  1. I mean more about his next contract. Either an extension here or a new one elsewhere. Honestly not sure why Pace is waiting.
  2. ‘Stole this’ from the inter webs.
  3. Dwayne Harris has been activated for tomorrow. I’m expecting good things from him. Maybe the Patterson of the PRs?
  4. I had to laugh a few times when I saw Leno flash across the screen chasing his defender. One time he ran right across the field of view for Foles. I wouldn’t laugh it wasn’t so sad. Poor Foles.
  5. RESPECT to ARob. He could’ve easily sat this out. Yes I know money’s involved but you gotta believe he wants to play and win.
  6. I think they are also out one of their starting Guards for concussion protocol. May affect the running game ... a little?
  7. I’d personally prefer we wait until our team is worse than .500 before I consider that. Probably won’t matter though as Pace and Nagy will be on borrowed time if they do.
  8. I remembered that the Bears played the Saints almost exactly a year ago (week 7 last year, week 8 this year) in Chicago. A couple of key differences; Brees was out, replaced by Teddy Bridgewater and Kamara was out replaced by Ledarius Murray. Thomas did play (9 for 131yds no TDs - last year). On the Bears side the only real significant difference from last year are Foles at QB and Ginn is on the team (as of this typing) after playing for the Saints last year. Its also looking like Robinson could be out for concussion protocol (10 for 87 yds and 1 TD last year). The Bears run D did poorly (again against Murray - not Kamara) and the pass D held their own. There was a blocked punt by the Saints early in the game that resulted in a Safety (first score of the game). And the offense committed two turnovers; one by Miller and another by Montgomery. Aside from Patterson's 102 KO return for a score the offense didn't do much. That is until late in the game. With just about 3 minutes left in the game the Bears scored twice to bring the final score 36-25.
  9. Bill although I haven’t been watching the Bears quite as long as you, I totally get what you’re saying. It has been a long time since 2006 and an even longer time since 1985. We were ‘this close’ (or so it seemed) two years ago then stopped because a kicker couldn’t get it through the uprights. Not once but twice...on the same kick. So goes Bears football. And so too go Bears fans. As you said, this is a storied franchise and frankly I’m proud to be a Bears fan regardless of how well they do or don’t do. The NFL has done numerous polls and over the years Bears fans generally aren’t only found to be the smartest when it comes to football but the most loyal and true fans. Look in most away games (when we’re not in a pandemic) and you’ll find the stadium packed with Bears fans. That’s pretty damn cool. Speaking of ‘damn cool‘ check out this photo I attached below. That’s 5th round Rookie pick Darnell Mooney going up top to catch a pass. He’s in it to win it. I think things will look better before they get worse this year. I haven’t lost faith...yet.
  10. It's funny because when the Packers lose bad, it's a fluke, but when the Bears lose bad, it's who they are And what’s even more ‘strange’ is how no one realizes how one-dimensional GB is. Look no further than their TB game where TBs Defense was relentless with its pressure on Rodgers. That pressure is really what turned the game in their favor and revealed GBs HUGE vulnerability. Or heck, how about the game a few years ago (Mack’s first as a Bear) where Rodgers was injured for most of the game. The team did a 180 when he was out...until he came back.
  11. I’d agree with this; especially in the case of Mahomes and with his set up (coaching) in KC. Watson is in a bit of a ‘weirder’ scenario with former HC O’Brien’s sudden self-destruct scenario breaking out late last year. One that saw Watson lose his best WR in Hopkins and some other odd occurrences. Yet as you point out, Watson is still doing ok; despite it and his team not winning.
  12. Yes there was/is. Since the interview with Griese and after the game, Foles has since walked back some of his comments. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2020/10/26/21535701/matt-nagy-nick-foles-react-to-espns-brian-grieses-comment-on-broadcast
  13. I was wondering about that. I have seen a lot of teams sign players to their PS when it would seem they’d go straight to their active roster. Antonio Brown to TB as one example.
  14. The Packers beat them by 7 (37-30) in NO a few weeks ago. Would be interesting to see how well the Bears do in comparison. Considering how bad they lost to TB a week after the Bears beat them.
  15. The Bears are maintaining their top 5 standing in a few categories. There is a grey lining to every cloud .
  16. He’s been signed. Safe to assume Ginn is done? PR fixed...now onto the Oline.
  17. 2. I didn't watch most of last night but the little bit I did see highlighted the two largest blights on this team. Nagy's playcalling and the line's inability to block. I had just tuned in after Foles missed the wide open Mooney streaking down the left side of the field. As Griese pointed out, the reason Foles could not get that ball to Mooney was because he could not step into the throw. Same for many of the throws last night and really throughout this season. Was that also why Trubisky couldn't hit anything longer than 20 years with consistency? Dunno. Naqy's playcalling is hampering Foles' abilty to run the offense. Last week I commented that Foles is better at running the offense than Nagy is calling it and I still believe that. The only reason I would suggest a change between Foles and Trubisky at this point is because of Mitch's mobility, but that's about it. What he gains in mobilty, he lacks in decision making and consistency. 3. From what I could see Mustipher seemed to do ok. Of course the whole O-line was pretty much a sieve for most of the night so it really was hard to see whether he specifically held his own. 4. Again...Nagy. Historically speaking, at least during the Pace age, the success of this team has been largely on the defensive side of the ball. Fox ushered in a defensive mindset with a vanilla offense that was perfect for the team rebuild needed at the time. He also brought along with him Vic Fangio. There is no question Vic built the defense to what it is and has been since that time. Pagano has continued that but with a few adjustments of his own. Ironically enough the struggle we see and have been is on the offense side of the ball. Nagy most likely isn't the answer to fix it.
  18. Was it Griese that noted Graham coming out right as they most needed him? Seems an odd call for sure now that it blew up. Nagy is proving he's not up to the job. (And now Whitehair is out...ugh). Defense is gassed, plain and simple.
  19. I’d like to see what L. Miller, Pierce and/or Nall can offer. I have to think Miller is still recovering from last year’s injury if he hasn’t played yet.
  20. This game might be just the time where Nagy starts adding Trubisky as a gadget player or distraction. Maybe lining him up in the slot occasionally and running pass plays from there. Or even doing a modified “Philly special” with Foles rotating to the edge and Trubiksy looking to throw to Foles or run it himself. A few years back the only offensive TD scored against the Rams was when Trubiksy threw a TD to Bradley Sowell. MNF seems like a good stage to pull our some tricks. Would be a good way to keep Mitch involved and feel like he’s contributing.
  21. Saw a story pop up about this. Possible help at PR where he’s historically done well and so far Ginn Jr is struggling. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/gm-report/bears-give-tryout-to-former-pro-bowl-punt-returner
