I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like Hester and Cutler may have issues. He is wanting a fresh start on a random team so he can be utilized to play right. He doesn't think it will happen here even with a new coaching staff. He don't think he will fit, and doesn't want to play offense for the Bears. Only real common link is Cutler.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...start/#comments I hope he gets that fresh start. His mind wasn't in games according to him because he wasn't being used enough. He doesn't want to play offense for the Bears if he isn't traded. Let him go and free up some money for some O-Linemen. Trade him for Tebow or something, lol.

Thanks, I'll check it out. I have it bookmarked for now.

We get 670 barely here where i live. Depends on where you are. I listen streaming on the internet usually. What's 1000's call sign?

I know I could have tuned out, but I was excited that night about the Trestman hire and then the Kromer hire that morning. Being from Ohio, I rushed back from my Biochem class to hear it covered on their website. The Te'O story broke almost soon after I got home. I wanted to tune out, but had to hear about the Bears new coaches. The next day it was the same stuff, so i did tune out. I listened to the Presser and that was about it since. Are there any other Chicago sports radio stations?

Looks to me like Teo and Tuiasosopo were probably dating or some crap, I could careless. It all just ticked me off when the SCORE were covering that instead of the Head Coach the Bears hired that day.
-
It was just a couple weeks ago on the score he said he was done playing and looking to get into coaching. It's good to see him getting a shot so soon and in Chicago.
-
Looks great, they just missed on Marshall's hands
-
I'm guessing big special teams plays considering who else is up there.
-
Bout dang time, I've been wanting to see Drake gone for way too long.

The T'eo crap is annoying the crap out of me. I left class, came home and was pumped to listen to the score and hear about trestman and his hires. Instead, they would mention something real quick about it and couldn't wait to get back to talking about dead fake girlfriends. I get what happened, don't care. I want to hear about the Bears. I woke up to it again today, luckily the press conference got them off the subject some.

Dang, the Bears got a Head Coach candidate as a special teams coach. I'm loving this hire for so many reasons and from so many directions it's crazy. Emery thought out of the box. He was willing to not say, this meeting is 3 hours impress me and leave. He sat there over 8 hours with Trestmen the first meeting. He interviewed a lot of coaches and so on. He stuck to his process and hired his coach within hours of conducting his final interviews. I'm not going to say much about Trestman, cause I would I would go on forever. I'll just say one thing, stealing away the one of the top OL coaches in the first few hours is just brilliant. He's got play calling covered himself.

Thanks CanadianBear, the more I can read on Trestman the better.
-
When Lovie came in, he made the big statement that the first thing the Bears were going to do was beat the Packers. Trestman just came in and made a bigger statement with out saying a word. He stole arguably the best OL coach in the league within hours of being hired.

That's something I've picked up on too. The amount of hard work he supposedly does, and the 8+ hour interview reminded me a lot of Emery. Emery is definitely putting in the time with the search, thought out the flaws from last year, and took an extra long time with that 1 hour presser explaining everything. They both seem to be very methodical and go over every detail from what I've read and seen on both. Emery would be Trestmen if he was a coach, and vice versa.
-
I'm not big on Bevell, but Trestmen and Arians are 2 of my 3 favorites. I'm not really impressed with Bevell's body of work. If he beats out those other 2 great candidates in the final interview process, then I'll definitely be open to giving him a chance.

