Rumors
Where did that rumor come from? Everything I’ve seen said that the Bears were mostly on the sideline watching and were never serious contenders for Crosby.

Good agent getting out in front of the “nobody wants him” news. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2026/03/qb-kyler-murray-could-be-patient-in-free-agency#ref=home

That’s because it was weak. The new OC was demoted and removed from play calling which was taken over by the HC. I’m not the best at sorting out offensive play calling but there were a couple Detroit games where I couldn’t figure out what Campbell was trying to do on offense. Reminded me of Nagy where he was just calling something for the sake of calling it not because of anything he saw from the D that would give the play a chance to succeed. There is still a lot of talent there on offense and a good NFL QB is going to keep things “productive”. Since I don’t follow them closely I scanned some stats from last year and they fell back to middle of the pack in rushing while we improved to top 5. Passing they were still top 5. Regardless of where he ends up, Decker leaving them at least puts them in a similar spot we ended up in with Dalman retiring but at a more critical position. They will likely use their first pick on a LT. https://lionswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2026/03/06/detroit-lions-injury-analysis-taylor-decker/88896657007/ https://lionswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2026/03/05/detroit-lions-jedrick-wills-free-agency-visit/89005932007/

Yeah we don’t need 18mil for 5 sacks. I’d Decker wants and can get $25mil I’m out on him too. I also don’t trust the NFL rumor mill because media people are very simple minded and assume because he was making. 21 with Detroit and refused to negotiate that automatically means he wants more. We simply don’t know. He might just want a Super Bowl ring.

Bears trade for Center
It’s more than just that. It’s finding a guy who knows the calls both in pass pro and the run game because Ben likes to mix it up. Decker is ready week one. The first four weeks of last year were bad offensively. I’d love to hit the ground running right where we left off at the end of the year.

I was good with Biadasz at $10mil/yr but I think Bradbury at $5.7 is a better deal considering what else we can do with that cap space (i.e. FA LT). The sum of the Oline parts will be better. That’s still wishful thinking until we sign a LT.

He’s a 2nd tier FA that’s seems about right. I think he knows what his market value is. Detroit's offense was a bit of a circus last year. If you’re going to take less money maybe you just prefer to go play for the guy who you know can run an offense. That coach just happens to have a massive need at LT. No need to go through all work of learning a new offense either.

Does anyone have sources in the organization anymore? I don’t see a lot of leaks anymore. These days it seems like everyone just reads tea leaves.

Crosby off the board
Go get Decker and a DT. Fill out the safety spots, one LB and let’s go drafting.

Crosby off the board
I’m very glad Poles held off on that deal.

Bears trade for Center
He’s pretty good in pass protection and not so good in run blocking. Maybe last year he was dinged up a bit but it appears throughout his career that’s been his MO. Dalman was the opposite although he had a higher floor in pass pro than it appears Bradbury has as a run blocker. Bradbury now has two good run blockers next to him to help him out and I expect we’ll be drafting our future Center. I like this move a lot…if we follow it up with drafting a talented future starter.

I think we end up with Tyler Decker as our LT, maybe a 2yr deal but with 1yr guaranteed so we can cut him loose in a year if we want to.

Maybe he sees the ship taking on water and prefers to leave now

I also prefer the long term approach versus going after the big name FA this year. If this year works out well and we continue to improve then we can look at finding that one missing piece next year.

DJ Moore traded to Bills
I agree I don’t want to give up two firsts.

DJ Moore traded to Bills
Someone here keeps saying he’s had a bunch of knee surgeries. I actually don’t know his history but at a mínimum needing one surgery last year qualifies as a reason IMO.

Rumors
The same Oline coach who told them I know what playing LT looks like in the NFL and didn’t see that from any of them?

Rumors
I think any team giving up two first the deal would already be done. Deals are getting done and the Raiders are not getting what they want so they queue up the rumor mill.

DJ Moore traded to Bills
Stepping back and looking around the league: The 2nd Rd pick likely means there was good competition for DJ and I suspect NE was that main concern the Bills had. Maybe we’re going to see a bit of an arms race in the AFC. Will the Patriots trade for AJ Brown? I thought DJ might be part of a deal to bring Crosby here. That might not be totally out of the question if we use our 2nd Rd picks in that manner. Perhaps the Raiders only valued DJ as a 3rd Rd equivalent? Poles turns around and says here is a 2nd instead of DJ. I still lean toward not spending big money on a vet DE but can’t deny how much of a game changer Crosby is as a player.

DJ Moore traded to Bills
Now go get us a 2nd rd pick for Bagent.

League Wide Open Thread - Free Agency Edition
The thing for me is that I simply do not see a center as a game changing position. The fact we have some of the best OGs in the NFL next to a Center, and a really good RT too should mean we can get by with a good but not elite center. Dalman stretched that model last year with his huge contract but at the time we needed that gap closed and he was best available option. Now we know better what we have and we don’t have as much of a learning curve across the entire offense. (I watched Bear Down w/ Adam Mason and also Da German Bears reviews on centers earlier today) Despite that elite contract Dalman still had flaws and was exposed at times in pass protection, both 1v1 and on stunts where he completely whiffed on his block. Biadasz graded out similar to Dalman but he’s not as nimble and won’t be able to make those really wide reach blocks. Yet he’s still good at them and he’s got a better anchor in 1v1 pass pro which would be nice to have. He’s also really quick at picking up stunts. For $10mil/yr (if that is a realistic price tag) I don’t think we’ll see any dropoff in the offense although some things might look different based on his traits (because we have a coach who leverages talent and skillsets). If my luck holds out I might be able to use the left over cap space to bring in Trent Williams for a couple years. That’s a swing for the fences but I would do that and then just use my entire draft to go fix the D. Signing Trent also removes him from a key NFC opponent which only helps us more in the playoffs. If he hits the market, he will definitely be looking to go to a playoff team with a good QB and OC/HC. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/trent-williams-great-news-bears-163912846.html
