior lineman that would improve anyones run game. RD6 - Dan LeFavour QB - Looking at what else we couldve taken, I'm very happy with QB. Other considerations: Ramon Harewood OT, Myron Rolle SS, Kyle Calloway OT. RD7 - J'Marcus Webb OT - Young big kid Tice can work on molding.
  9. I've heard a lot of positive news on Iglesias from other Bears. Iglesias likely will have a hard time seeing the field, but catches everything and can get the YAC. Maybe if we start seeing 4 WR packages with Martz, this kid will get an opportunity.
  10. I'm debating Miami which is a Thurs night game or the Buffalo game for my away game. Trying to travel once a year. Last year did Cincy.

    With the Bears? Awesome!
  12. Here's my take: RD3 Myron Lewis CB/S Vanderbilt -6-2 203 Great size/speed combo, can blitz, good hands, run stopper, long arms. --->similar to Tillman, one of the two will move to FS RD4 Zane Beadles G Utah - 6-4 310 Smart and very fundementally sound, good run blocker, works hard/stays on block --->Allows Oyimale to move to RT RD5 Brandon Spikes LB Florida 6-3 250 Run stuffer, great awareness and recognition, coverage. Slipping after combine. ---->3rd RD+ talent that slid b/c of poor 40 time and character issues. Game on field better than combine in shorts showed. RD6 John Estes C Hawaii -6-2 295 Short arms but high fb IQ with toughness, quick and balanced. ---->Clone of Kreutz, comes from the cradel of centers. RD7 Danny Batten DE S. Dakota St- Natural run stopper, leader & high effort. ----->Marinelli project to find someone to play opposite of Peppers FA signees: Malcom Sheppard DT Alabama 6-2 285 Ideal for one gap, good lat-quickness, explosive in pass rush, good instincts. Naaman Roosevelt WR Buffalo 6-0 190 Good route runner, reaches top speed quickly, gets seperation, smart, proto-slot WR.
  13. I don't have a problem with them cutting Brown. He was a player I liked and respected, but with the addition of Peppers, Brown became expendable. Peppers has had more success playing RDE Brown, even though it's unknown, hasn't tried the LDE Mark Anderson played fairly well filling in for Ogun at LDE Idonje can also play LDE Melton has made big strides and coaching staff is liking him So even though Brown was a respected player, the 5 million dollar question was can he play LDE or move from side to side like Peppers likes to do through out the game. The Bears are betting he can't and thought enough of the others to back their decision. I also like them looking to develop a guy like Melton.
  14. Great reply. This will get me some names to look up and follow throught the pro days. The draft is only a month away and it is so hard to follow this year with no picks until RD3.
  15. Please add some names and insight. I'm slowly looking into players for this draft. Round 3 Morgan Burnett FS Georgia Tech 6-1 209 4.58 (40) - good size/speed combo Reshad Jones FS Georgia 6-1 214 4.54 (40) TJ Ward FS Oregon 5-10 211 4.57 (40) Jared Veldheer OT Hillsdale 6-8 312 Jon Asamoah OG Illinois 6-4 305 - top Big Ten oline, but short arms Mike Johnson OG Alabama 6-6 312 Sevish Capers OT West Virginia 6-4 308 Perrish Cox CB Oklahoma St 5-11 195 4.53 (40) - Did well against good WR's, decent size/speed Syd'Quan Thompson CB California 5-9 186 4.52 Donavan Warren CB Michigan 5-11 193 4.59 Would love to see: Morgan Burnett FS (RD3) and Mike Johnson G (RD4) Sam Young OT (RD5) Brian Jackson CB/FS (RD6) Marcus Easly WR (RD7)
  16. It's really hard to fairly judge the CB's last season. There was the carousel of moving Graham, Tillman missed all of preseason with recovery from off season surgury, Bowman missed most of preseason with injury. The lack of pressure from the front 4 and the loss of Urlacher also magnified the deficency. I wouldn't call CB a top need unless they plan on moving Tillman. I think the Bears hang loose from now until the draft. They go in with their big board set as: RD3 1) FS - if their guy isn't their they shift their next thought to....... 2) CB- they can move Tillman to FS and start the season with Bowman/Graham as CB??(unless rookie can unseat) and Tillman/Alfava S. 3) OG- if FS and CB don't impress the Bears, OG becomes the target
  17. Everyone is using the Boldin trade to determine value for a player like Olsen. Boldin is much older, hit his peak (especially with Warner/Cards high power offense) and his contract is fairly high and he wants more $$. Olsen has two years remaining on his rookie contract, hasn't hit his peak yet and is showing some promise as an elite TE prospect. I'm not sure Olsen is worth a 2nd, but it's close IMO.
