  1. Looks as though Forte is now considering sitting out some if not all the Preseason games. Can't say as I blame him for the ideas listed (wear and tear and field conditions). The team needs to pull their head out and pay him. He is long term not a short fill. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2405064.story And if you noticed as a side story, Knox is not happy with losing his "starting" job to Roy Williams. Oh boo hoo cry me a river. If you ran your routes and caught the ball....most times... you wouldn't be having to worry about it. I'm even more happy that they brought in the likes of Williams and Hurd to light a fire under Knox and any other WR that can't measure up.
  2. I just wanted to pause and congratulate Richard Dent on his official enshrinement into the Football Hall of Fame. Great work and again CONGRATS to you sir!!!! This brings the total of Bear enshrinees to 30 ... a record http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chica...ll_Hall_of_Fame
  3. So you're familiar with TerraTor and Mad Lith then? HAR HAR!!!!
  4. That was supposed to be big time "tongue in cheek". I remember him leaving and how so many were so happy.
  5. Yeah, actually I meant as of right now. For example a currently old Kreutz (as opposed to younger) is the same as a younger version (of currently old Kreutz) of him now = Spencer. Makes perfect sense right?
  6. Here are a few of note: (from NFL.com/transactions) Jeff Willis G - of the Jets Jason McKie RB - Ravens Quinton Borders T - Bucs Ryan McKnight C - Bengals And a few additions: Mark Anderson DE - SIGNED by NE Patriots (yes THAT Mark Anderson) Malcolm Floyd WR - Re-Signed with SD So far.... I'm thinking there will be some significant movement this weekend.
  7. Taylor gone eh? That's such a shame...needless to say, waste of $7 million. I had great hope for him. But am truly encouraged with Barber in the line up, he is more the "complimentary back" that they need for Forte. I had heard that Maynard was gone and that McGee kid....Punters. Whatever. Although I liked Maynard too. Collins??? (see above - not even good enought to be a Punter). Surprised he wasn't gone before now. So now they have even more money to work with....I still predict another OLman being signed soon. Keep track of the teams that are in dire straights with their Caps and any other cuts upcoming. Remember teams report with 53 players at the start of the season and most are now near the 80-90 man mark now. There will be more cuts coming...and quick. The Bears are in good shape and position. And who knows, maybe Umeniyora will become "tradeable" again.
  8. So the Bears got rid of an old Kreutz and replaced him with a younger version of himself? Except that he can do shotgun. And that's bad or worse??? I have to totally agree with you Rockren (although not so sure about "your boy Roy"). Anyhow, considering he used film with Spencer against the Bears defense (which was rated #9 overall #2 against the run) I'm still not all that worried. Put any Center against that front seven and you will probably find similar results. I do agree with "Roy" that things could go better after Tice gets ahold of him. Look what he's doing with a seventh round pick in Webb.
  9. Welcome. Its good to have another on the positive side.
  10. Whose "body language" are you referring to? Roy Williams, Sam Hurd, Marion Barber, Aaron Spencer, Gabe Carimi, Okoye, Gholston? Aren't these guys all new to the team this year? Isn't all that something that anyone could have read from watching game films? If that were the case wouldn't Brett Farve been able to dissect GB better than he did when he played for Minny? I bet even Olin's best at this point will be worse that Omiyale's worst....and that's bad. True, NO is a tough team. But having Kreutz on the team isn't going to make that much difference.
  11. Jason and Madlith, here's that contract info you were looking for. $2 Mil....hmmmm http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/2458/olin-kreutz
  12. I saw a few here talking about Lofa Tatupu and how they shoud look at going younger. Reading around about this kid is that the opinion is he would make for a better SLB than a Safety. Does this sound familiar? As perhaps someone we know from New Mexico? http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/nineri...?entry_id=94709
  13. Tommie Harris being interviewed after first day of practice with Colts. Says good things about Lovie and Coach Marinelli....hmmm another NFL'er liking his coaches. Say it ain't so. Take care Tommie and good luck. http://www.colts.com/sub.cfm?page=video&am...91-4d70a92b4825
  14. Careful what you wish for. Leonard Davis is a available... And he's a Guard.
  15. Actually Balta, I think once Hanie got a chance to come in, he did pretty good at getting the ball to his receivers. Seems like things were back on track but unfortunately it was too late. Really the only two mistakes (and they were big) was that one play (end around?) with Bennett and using Collins. Had not using Collins been the case, something tells me things would have been different.
  16. Consider this a *bump*. This isn't over yet...not by a long shot. The only reason I added this is the part of the Bears. Rumors are true...somewhat. Stay tuned. http://rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/208519/...ver-giants-move
  17. I was joking but forgOt about the long snapping debacle. So perhaps there is something to it.
  18. Oh brother. Thanks Ashkum for trying....
  19. http://whodatdish.com/2011/08/02/new-orlea...gns-with-bears/ There is a disclaimer at the bottom regarding the "rumor". Even I have to ask...WTF???
  20. I totally agree. This was just a good story to see how he has been doing especially with all the events of the last year; injury in playoffs and accusations, recent break up with fiancee and his buddy Olsen leaving. Seems that he is doing just fine and perhaps a little more "enlightened". Whatever happens I hope that he never loses that brashness and competitive edge that he carries to each game. Looking forward to camp and the season. Good luck Jay and the rest of the team.
  21. In a word: No I know Jason and I will agree on this.
  22. Jason, I know you enjoy contradiction but I'll make this brief. I agree that the Bears need to upgrade OL. I agree that the Bears have not, in the past, done great in addressing that problem. I disagree that they had to do it now. Each team has something like 90 players right no and will have to eventually cut down to 53 (that's still the number right?) so another FA is bound to shake loose. I also disagree that JA "skirted" the issue at all. He said that it wasn't as simple as picking a player and signing him up. He admitted to targeting Colon early on and it didn't work out. You yourself said there were only 2 decent FA guards to begin with. And of them, how many returned to their team? So like before, give it time. And what the heck is the analogy of "leaving a fire and hanging ou to make breakfast?" Don't get it.
  23. Uhm..... I think they DID address the OL once or twice: see Spencer and Carimi with the #1 pick this year. I don't think anywhere in my post did I close the door on the possibility of signing another OL man. In fact, I left it open for the possibility that even after a few weeks of preseason games there could very well be another FA pop here or there. Just because the Bears haven't signed every top star they could (see Redskins) doesn't mean they're done....not by a long shot. In the meantime, what I did say is that I have faith (not the Jesus kind) that coaches like Tice know what they are doing. And I think he wants to work with what he's got FOR NOW. Hell, they've only practiced together for one or two days. Relax, get a grip...don't get sick or vomit or whatever, just yet.
  24. I would agree with 99% of what you wrote except for the "bolded" part. I think Briggs might have something to say contrary (at least back in '07). Although he eventually saw the light and decided to stick around, despite saying otherwise.
