Declan Doyle withdraws name for Eagles OC positions, stays with Bears
Only if they fire the HC after 1 year. I think he will be a good OC and maybe should have been more here with all those 4th down and goals we blew.

Has Ian Cunningham Become...
Fingers crossed! No better way to re-tool the Defense and keep the offenses cupboard full.

Bears Free Agents
The 2026 salary cap is said to be around 301 to 305 million. The Bears are sitting around 304. They can make a few salary adjustments and move 1 or 2 players to add enough to sign a notable player, their draft picks, and in season operating needs. It will be a tight year but don't think they will sit on their hands.

Pick #25
The good thing is DT is pretty strong this year. Maybe not any top tier players but rds 1-3 have quality. A few of these guys seem to be older. Id be fine staying put or trading down. Maybe work a deal with a QB needy team looking to move back into RD1. Jets pick 33 and 2027 Rd 3 for pick 25. 2027 is supposedly going to be a strong class according to pundits. It doesn't help now, but next year we would be happy. If the NFL awards compensation for Cunningham even better.

Pick #25
Ozzy Trapilo and Sherman Turners injuries threw a wrench into the process. One established themselves at a premium position but is likely missing the next season or majority. The other was just getting into the mix and didn't get much established. Would have been good to see his fit. With the personal we have at DE and how DA schemes pressure, I can see them use those early picks on the interior dline. That day 1 of the draft will be hard since we are used to drafting the first half.

Protector of the Year Finalist
Id argue it was that 1st pick for DJ and Caleb +.

2026 Important Dates
They can release Edmunds now, but the Bears won't gain anything. Might as well hold onto him until March.

Has Ian Cunningham Become...
Erik Lambert has an article about this. Said Brad Biggs confirmed it. It is out there if you do some digging, took 10 seconds to google. "Ryan Poles will not block his assisants from advancing their careers." https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-bears/bears-insider-finally-sheds-light-on-ian-cunningham-comp-picks-situation/

Has Ian Cunningham Become...
If I was the Bears, I would confirm before letting him go. I see it as you, but with tweets or articles on it from notable sources, you never know.

Pick #25
Where do you see Sherman Turner playing going forward? 3T or DE, or DL-Joker? At 6-3, 290 he has quickness to penatrate. Determining his position will help slot this draft priorities. Let him and Dexter play 3Tand draft a 0-T like Kayden McDonald?

Has Ian Cunningham Become...
Many internet experts are saying no 3rd rd compensation picks. Poles needs to have an emergency discussion with the commissioner because this title GM will come with a pay raise. No matter who makes the final calls, its a promotion. If the commissioner sides with no comp, then that title should not be used or official.

Has Ian Cunningham Become...
A few weeks ago I brought it up that they played together at Boston College and that there was a rumor that Matt might want Poles as his GM. If Poles can block Ian from the job, he should (imo). The Bears cannot let the NFL/Falcons get away from acquiring our talent without compensation by using a loop.

Bears Free Agents
He might be a homer and see this out despite his targets. Seeing his team get closer to the big dance will be hard to walk away from. He was a 2nd option, then they drafted Odunze and signed Keenan the following year and Loveland and Burden the next. He would have to find a team with lesser talent and in this new era NFL, he would be a 3 or 4 at best.

Bears Free Agents
I can see the Bears drafting C/G. They can use another quality backup if they dont resign McFadden. Theres a couple 2nd-3rd rd C prospects id be good with in the 3rd. Id like to let a Center learn at least a year while being able to step in if needed. As for drafting a RB, it'll most likely be a 2027 target, but I predict BJ will want one he can cook with. We now see why he was rocking crazy after drafting Loveland. I think he has the same desire to find that in a RB.

When The Rubber Meets The Road - DJ Moore
You didnt get that email from Ryan Poles? Everything is speculation, scenarios, and clicks. Buffalo would be interested if they were not 11 million over the cap going into 2026. Tennessee has 100 million to spend, that is the team to work with

Pick #25
I seen some bad passes dropped and others that should be caught. They are in the big boy league, one making 25 million to catch, they need to be better both QB and WRs. BJ made sure to call that out so I expect it not to be an issue next season.
-
Pick #25
I was happy to see TTNL post Rams/season clip and they call out Randall El also. The WRs had a bad year with catching the ball and giving effort. They were all put on notice, not from the last play either.

Remainder of Playoffs
I think that weather had a huge effect on passing, but both teams are not on the same level as Sea or LA, or the beloved

When The Rubber Meets The Road - DJ Moore
Buffalo wants him. Would there 4th be good? We'd have back to back 4th round picks. Not sure they can designate it post June for more cap savings, if not how bout give DJ and a 5th for their 3rd. https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nfl/buffalo-bills/news/bills-predicted-pull-trade-bears-would-help-josh-allen/9eb01aa29c5b5a3ffbe9a502

Pick #25
Depends on the position target, you get a DL, OL, or another premium position, 5 years can make a difference. If they want a S, maybe trade down for more picks.

When The Rubber Meets The Road - DJ Moore
The only reason, if they do, is to boost the defense. We were very lucky this season and play a stronger schedule. If the Bears repeat the heroic comebacks again then its destiny, but I wouldnt count on it. Moore is valuable but for 27.5 mil, maybe not that much. That's your nfls top 10-12. Can they sacrifice defensive performance another year will be up to Poles and what the league feels about having Moore.

Keon Coleman
If there's a chance to bring in Crosby in a trade, I'd consider to free up the money.

Bears Free Agents
I laughed at Detroit for drafting Gibbs and then that ILB a few years ago round 1, so I get it. But would you rather have Gibbs or Swift if you had a choice? Its Gibbs for me, but no I wouldn't want to use a 1st, but a 3rd I can live with. The Bears oline was rebuilt, looked great except for Ozzys injury and now being out for most of the year. If Johnson sees a RB that would pair well with Monongai, I wouldnt be surprised if that happens. Swift will stick around next season but they will invest in another sooner than later to have a #1 guy by 2027. .

Bears Free Agents
How close do you think Monongai is to Swift? Maybe 60 swift/40 monongai? Next year that could flip. Draft one somewhere in rd 3-7 and when Swifts contract is up at the end of 2026 season he walks and the rookie is seasoned to shine with Monongai. The offense wont be totally off hands come draft. They can go WR(DJ), RB (DS), TE (CK), or OL to start prepping. They cannot keep all the vets, great teams know how to cycle.