I started to make a descriptive top, but realized after I got to number 5 how winded I can be. With the finalists probably being announced Monday or Tuesday I'll spare you that. My 2 top requirements is potent offense and grooming QBs. Cutler needs a lot of grooming, and if that don't work the next QB will need it. My top 10 #1 Marc Trestmen Flat out, I laughed when I saw he was a CFL coach, but got blown away by his resume when I read up on him. #2 Pete Carmichael Drew Brees was so average, Rivers was drafted. He played above average before going to New Orleans and becoming elite. Carmichael had a hand in that, and has been a part of one of the most explosive offenses in the league despite no other stand out talent than Brees. # 3 Bruce Arians What he did this year speaks for itself. 1st round pick to the play offs after huge turn over and a rookie QB. 9-3 as an interm coach. #4 Tom Clements Knows the rivals offense and D well, helped Grbac, Kordell Stewart, and Tommy Maddox to pro bowls in consecutive years, helped develop Aaron Rogers. Been apart of a lot of great offenses. #5 Mike Sullivan I don't know a lot about the guy. He obviously impressed Emery tho, and must have something special to get the interview after such little experience in the NFL #6 Mike McCoy The Thomas comment this summer really stuck with me, as I follow Manning and thought dang he's a better OC then the OC there after reading that #7 Dave Toub Excels at what he does #8 Darrell Bevell He did great things with a rookie QB and Seattle this yet. They straight up wore the Bears out. #9 Rick Dennison He has a familiarity with some of the top offensive personnel, but Schaub seemed to have regressed this year under him #10 Mike Singletary He's not a ST coach and can be fun to watch on the sidelines. Definitely don't want to see him hired.

I'm not sure he will be back. It does sound like Emery has in mind who he wants as a HC. If not, it seems likely he would use Toub as a reason for a coach to want to come to Chicago. Plus, the guy he interviewed may have said who he wanted to replace Toub with.
-
I read a few days ago he gave a presentation over 8 hours, I just never really found out if he was scheduled for less or not.
-
I was excited for a minute. Trestman is at the top of my list.

There is one guy that is going to be available. He's an awesome motivator. Players excel when they play around him. He has a huge passion for the game. He'd definitely put in the hours needed and you could see the passion on the sidelines. He's had experience with quite a few offenses and adapting to changes needed. The media absolutely loves him, so there wouldn't be the problems with the media Lovie had. He helped lead a team to a national championship. Yes, Phil Emery's net is so wide, I say he should interview Tim Tebow for the head coaching job. Those who can't play, make great coaches. He excels at every need Emery listed for a coach, and could be had cheaply. There's some outside box thinking right there, lol.

McCaskeys asked for Singletary to be interviewed.
-
I like that he is interviewing a lot of people. If one of his favorites was in the playoffs, he would have waited til this week to interview them anyways. This way he is getting practice interviewing and getting some looks at people that may blow him away, which he wouldn't have got if he just waited for Bevell, McCoy, Clements, or Arians.

You said Cutler can't play and gets killed, RG3 can't play and Shannahan gets killed. I was joking saying Cutler can't play in the first 3 quarters of a game. 1st Quarter: 55.1 QB rating, 4 TDs, 6 INTs, 2nd Quarter: 86 QB rating, 5 TDs, 6 INTs 3rd Quarter: 73.5 QB rating, 2 TDs, 3 INTS 1st quarter is horrible, 2nd quarter is on the higher end of average, and 3rd is just bad. Here's some scarier stats tho: Bears Ahead: 100.7 QB rating, 10 TDs, 2 INTs Bears Tied: 68.1 QB rating, 4 TDs, 4 INTs Bears Behind: 61.3 QB rating, 5 TDs, 8 INTs In games vs. the NFC North: 66 QB rating, 6 TDs, 8 INTs I was just saying hopefully the new coach that comes in can correct Cutler's problems. If he can play well in the 4th Quarter or while the Bears are leading games, then I think a coach that has experience grooming QBs can help him. A lot of the candidates are guys who are good at just that. So I'm excited for the season to get here, and see what the new head coach can do. It could be an amazing year if Emery brings in as good of OL candidates as he has HC candidates. Hopefully, they can work with him and we will see an high powered offense next year. Edited: I used the word exciting too much and changed a few, but that's just the word in my head about this team right now.

Cutler can't play the first 3 quarters of ever game... sorry I couldn't help myself. Lotta good coaches out there that have worked wonders with QBs. I'm already excited for the season and don't know who the coach will be.
