I know this is sarcastic laden but how is it we’re still talking about QBs out of ND State this high up? Isn’t this like the third one since Wentz came out?

The Nagy-Pace party is back for another year

Saw it mentioned earlier but frankly I’m disappointed Pagano had to go out this way (retiring). I think the players on D let him down more than he letting them down. https://theathletic.com/2319252/2021/01/12/chicago-bears-defensive-coordinator-chuck-pagano-to-retire-sources/ With Pace and Nagy coming back I suspect the rest of the team will be lost before the end of the first game next season. -
True...

Id agree. Seems he’s more interested in that these days then in actual production. On the other hand, Tashaun Gipson was playing really well in the last game. Sorta like a SS should.

Jackson’s play vaguely resembles to me how Fuller was right after he signed his first big contract. He seemed to be taking plays off and was a lost cause. Right about the time (or just before) the Packers came sniffing round was when his play went up ten-fold. Could Jackson be the same way? Is there still hope? We know his potential.

Meanwhile over in Philly, Doug Pedersen was let go. This after being only a few years removed from taking them to the SB and winning it. As if the weird choice to sit Jalen Hurts the last game of the season wasn’t enough of a head scratcher, word was Pederson had turned into a bit of a d-bag so Lurie chose to cut bait. Not all that long ago a few of us here (to include me) were praising the success of Andy Reid’s coaching tree. With Nagy and Pedersen both falling on their faces, maybe not. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/eagles-fire-doug-pederson.amp

This to me makes the most sense. Usually don’t like drafting high for OL but agree it’s time.

He (Romo) also did say they see Winston staying in NO next year and use him as a replacement to Brees while keeping Hill as the rotational player. San Francisco will also be in play for a QB. I thinks they’re getting fed up with Jimmy G.

I’m with you. Blowing it all up makes no sense. This is the second time since Lovie, third if you count Fox. After Lovie’s canning they went in hard reverse gear with Trestman and Emery and ever since Fox and Pace showed up have been in idle, while occasionally stripping the gears to move forward.

Was going to say Pagano is deserving credit for getting the defense to play like they are today. He’s scheming appropriately with the players he has available to him. -

I would think so if Trubisky wasn’t playing well, but he’s not the reason the offense is playing bad...so far. Although he’s not taking a lot of long range plays where Foles is a bit betters. -

On the other hand, Tashaun Gibson has been playing lights out. Two TOs caused so far. One overturned because of zoom shot image of a millimeter move. -

If Wims can keep his cool he's a great receiver. Just makes dumb choices occasionally **EDIT**. That didn’t age well. I take it all back.... derp. -

If Eddie Jackson doesn’t play to his full potential today; trade him tomorrow. He just had a horrible open field whiff. -

Different era. Different character of player(s). Brees is only a few weeks removed from multiple broken ribs and a collapsed lung. And he’s 42. My current favorite QB of the week Taylor Heinicke had a pretty good shoulder injury yesterday and came back to play a very solid game. -

According to the link below, CB Jaylon Johnson is questionable as is LB Woods (glute /toe). Maybe why Teo was brought up? He might be what we need with speed LB coverage to replace Smith. On the Saints side they have Kamara back from COVID protocol and WR Thomas activated from IR yesterday. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/injury-update-saints-playoffs-wild-card-roquan-smith-mooney-jaylon-johnson -
I have a co-worker who has said a few times that he thinks Foles is much better without a lot of preparation. You saw him play well against Atlanta when he took over there. And somehow did well filling in for Wentz back in Philly. Although there he maintained his good play all the way to the Super Bowl. Maybe there’s something to it? Maybe you’re right? What would they have to lose if Trubisky can’t put it together today and decide to play Foles? As an aside. How about that Wash QB Heinikie? Pretty impressive performance yesterday.

Although I’m not AS optimistic as you I’m cautiously optimistic. These two teams met a few weeks back and the Bears lost in OT. A few things are different; Thomas will probably be available, Roquan may not, they’re playing in NO and Trubiksy is starting instead of Foles. Will all that make a difference? -
You’re not mistaking him for Champ Bailey are you? Interesting enough, this Champ (Kelly) did work on the Broncos staff a few years ago as a scout and player manager. (I had to look it up because I wasn’t 100% sure myself).

Or this... and count me also intrigued.

I feel like this is a trick question. There should be others to consider, like Trubiksy’s peer draftees; Mahomes and Watson. Or even potential FAs for next year like Newton, Prescott and Winston.
