Lovie is back. The 5-9 Cardinals had a good D that is the Bears weakness, and now they face the 4-11 lions. they are potent but, still 4-11 see you next season lovie
-
Lovie is so great with challenges lol

I'm to the point of indifference. I'll be happy to see the Bears win, and know that over all it helps if they lose. More likely for a coaching change, and a better draft pick . This game is win, win for me. Now if the Bears lose this one, I can't promise I won't root against them for a better pick vs. a meaningless win against a 4-11 team.

Hester, Hester, Hester

I think the Bears want the Cowboys to win. If they win out they have the tie breaker over the Giants. The Bears have the tie breaker over the Cowboys. Edit: Nevermind, it gets more confusing, I forgot they play the Redskins the final week. Them winning out would put them in the Divisional game. I hadn't looked at the scenarios since last weekend and shouldn't have spoken.

If the Bears go 8-8 or 10-6 really doesn't matter to me. Either you think Lovie will get the team to a Super Bowl win or not. If he is that guy, then you keep him at 8-8. If he's not, you fire him even if the team makes it to the championship game. After 9 years, I just don't think he is the guy that can put it all together as a team.

Its late in the year to fix anything. I do think that should have been addressed earlier in the year, even if it was when the team was up like you said. He needs confidence in more than one player. And like others have said, more screens. Forte is too much of a passing threat to not be used more in the passing game.
-
Id bench Marshall for the first few drives of the game, maybe even a whole game. Get Cutler used to throwing to other people again and getting his confidence up in them.
-
Are recoveries forced by the other team counted in that? Odd that KC has more recoveries than forced fumbles.
-
I don't have faith that that will happen. It definitely should tho. I imagine a big press conference, where Tice is let go. Then next year the same old.
-
I hope O'Bradovich is recovered from his surgery. It should make for some good entertainment after the game.
-
Impossible that that was the problem. He threw it to where Hester was, not where he was going. Hester would have had to come to a dead stop, stand there for a second or 2, and some how catch a stomach level ball with a defender on him.
-
That was just ugly, don't know what he was expecting Hester to do there

Totally agree. I was just saying if Lovie stuck around, then Marinelli is one of the few coaches that should stick around with him. Tice needs to be gone. I've thought about it all together since, and I actually think it's time for a change now. Earlier in the thread I said I would keep Lovie around another year due to the aging defense. The idea being, they are trained and know his system so well that the D could be competitive again another year. I've changed my mind now. A new coach, hopefully, will mean a different D system. While the players on the team may be ideal for Lovie's, I think it would better to switch now. Those same players would make the transition easier. If he stays, there will be more players brought in this offseason to fit his system instead of the one we would transition too sooner or later. Plus, it's been 9 years. If it was going to happen, the team would have won a Super Bowl by now. There's a lot of tape out there on this D now. Sometimes it's just time to move on.

Cant forget peanut who hasnt been the same since his foot got hurt

Jay Cutler himself did better last year with less than the Bears pass-catching "threats". So yes, I think a better QB would have done noticeably better. Last year Cutler had Johnny Knox, a OC that he couldn't stand, and the inability to audible. This year, Cutler lost Knox but gained one of the best WR's in the league in Brandon Marshall. They also added a rookie that most agree is better than the rest of the WR's on the team. I know Jeffery has been hurt, but his addition fit Jay's want for taller WR's. Plus, when he is on the field that should be 2 upgrades of the receiving threats last year. Cutler has the ability to audible. He was given his own qb coach/passing coordinator. The OC that he didn't like was also let go. Cutler should have stepped it up from last year with those additions/changes. He regressed.

Mare's longest kick last year was 45 yards. It could be interesting how the rest of the season goes.
-
I think they also said that Steltz and McMannis was placed on the IR too.
-
That's basically what I was trying to say earlier in the thread. It's not that I think he's near the worst QB in the league, I just don't think he is near the best either. I just wonder where he sees his value pre-hometown discount vs. his actual value compared to similarly talented qbs.

He mentioned him once today. One of the reporters asked him if he was hurt. Lovie said he took a hit. If I remember right, it was like he could have played if needed, but there was no reason to risk it.

EDIT: I decided to rewrite this due to many grammar mistakes and other errors. That way I can get rid of other posts I made and to make it a little clearer. Scenario: Bears only win 1 of the next 3 games. Will the Bears win the tiebreaker vs. the other team that reaches 9 wins? Chicago (8-5) Vs. New York (8-5) Giants already have 7 conference wins. The Bears will only be at 6-6 if they only win one of the next 3. Tiebreaker: Giants Chicago (8-5) Vs. Washington (7-6): Winner Washington. Washington will at least be 7-5 in the conference. Tiebreaker: Redskins Chicago (8-5) Vs. Dallas (7-6) The Bears have the Head to Head tiebreaker over Dallas. Tiebreaker: Bears Chicago (8-5) Vs. Minnesota (7-6) If the Vikings beat Green Bay they will have a better divisional record. If they lose, they still win like opponents with the win at Houston they would need to pick up. Tiebreaker: Vikings Chicago (8-5) Vs. St. Louis (6-6-1) Tie is better than a loss. Spot goes to: Rams Chicago (8-5) Vs. Tampa Bay (6-7) Same conference record. Same record against like opponents. It goes to Strength of Victory. The record of teams they beat. Tiebreaker: ? likely the Bears

He threw into double or triple coverage. He's been doing it constantly and it bit him in the butt twice this game. Jeffery may have been able to break it up if he didn't fall, but Cutler tried to force it. He gave the Vikings 7 points with his other int, while only driving for 7 points himself. He didn't do his job.
