Great post, I can't argue the points at all.

Great post, I completely agree. I would love to see Urlacher and Briggs leave there heart on the field and to see there tear into another player for being boneheaded or what have you.
-
I amazed with Carroll the way his team continues to perform extremely well considering all the talent he loses every year.
-
I simply would feel sorry for JA if he ignored Oline and WR because us FANS would eat him alive.

I agree with Boston here on a 1 yr contract. Somebody said it earlier he is money his year. I would only give him a multi year contract if he could guarantee not to be a cancer and throw people under the bus. However that is not going to happen. He is simply the best WR in the league when his character does not get in the way. I believe he is one of the best to ever play the game but his character issues continue to get in the way.

I have seen several sources including CBS and prosportsdaily to go along with a couple of sports talk radio sights saying that the franchised because they want to get something for him instead of just letting him walk. But I have also heard conflicting reports saying that the they franchised him is because they simply don't know if Brady will be ready to go in time.

As much as I want to agree about the O side of ball I tend to lean towards defense myself. It kills me to say it because of how bad our WR corps is and our oline is not getting any younger and I would say that they outperformed in 2008. But the reason I am leaning towards the D is because of how bad they played for most of the year. How many games last year would we have won if the D was at least average? I know that we would have won the division easily though. If I had the choice I would want Peppers. I have had my eye on him since he played at North Carolina. 07 was indeed a very bad year for him, however look at his other years. He is clearly one of the better DL guys in the business. Forget about FAT ALBERT I don't even want to look him.

I agree I don't want delhomme either. He is nothing more than a decent QB in the league. I believe Orton can do better. What about Caleb Hanie. Are we forgetting that he is on this roster as well and he did great during the preseason. I know that it was against 3rd stringers but I was looking at how comfortable and relaxed he looked in the pocket. He has the ability to avoid the rush and take off to pick up some yardage. I am all for drafting a QB if there is a decent one out there. I do not want to go after a veteran that will want to start and cost a shit load of money.

I am all for upgraded the QB position. But not with Warner. 1) age 37 and not getting younger, would only be for 1 year maybe 2 years. 2) our Oline. It has been seen in the past when Warner is pressured he is absolutely horrible. Think Grossman except alot more fumbles. No thank you. I don't want someone who is more prone to turning the ball over and is older than Rex. I would rather have Rex as opposed to Warner. Absolutely NOT.

TalkBears Pick'em Contest Winners for 2008!
bowlingtwig replied to Pixote's topic in TalkBears Fantasy
Thanks for running everything again Pix. It was very competitive once again this year and I am still speechless on how I did in the Pickems. I have never done that well before. Thanks for getting the payment out so fast. I have already received and will post what I get on here as soon as I get it in the mail. It will probably be a couple of weeks. -
Urlacher on His Critics--They Don't know football
bowlingtwig replied to bradjock's topic in Bearstalk
This is why I would love to have Marrinelli. He is known for making his players accountable for there mistakes. The problem is Detroit was the GM was so stupid in drafting that he screwed Marinelli I believe. -
I agree. It seems that Manning has been moved positions every year and sometimes twice during a year. I love the fact that he just goes out there and does his job and doesn't complain. I think we should just leave him where he is irght now. He was really starting to play pretty well down the stretch except for the Houston game.
-
I would love to have Shanny and Holmgren. There record speaks for itself. The fact that Shanny was fired just blew me away.
-
I wouldn't be shocked to see Philly have a let down. They are very good about distroying someone 1 week and then forget to show up the next week. The 1 good thing they have going is that McNabb has made a career out of killing Minny. I don't think he has every lost to Minny and I know that he has something like 8 td's and 0 ints against them in his career. Pretty good if you ask me.
-
I completely agree DBDB. Our oline and WR is our biggest need. If we address those we can still address our D through FA our in the Draft. From what I know this year the oline is supposed to be pretty deep in the draft class. That is how we should spend our 1st round pick.

Urlacher on His Critics--They Don't know football
bowlingtwig replied to bradjock's topic in Bearstalk
I saw this to much from most of our LB's. That is why the cover 2 killed us when Urlacher and Co where showing blitz because your can't expect them to get back fast enough sometimes. Yes urlacher didn't have a pro bowl year but he still had a solid year none the less. -
I would love to see Mike Brown stay as a coach unfortunately I believe he will go else where as he has shown that he can still play the game. He was at least able to play almost 15 full weeks this time.
-
I believe Orton did a great job this year considering who he had to throw to. I don't believe that he is above competition. IMHO no QB in the league is above competition except for Peyton Manning and his 9 years of 4000+ yards. If we can bring in some competition at WR and Orton and Hester spend this offseason together learning each other and Orton learns how to throw deep with some consistency I think everyone here would say that we would have a tough offense especially with the emergence of Forte and Olsen continuing to get better and better. I also believe our main focus needs to be Oline AND a safety. I absolutely love Mike Brown but we saw what happens when he gets hurt. He is the heart and soul of that secondary.

Put me on record. I don't think Tebow will live up to all the talk about him pre draft. I think he might be a decent QB but only in the perfect system. I remember Grossman also came out of Florida and he put up great numbers as well and look at him. That system just doesn't produce NFL QB's. It is a great system for down there but it just doesn't produce NFL ready QB's

I am liking the weather for tomorrows game because Rodgers doesn't have much if any experience playing in cold weather let alone frigid conditions.
-
Your absolutely right we first of all MUST win tomorrow. I believe the Cowgirls will lose and Minny will lose but I just can't see TB losing to Raiders. Hey it could happen especially considering that Russell has been playing much better lately. And you know the Raiders will be all for killing the Bucs since they have had major problems since trading Chucky over to the Bucs. "I can find me a Jon Gruden in any Walmart in America" Still lmao. Way to go Al Davis

Chile I would love to join you.

I keep thinking back to the Packers Patriots game I think last year lol. In a way I am glad I am not going. I would freeze. I am pussy in weather like that. Right now here in Rockford it is -4 without the wind chill and the wind is blowing probably around 40 mph. I am not to figure out what the weather is with the windchill. I just know that it is real damn cold.

I am so glad you are able to keep everything straight. lol. Lets just take care of things Monday and let the chips fall where they will. If we win on Monday we will have a much better idea of playoff scenarios.
