  1. with all free agency the Bears have done I do not see a OL or LB taken till later on, With the roster set as it is I would lean toward DT or Trade down. We only have 3 DTS on the roster right now and it is a definate need.
  2. Your right he called Mike and Mike said he would rather see someone wear then it hanging in a window somewhere. Anderson stated he was not aware it was availabale but with who wore it he would everything in his power to live up to the tradition that the number represents. Chicagobears.com A Bears player will wear No. 50 this season for the first time since Mike Singletary retired in 1992, and that's just fine with the Hall of Fame middle linebacker. The number was never retired, but the Bears have not issued it since Singletary concluded his illustrious 12-year career with the team. They brought it back this season because the NFL requires all linebackers to wear numbers in the 50s or 90s and the Bears already have two of those retired: No. 51 for Dick Butkus and No. 56 for Bill Hewitt. Hall of Famer Mike Singletary was voted to a Bears-record 10 Pro Bowls. "I talked to Mike Singletary and told him that we hadn't assigned 50 to anybody since he retired and that we needed to put it back in circulation," said Bears chairman George H. McCaskey. "He said he wasn't aware that it hadn't been assigned, that he's got no problem with it, and he's perfectly fine with it. In fact, he would prefer that it be assigned to somebody. He said, 'I'd rather somebody wear it than see it hanging it up in a window somewhere.'" The number will be worn this season by linebacker James Anderson, a veteran free-agent acquisition who donned No. 50 the past seven years with the Carolina Panthers. "There's a lot of history behind this number with the Bears and I'm honored and blessed that they would even consider letting me wear it," Anderson said. "I'm going to do everything I can to honor the tradition by going out every day and every game and giving it all I've got." Anderson did not know that No. 50 had not been issued by the Bears since Singletary retired. "I had no idea," he said. "They asked me whether I would like it if it was available and I said sure. I have a lot of history myself with that number." Anderson appeared in 94 games with 53 starts for the Panthers, recording 432 tackles, eight sacks, seven fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, three interceptions and 20 pass breakups. He started 44 games at strongside linebacker, eight at weakside and one in the middle. Anderson was a regular starter each of the past three seasons. His 94 games played are the most by a linebacker in Panthers history. On Sept. 20, 2012, he set a Carolina single-game record with 20 tackles in a loss to the Giants.
  3. Carimi is one year removed from a bad knee injury, And you expect him to be a pro bowler after that? Suck is not the term I would use at all, Untested would be more fitting, Especially since he had a long offseason to rehab that leg. Base is most important in tackles along with feet, noway a knee with that injury would be full strength for you to call him Suck.
  4. Not tough thats for sure, coulda been alot worse
  5. Nope with 3 QB's on the Roster we dont need another. I would see Okoye signed again before J Russell
  6. Personaly I feel with thinness at DT it will be a DT, and the top 3 still maybe there when we pick. 1. Sharrif Floyd, Florida 2. Star Lotulelei, Utah 3. Sheldon Richardson, Missouri
  7. and to add a note, with 3 DT's on the roster look for the Bears to draft a DT
  8. And Collins is back on the roster
  9. I would recommend to check out nfl.com, your reasons are bogus compared to them on grades. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/arthur-brown?id=2539245 http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/alec-ogletree?id=2540143
  10. I like it make them play for a extension. seems like they want to kick the tires before they buy.
  11. the rules that came in last season, no pads or hitting except for a certain number times. Hard to eval when you can not hit like they used to.
  12. Signed Matt Slauson G Bushrod T Scott T That puts us at 5 guard/Centers and 6 tackles It appears to me that Brown , Carimi, Williams , webb are gonna have to duke it out in camp, with the new rules in camp it prove difficult to do so.
  13. Cooper from NC would be my guess. Move him to the right side Carimi to left and we got ourselves a pretty massive and athletic line.
  14. It was way to funny, I heard he was a cut up but never expected this. Great video.
  15. it also assures a safety not being taken in this years draft, that will be refreshing for a change. Also with only 5 picks its essential.
  16. Funny that say that, While most others are saying Will, He is to light in the ass to play the middle. he is a former safety, but not like Url.
  17. Personaly I think Url is a fool, Heavy incentive contract is all he deserves, What he expect? 5.5 gaurunteed? what a dolt.
  18. Well said, but I difer in that there is no way they get rid of carimi, You can be sure that Kromer will have watched tape of his college years again and seen what he wanted to see. If anything happens other then him starting a right tackle he will be our swing tackle, I be willing to bet Kromer will be more diligent then Tice with these lineman. I just dont see them giving up on a number 1 this early in the evalution period.
  19. I see a restructure comming, Maybe Peppers, Free up some cash by turning salary to bounus, or something on that order. Sign Url back for 2.5 mill with incentives to get 5.5 mill, Win both ways this way. Regardless of the deal we need Url back in the fold. But the writing is on the wall that this draft will be the end of Url unless he finds the fountain of youth and plays his ass off.
  20. That thinking what if the best player available is a Quaterback? Barkley or Smith? I dont buy that until after the first round. Best player available 2-7. With as many holes as we got we need OL, LB, TE. in that order, QB or RB is the last thing we need.
  21. I have to agree with scs787, I think Kromer will be a huge difference in our line play. Webb will be the one I watch closely after Kromer gets his hands on him. Carimi I beleive the 2nd year after a bad knee injury will he regain all his strength in that legg. His base was weak last year and he got better as the year went on. I think this year he will win out the right tackle spot. I see more of requirement of Guards at this point. 2 Guards that rock will help our tackles and are not that expensive. Center is another concern. Garza just aint cutting it and i dont think Edwin Williams will be the answer or Chris Spencer. So pick one up in the 3rd or 4th.
