  1. Orton will wear number 8 for the broncos. There is not a player with 18 on the roster so I ahave no idea why the number change.
  2. Last year Cutler publicly put the word out there his wishes for the Broncos to draft Bennett whom instead drafted Eddie Royal who was sensatonal as a rookie. This will be interesting to follow what Royal does with Orton and Bennett can do reuniting with his college QB Cutler this year in Chicago!
  3. Let's not forget that Shanahan traded up in the first round to select Cutler with the 11th overall pick! So your are right they have spent more on Cutler when you include what it will take to replace him with a new potential franchise QB. The bears already wasted enough first rounders trying to get offesive skilled players that they won't miss the picks they gave up. Actually they probably save boats load of money that would have been guarnteed to future 1st round busts!
  4. I like Robiskie! He is very polished and could start as a rook!
  5. I live in Denver and have been following this very closely as you might have noticed by my postings of how much I really wanted this to happen for the Bears and still can not believe. The local media and fans are trashing Cutler and it is just amazing how they are rationalizing losing Cutler. One fan called in and was trying to explain over the air how he wanted to start the cry baby wave for when Jay returns to denver in the 3rd preseason game? Cry Baby??? Really?? I don't recall hearing many sound bytes of Culter nor his agent throughout this whole ordeal. Infact they kept a fairly tight lip on things behind closed doors with all things considerd. Bolen gave the reigns over to a 32 hc who crashed the on his first time out. My analogy would be if you got a new boss that rubbed you the wrong way and then to add insult to injury told he was going to fire you for one his guys. Then tries to deny that was the case now that guy took another position elsewhere and now wants you back? Cutler is a stud and I will give 5 reason why it was worth the deal: 1) Can't win the superbowl w/o an elite QB 2) Benson, Terrell, Haynes, Grossman, all first round picks who did not live up to expectations 3) Org. has proven track record of not being able to draft and develop own elite QB 4) Put's Def and rest of players on notice that we are setting high expectations going forward (also boosts morale) 5) keeps Jay going to divisional opponents Love this aquisition!!!!
  6. I have been repeating things like "is this Real Life" "why is this happening to me" "Is this going to be like this forever" ????? Borroweds those lines from "david after dentist" video on youtube but I was speaking with a Darth Vader voice! Absoultuley can't beleive this came true"""
  7. I would rather keep Orton and Draft Mark Sanchez, OL or WR with the first - 4th rounds. No to J. Campbell he just doesn't have IT.
  8. Well he has been able to get the Broncos willing to trade him? So he and his agent are working from a point of leverage mainly becasue of his pro bowl production at the most important positon on the field and oh by the way he is only 25! So he may not be able to literally veto a deal he can threaten to hold out and refuse to report which may scare off some potentiall suitors. If Elway and Eli can force a trade during the draft before playing a down in the NFL than I say its a good bet that Jay could finego a trade to one of the teams he would like to play for.
  9. You are forgetting that Jay played his second season with Type I Diabetes before being diagnosed in the offseason prior to last year which contributed to some of his poor play at times. Now that this is under control he rebounded to have a pro bowl season. I should clairfy for QB's in his age group and that I would like to build my team around. And right now he is the only one currently available. Brady will have to prove he can rebound fro his knee injury even though NE has little doubt since they traded Cassel to KC. Rivers / Cutler / Ben
  10. Cutler is the key to bringing home a perenial Championship Contender. JA pulled a Kenny Williams and must have had a true candid reflection on the direction of the organization when he stated a few months ago that the key to winning is upgrading the QB postiton! Williams recently won a world series and identified the future success of the organization would be determined on retooling and adding young talent to the organization. I would say he is on the right track with some of the moves he has made over the past 2 years. Here is why I belive this to be true if we can just do what it takes to aquire Cutler: - We all know JA can get the DEF sqaured away in one draft as he has been good at drafting DEF! - JA is good with managing the CAP - He has also done a good job at patching an above average OL together when needed (which will buy time to draft or sign younger talent to protect Cutler) - JA does need some luck with getting a play making WR (we did have Berrian but the price was not right and JA let him go) -- JA has done a nice job with getting TE's as well as special teams WHAT WILL BE THE BEARS PLAN IF WE FAIL TO GET JAY CUTLER? FILL IN THE BLANK _____________________________
  11. What is insane is that the Bears can not Draft and develop their own stud Franchise QB so now they must pay whatever price they must to aquire one!
  12. Obviously you have your own opinion but don't let a comparison to George be what scares you away. 1st JG had trouble staying healthy and the biggest issue is that he played on some bad teams from what I remember so that problay had more to do with his attitude than anything. I don't think they are that close talent wise asside from arm strength but Jay is much more durable and also more mobile than JG was. At this point the Bears need to over pay for a talent like Culter and the franchise can not afford to miss out on this opportunity! I live in the south Denver burbs and have been follwing this story for weeks. People keep ripping on Jay's attitude problem but he is not running his mouth in the media and has been letting his agent do his job behind the scenes. Since McDaniels made it known he did not prefer Culter than Jay has has every right to demand a trade and has a lot more leverage than people think. If Jay does not like the team the Broncos try and trade him to than he can sit out and swear not to report. Additonally how is this any different than what Elway did when he swore he would not play a down for the Colts and thus forced a trade to Denver just like Eli did with the Chargers and Giants a few years ago. The major difference is the latter QB's did this with out playing a down in the NFL unlike a young Pro Bowl QB in Jay Culter who also happens to be in the top 3 or 4 qb's in the league with potential to get even better!