  18. I really like this one too! Covering the same needs just in a little different order.
  19. Using drafttek for slot selections, here is my mock after todays key FA signings. 2-47 (from New England/Olsen) Vladimir Ducasse OG UMass 3-75 Major Wright FS Florida 4-106 Mike Neal DT Pur 5-137 Marcus Easley WR UConn 6-171 Brian Jackson CB OKL 7-202 Erik Cook C New Mex Since the Bears addressed some key needs in FA, they will turn to the draft to add some youth to the mix. The decision to trade Greg Olsen was a tough one, but the Bears brass knew they would have to part ways when they decided to hire Mike Martz (thus the reasoning it took so long to decide). They recieved the second of New Englands second rounders and with that draft OG Vladimir Ducasse from U Mass. Ducasse is 6-4 332 and is more known for being a road grader, but can hold his own in pass protection. The Bears were hot on Antrel Rolles tail before FA officially started, but bowed out when he wouldn't budge on making 8 million a year and becoming the highest paid safety. They decided to pursue their FS in a deep draft and pick Major Wright from Florida. Jerry Angelo can't have a draft without a defensive lineman. In the fifth round, he selects Purdue DT Mike Neal. Neal has some speed and is also considered a tweener DT/DE. The Bears can put him in the redshirt closet for a year to see if Harris can come out of his funk. Marcus Easley is a raw WR prospect from Connecticut with some size and speed. 6-3 210, the Bears hope with time he can become the big target Cutler covets. Brian Jackson from Oklahoma is a nice size CB that can be physical. With the 7th RD pick, the Bears take NFL'er Ryan Cook's brother from New Mexico. Erik Cook can groom behind Kreutz and gives the Bears an option to keep Beekman as a backup swingman for C/G. This draft will only bring two guys they hope can contribute right away in Ducasse and Wright. The following guys will battle for ST's and practice squad positions if they don't get redshirted.
  20. Don't forget Hester has made the probowl too. Not as a position player, but his return abilities really carried us a long way on the Superbowl run.
  21. I don't understand why they can't give Iglesias a shot. From multiple reports out of the locker room, Iglesias has been tearing it up and preforming in practice. I know he's similiar to what Bennett offers, but you drafted him!!! I can't figure out this team and it frustrates me. JA was commended on these last couple of drafts on bringing in some talent. But for some reason, Lovie likes to take his time in bringing them in. So with that the case, as JA said himself, he sees nexts year roster pretty much staying the same. 2009 Gilbert, Iglesias, Moore, Knox, Afalava 2008 Williams, Forte, Bennett, Harrison, Bowman, Davis
  22. Thats the worst song ever, they even have the little bouncy ball to follow the words with. I hear ya on the price tag, would've been well worth it with a victory. We left early too, couldn't "BEAR" watching and when old men start talking trash to you, ya know its time.
  23. Who Dey, who dey! Went to that game also.....the half time trip to the bathroom was god awful. I thought if the Bears couldv'e came out with life that there were enough Bear fans there to make it like a home game. That was terrible. At least Sat night was fun, had dinner at the Brazilian Steak house and had Knox/Hester/Harris and others sitting next to us. That was cool. Also as we were hanging out at the Westin hotel, seen Virginia and Mike McCaskey walking into the hotel.
  24. I would really like to wait on Wale, I want to see him play for a contract extension b/c he never reached the level I expected from him when we traded/signed him. Maybe playing w/o security will step up his level. As for Idonje, it would be nice to see him get an extension.
  25. Sounds like a good idea and I think it would even be cooler if we can produce a mock draft that would be submitted to hailed redskins mock draft board. I'll be honest, I only watch a handful of college games mainly Notre Dame and Illinois. Then a game here or there when I'm bored on Sat. afternoons. If you get something going, I wouldn't mind chipping in.
