  1. Poles and Flus took Caleb and teammates to an upscale Hollywood club to get a feel on how he is. Bet they don't do this with Maye, JJ, and Daniels
  2. Caleb should have took route and skipped the measurement.
  3. Add Trubisky for a year or two too.
  4. Throw back to 2018, Bear selected C James Daniels, Iowa, in the 2nd round. They opted to play him at G and let the vet Cody Whitehair start at C. I think they did so because they were on the verge to greatness and wanted a vet making the play calls. The double doink was the end of that season Bobbie Massey RT, Kyle Long RG, Cody Whitehair C, James Daniels LG, and Charles Leno LT. Would our drought at C been fixed if they left him there to learn. Poles let him walk, was that a mistake? Nate Davis pff graded at 52.9. Tevin Jenkins 72. James Daniels 62.
  5. It seems the Bears have struggled drafting elite talent at the major key positions since Finks: QB, DE, LT, WR (Alshon Jeffrie) Poles can knock 2 of those out of the park in this draft. This is what I love, a GM that gets it and knows what positions need to be addressed. Go back to previous eras where LBs and RBs were valued more than. DTs and O-line
  6. He helped direct the Bears to some good and bad: Charles Tillman, Lance Briggs, Rex Grossman, Tommie Harris, Tank Johnson, Nathan Vasher, Benard Berrian, Cedrick Benson, Kyle Orton, Daniel Manning, Devin Hester, Mark Anderson, Greg Olson, Matt Forte.
  7. He can use that excuse anywhere, not just the Bears. My inkling says he doesn't want Chicago because of there awful QB history and how they avoided committing to building around their QBs which included coaching. He may even see that with JF and possibly why Poles took less capital than rumored was offered to honor JF wish to end this soon and send him to a team of his choice.
  8. His love is in Chicago and then Buffalo. He helped bring the team to a superbowl even if he had a hand in JA selecting Grossman and Orton.
  9. That holds true until there is a leak he really doesn't want to play for the Bears. He holds all the power even though the Bears hold the chips to trade the rights to any team.
  10. Tell me where on the doll that Greg Gabriel hurt you. Greg has more connections to information than the bean counter that was canned. He was upset about Stein because he was a long time work friend. People don't like Greg because he is blunt and not afraid to say what is on his mind. I personally enjoy his work and I see he is still living in his glory day world, which is fine. Not all former scout, personal directors put themselves out there on a forum like he does. You say something and call him out, he will spit back. Greg was a Caleb guy, but he said he now has reservations from a scoop he had. It wasn't from Stein, but I believe another former scout, maybe last name Lucas. It is not a play to devalue Caleb, just that he has heard rumblings. Don't take it personal, I am just throwing my 2 cents on the old man.
  11. Trading Fields took away any leverage the Bears had. I am not saying this because I want Fields, only because I want the Bears to hold as much power possible. Knowing the Bears are now at his will, he can make demands since they have no one capable to give them a chance at competing this season. Rumor has it he wants to own the team, well he does now. The Bears can draft a lesser talent but then they will have more bumps in the road with a team nearly loaded. It is just a thought, but I don't see him doing this and I hope he realizes the potential playing in Chicago and sets a goal to be the next Bear statue placed near the entrance.
  12. Which is what can make the selection potentially dangerous since we are being sold on how he is the next coming. I chose Caleb because by the looks of the team today, they will be throwing him into the fire day 1. The other QBs might need to sit and put in work before getting under center. Stroud put up incredible numbers and a playoff trip, so now Caleb has to match or the fans will be restless and speaking.
  13. I wonder where Waldron wants Keenan lining up. He was a primary slot wr with the Chargers until this year they moved him all over. Tyler Lockett was a good slot wr with Waldron, so I project that is where Waldron plays him. Moore plays mostly outside at X, which is where DJ Metcalf plays the most at but Moore might fit in better at Z (Steve Smith/Hines Ward) leaving the X a priority which would be a perfect fit for LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. 6'4 209 4.33 40. This idea has trade down all over it. Trade 9 to Raiders for 13 for a 2024 3rd. Select WR Thomas Jr at 13 who's height and speed resembles Metcalf. 2024 Draft 1 Caleb Williams QB. USC T13 Brian Thomas Jr WR LSU 75 Zach Frazier C W Virginia T77 Bralen Trice DE Washington 105 Tyler Davis DT Clemson
  14. Picks: 1:1, 1:9, 3:75 and 4:122 I have a feeling Poles pulls a 2022 draft trade using the 3rd or 4th to move down. He turned a 5th into 4 additional picks. The 2nd will give them a great chance at their choice for DE, which is tough to concede to their second or third choice. Just my opinion on what they might do.
  15. Philly called the Bears before making the Pickett deal, did the Bears not want him there or were the Eagles not on JF list of teams to go to?
  16. I was talking QB justin Herbert. Someone joked and said trade khalil for a haul.
  17. The Superbowl interview with Harbaugh, he was sure excited about having Herbert. It would take a huge amount of draft capital and players to lure him.
  18. Holy Cow, the Eagles would rather have Kenny Pickett over Justin Fields. Justin Fields is going to be in the XFL, that is if they even want him, probably bagging groceries but he'd be missing wide open bags. Guys the writing is on the wall, no one wants JF1. 🤪
  19. Bears bring in their WR2 for a 4th rounder. Welcome Keenen Allen
  20. I don't see it and see that will be a high pick next year. He is vulnerable against the bull rush and he needs to improve drastically there to get the extension.
  21. What I do know is Poles is not committing to anyone until he knows them. He passed on one of the top DTs when we needed one because he didn't check Poles boxes. After he gets to prod CW, he can decide. For all we know is he can trade down for a haul, take MHJ and Nix if CW turns out to be a turd 😉
  22. Big no on Young, not worth the chance of him waking up. Poles wants a mentality and culture of team players that buy into HITS
  23. "Lastly, if they did trade Fields, that would save an additional $3M. So that is over $50M in effective cap space without doing too much." I thought JFs contract is fully guaranteed? Unless there is offset language built in that states if traded, that team pays the contract.
  24. The top 10 list came from the discussion Tues night on the score saying the top 3 WRs will all be gone before pick 8. I wanted to feel this out. It will be close and if one makes it to 8, I can see someone leap frogging the Bears to get Nabers/Odunze if there. That would leave blue chip LT/DE, but not the Bears top needs.
  25. I don't see that and see it being a difficult fire if they win 10 plus and either miss the playoffs or are wildcard losers.