  13. simply that Bolen allowed this to happen by entrusting the keys to his franchise to a 32 yr old kid who alienteated the best thing in Denver since T. Davis and Elway.
  14. I have a better Question: What the hell does a 32 year old first yr head coach with only 1 month experience as head coach know any way? I put all the blame for this Culter fiasco on 2 people: Bolen and McDaniels. We all know that Belicheck is the brain trust that drives the success in NE not his coordinators which whom have be highly sought after over the years only to be fired after a few years with their respective organizations. Bolen totally screwed up his franchise in Denver who without Cutler will be lucky to win 3 games this season. Right now Culter is a top 3 or 4 QB in the league. Far from Perfect yes but he has improved each year with no running game, def and 2 very good WR and a above average TE okay OL.
  15. How about Harris to Cleveland and Quinn to Denver with Cutler going to Chicago as a starting point?
  16. I would offer Tommie Harris, Orton and this years number 1 pick. This would allow Denver to trade up in the draft for Sanchez if they felt he was their QB of the future. Chris Sims is a very capable stopgap and he and Kyle could battle it out. But like someone esle already stated you make evryone available and make it happen! We are not expecting this team to have a great year but if we added Cutler and built up the OL than next year we could add a few more players on "D". This is the perfect storm in Denver and I hope that JA and the Bears can get this done! This team will not win a superbowl until we have a modern offense mainly because the SB is played in warm weather cities or domed stadiums. There are no more championship ice bowls!
  17. Here is an intringuing prospect in Dudley Guice - WR - Northwestern State that could be a late round selection: undefined
  18. Not only would Matt Jones beable to come in and make our WR group better but by signing him we can keep him from signing with a Division rival. So it would serve two purposes by signing him not including the draft flexibibity or maybe the ability to make a run at Cutler? Sign him!!
  19. Funny thing is that the Bears IT staff can not even get a player's profile added to their team web site for new players until the season is almost over and sometimes longer. I have even emailed the Bears to complain but that did not work. So wether the Jeremy Maclin bio postings was a mistake or the Brown's staff just being overzelous but I can not blame their eagerness to get updated info for fans unlike the Bears!!
  20. If our past drafts were not so lop sided defensively than we would not have been in the position in the first place. I say adding a WR like Boldin and an OT and or OG would do wonders for this offense and we can sign a stop gap S and address our Def in next years draft. Let the kids play as Kenny Williams has done while reinfusing some youth back into the Whitesox which is excactly what the Bears need to do starting with the OL. As AZ54 made the point about Boldin's ability to stay healthy and that would be my primary hold up on pulling the trigger on this trade. Sometimes it makes sense to rebuild and with this years depth at WR and OL that would make sense for the Bears especially since we got the extra 3rd rounder. But it would be cool to see the offense with a few more weapons instead of being the red head step child of the Bears! Now is there a Defensive player we have that could be packaged for Boldin? I know this is not madden but would you offer Harris or Vasher along with a 4th?
  21. I really like Nicks's hands and physical style but I hope we take an OT in the 1st and tradeup to get Robiskie or Britt in the 2nd. I just want guys who can get open and catch the ball! We need to worry about moving the chains and already have a deep threat with Hester.
  22. That is Lovie's cliche! Just had to point it out that I even have found myself saying that as well! Would love to get 2-3 OL and 2 WR's out of this draft. We can always bring brownie back if there is nothing in the draft and worry about upgrading the "D" next year. It has been far to long of a drought on the drafting of Offensive players for this team and we need to change that this year!
  23. I like your thinking and this is the year that we should be drafting quality of quanitity. Best Player / position avaiable is what good teams draft and will stay disciplined by not reaching for need. Last year when we had 3 7th rounders and still missed on takling a FB Peyton Hillis that could have helped immediatley for a WR/LB/ OT whom only 1 made the team on ST. Hopefully the Broncos will dump him as well! I would applaud JA if he was able to get one of the top 6 OT and also move up in draft to get 2 of the following 3 WR's Hicks / Robiskie / Britt! This makes sense beacuase these are 2 of the deepest positions in this years draft OL & WR so we should focus on fixing our problem areas from the draft's stronger talent stronghold!! We need to draft 2 WR's this year to help infuse this positiion with talent
  24. Could you add a FB to that list! Sorry I just realized you were only targeting the fisrt round. We have to sure up the OL in the 1st and then trade back up to get either Nicks or Robiskie in the 2nd!
