  1. Yikes, when you look at WR and CB only, it's a little thin next year. Aside from Fitz there really aren't any truly talented WRs in the top half money-wise. And one of the highest priced CBs, Amukamura, is not only already on the team ... he has yet to play. -sigh- I did see Devonte Adams (currently of the Fudge Packers) down the list a-ways. That would be nice 'grudge' signing...if possible. Kinda like having Sitton on the team and still playing well.
  2. Simply put; Glennon started out slow. Whether it be the play calling or him getting into rhythm, he played well enough to maintain the starting role. I think he should be given the opportunity to air it out now but to who? Once they pull the trigger on Trubisky that's it, Glennon is done in Chicago. There will be no going back; especially if Biscuit stinks it up; which is very possible. Remember both Hoyer and Barkley played well in this offense last year...at one time. In fact Barkley played a similar 'roll out of the pocket' style as does Trubisky. Glennon (and to some degree, Hoyer) is a pocket passer plain and simple. As long as he's protected he'll do fine. He certainly didn't lose the game this last weekend.
  3. Whatever happened to Randle? He seemed to be playing ok and thought he made the final 53. *edit: never mind, went IR then released. Of course.
  4. The first question I have is what venue will they play at? I assume TB wasn't affected too much by this weekends storm? TB almost has to play since their first game with Miami was postponed and they ended up with a bye as a result. *edit: looks like they are planning on playing in TB. TBs defense was ranked 31st going into last year with the former ATL head coach Mike Smith as the coordinator. Koetter is the HC and his prowess is more offense. TB pretty much lives and dies by Winston. Get to him and the Bears have this.
  5. Personally think keeping him is a better option than letting him loose. Gotta think he'll manage to put it together.
  6. Real pisser for White. He is obviously a great kid but suddenly prone to injury. In fact I had hoped after switching numbers back to his college number after wearing 13 thought maybe his luck would change. He says he idolizes Larry Fitz; just wish he played like him. What have we got to lose to let him play out his rookie contract? He's still got 1-2 years left? Just maybe his luck would change?
  7. Have to say I agree to what he said. In 'crunch time' he produced. Had it not been for two drops in the end zone at the end of the game we'd be talking a different story. Both drops were not because Glennon put them in bad places but because the receivers simply didn't catch them.
  8. Great analysis and totally agree. Wasn't able to watch the whole game but did notice the overall stat lines were almost duplicate of one another. And like you said, considering the Falcons were just in the SB last year I think our team did pretty good. A better measure will be next week when GB plays them. If ATL blows them out we should be even more encouraged. With regards to Glennons play (and considering I only saw from about mid 3rd quarter on) I'd say it's way too early to pull the plug on him. I understand his passes were short and 'West Coast offensish' but what I didn't see was Glennon making dumb (Cutler like) choices. He was nearly sacked at one point and instead of forcing it downfield threw it out of bounds. He also seemed to be finding the open man; whether it be Sims, Miller, Thompson, Bellamy or Cohen instead of throwing it into double and triple coverage and that's pretty encouraging. And remember this is supposed to be a two headed RBC where we hardly saw any of 2016 Howard. He ended up with 52 rush yards and a pedestrian 4 yard average. And don't forget the horrible drop at the end of the game. Granted I'd like to see what Trubisky could offer on what appears a more athletic zone offense scheme but for now Glennons pocket presence is welcome and he should be given some more opportunities. He certainly didn't lose this game for us.
  9. Glennon should've never been put in that position. Bellamy's drop was sorta explainable but Howard's was criminal.
  10. These are some good foundation players going forward. Wouldn't it be interesting to see Leno play longer than Long given Longs recent injury history? Hope it doesn't work out that way. Wasn't sure about Hicks when Pace brought him over but after hearing how much his mom is a fan of the Bears and how well he plays I'm glad to be wrong about him.
  11. All the more reason that someday I would hope to see Fangio as HC in Chicago. Only after Fox is ready to go though.
  12. He passed up Mark "Butt fumble" Sanchez who got about 10 reps during all of the preseason? All Biscuit had to do was keep breathing to 'win' the second spot.
  13. You didn't mess anything up. You tried to help and it didn't work out. If you're interested I'll more than likely be bowing out after this year. I'll be willing to have you take over for me.
  14. Perfect, then I'll keep Cooks.
  15. Paid and I'll keep Julio Jones.
  16. I didn't see Pat O'Donnell as an option...

Another questionable Titan cast off. Meh...
  18. I'm with you on the disappointment of Langford. But it sounds as though his durability is in question too. I'd have preferred they get another big back rather than all these little guys. Edit: after reading up on Mizzelle a little, he got 1500 yards rushing and 1500 yards receiving last year. That's pretty impressive. Like a small version of Forte.
  19. Most of the time I disagree with just about anything you say, but this time I have to say I'm with you. I'm not sure what it is but something tells me the team will do a lot better than people expect. Just off the top of my head, Fox had been successful twice now in leading teams to the SB by using someone else's QB. Well at least a QB that was on another team the year or two prior. In Carolina it was Delhomme and in Denver it was that guy named Manning. So could it happen with Glennon? Sure, history certainly says it could. The biggest question in my mind right now is the WR situation. Was sad to see Cruz go but he must not have been able to give what they needed him to. Something tells me we'll we Victor retire soon. Im wondering, given the low number of 'known' WRs in the FA market that Pace doesn't try and make a trade for one. Although with all the TEs on the roster he may also stand pat. The offense could easily become a West Coast style with run heavy and short pass ball control.... that is until Trubisky takes over.
  20. Now if you want to see a cheap hit (or what they use to measure them anyhow). Check out Vontaze Burfict here...whose known to make them occasionally.
  21. As much a fan as I'm not for low hits (and ultimately hurt Meredith), can't say this was cheap. OBJ had a similar hit on him a few weeks ago (although only by one player). At the time the commentator said that they're teaching defenders, especially on receivers, that they can't hit high when they're vulnerable (defenseless player) so most players will target low to the waist or lower to avoid hurting the guy. The by-product of trying to protect the players with high hits are ones like this. Beckham came up limping after this and eventually left the game.
  22. What happened to Braverman? I sorta saw/see an Edelman/Amendola combo with he and Gentry out there. Maybe not.
  23. Cut Houston, move C. Jones to OLB (he looks good lately) and sign Ahmad Brooks for ILB (maybe backup?)
  24. Meredith is done
