  1. Like you said before ML: F#*% Reilly!!!
  2. For one of those "rare" occasions I'll have to agree with MadLith that Reilly can go "F" himself. Cutler may not be media savvy, but so what? Chicago loved Ditka possibly the least savvy of them all. Hell the guy threw gum at a spectator once. And during the ingerviews with the media you sometimes could count more "bleeps" than actual words. What about Kreutz? He broke his teammate's jaw once (Fred Miller) during an arguement, of all places, at a gun range. McMahon may have had "charisma" but is that how you describe a guy that moons a media helicopter during Super Bowl week? Or what about Urlacher who not only allegedly called Cutler a "pussy" but also openly challenged Hall of Famers Gale Sayers and Dick Butkus? Not all that media savvy if you ask me. But so what? What I see is a guy not all that comfortable in the limelight. I watched an interview he did recently with Marshall Faulk. At the beginning Cutler seemed pretty aloof but after a bit he seems to warm up and become more engaging with Faulk. Hence why his teammates, like Olsen, will come to defend him. They have had a chance to get to know him better. And don't confuse that aloofness with lack of passion. If anyone dare say Cutler doesnt care about how the Bears perform then maybe you haven't seen some highlight films like when he starts to scramble and when, in a few instances, instead of scrambling out of bounds or sliding Cutler instead jumps head first for the first down or stiff arms a defender? Or maybe they missed the time he "heli-coptered" into the endzone over two defenders in one of the Detroit games last year? So, Mr Reilly, that would be why we Chicago fans like our QB. I would have to take disagreement that the city of Chicago is not at his heck and call. He may not really want that limelight that so many others strive for. If you really want a QB that strives for attention like a child you need to look elsewhere for the next Brett Favre. We Chicago fans will keep our QB just the way he is and who he is. Thank you very much.
  3. Yes and absolutely What he was drafted for and more his "natural" spot. Was re-watching some of the last Minny game and his pulling and mobility were laughable. In fact, I did laugh a few times.
  4. "Idle minds" Connor.... Both in MadLiths case and with Favre's sister. In the case of ML, it is just something to read about that is sorta Bears related while we impatiently wait for Sunday. And this thing about him in the HOF... I just puked in my mouth. :puked Can't wait until then.
  5. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/56849...-end-up/page/51 According to this article it attempts to predict where the top 50 FAs will go next season, provided there isn't a lockout. For the Bears??? Michael Bush - RB (Raiders): Apparently Forte and Taylor are "Faulkish" running backs so Chicago could benefit from a bruiser back like Bush Matt Light OL(Patriots): Tackle that is reaching his shelf-life and the Bears are needing a good and solid tackle. And NE doesn't like old guys. Braylon Edwards - WR (Jets): sounds like Santonio could be taking #1 and Braylon might cost too much for NY to maintain. Besides, this could be the big WR Jay needs.
  6. Totally agree Pix. However, as has been mentioned here and through the media the Bears have "luckily" made it to this point. I can't categorically agree with that assessment. And the thought that the game could be "cheapened" because the Bears might win on luck is not a fair analogy. Tell that to the Saints. Who were the Defending Super Bowl champions and disposed of by the upstart 7-9 Seahawks. Did the Seahawks luckily win that game? Tell that to the Colts. Who have been to 6(?) straight playoff appearances (and runner up in last year's Super Bowl) only to be excused by the Jets. A team we all have to agree is in disarray...or at the very least, distracted. The Bears, like the other 31 teams, are a member of the NFL. Each and every week you have to come prepared better than the "other guy". The Seahawks DESERVED to win. Plain and simple. Just like the Bears have DESERVED to win the games they won. Stats mean nothing other than what has happened and not what WILL happen. The Bears will come into next week ready to play, in some capacity. Noone can fault them for staying healthy. If they lose they will have deserved to have lost. Conversely, if they win they will have derserved to win. Luck has very little to do with it. That's why when I say if the Bears make it to the Super Bowl and face the Patriots I do not agree that they will lose that game 10 out of 10 times. And as before "any given Sunday" reflects just how true that is.
  7. Of course as most will attest, the fact the Bears have made it this far, let alone as the #2 NFC seed going into the playoffs, exceeds most expectations. I chose the option to make the playoffs and get to the Championship game as that is what I am hoping is only the beginning of a run to the SUper Bowl. GO BEARS!!!! Triva question: Who was the last player to tackle Brett Favre? Answer below
  8. Agreed Daventry. Tom S. is similar to Noots in that he has pretty insightful information and DIFFEERNT perspectives which is good to see. I have also gone to the link Tom has put on his posts and makes for a good read. I think it helps, especially at this time of year, to be able to analyze how the team is performing and what and how they need to fix what ills them. Besides, I have been told on numerous occasions that this is the place for each of us Bears fans to post our thoughts...drivel or not. Thank you Tom S. and Noots for your professional commentary.
  9. 1941 Although I have to admit that I didnt know that at the time I read the article. I assumed in the "modern era" and remembered it was the Rams and Giants they played in '85. My bad. Either way, I'll take the position the Bears are in over the others playing next week.
  10. "You know what makes me sad? You do". Ha ha.. Seriously "come on man". This team is the #2 seed after having one of the toughest schedule and admittedly weakest Oline. You guys are starting to sound like the "professional" naysayers who many here have villified many times over in not do friendly terms. The Bears will be hosting whoever in two weeks and things will be different. Pretty sure that the team didn't perform this unexpectedly to make it this far and then flop. If they let us and all Bears fans down in two weeks then all the skeptics were right. And there's alot more wrong than just a weak Oline. By the way, the last time the Bears played the Packers three times? They advanced to the Super Bowl.
  11. Totally agree with you Connor. This is no way representative how a team (Bears) who have nothing to lose or gain (other than a not needed injury) how they would play against a team in desperation mode (Pavkers) later in the playoffs. Especially at Soldier Firld. Should have pulled the starters at halftime.
  12. BULAGA!!!! Again!!! You can't tell me this is how the Bears would be playing if this was a playoff game. Pretty sure Martz is much more creative than that.. As was evidenced in both the Jets and Vikings games. Forte is obviously on an upswing and pretty sure The offense would adapt to benefit from a good run game. Desperate (Packers) times call for desperate measures.'
  13. BULAGA strikes again!!!! Nice stop Jennings!!! Off a hold nonetheless.
  14. Sorry but in defense of both. Would you rather have Cutler throw another pick? Which probably would have been the case with double coverage on Hester. And with Lovie althogh bad timing he was trying to avoid another delay of game call. And the Pack probably knew that hence why Taylor made the big game. But that could just be my "devil advocate" speaking. Now you can't tell me the second string couldn't have done this well right?
  15. TOMMIE!!! No "loaf" for you sir!!!
  16. It was apparent that Cutler didn't want to throw the ball when he did. He tried to stop it but it was too late. Could tell by the trajectory and that he had his eyes closed right when he threw it, like DAMN I didn't want to do that. Tomme that is good thing. Know it's odd but... It is what it is
  17. Well besides Peanut and Forte he's the only one catching anything.
  18. Alaskan Grizzly = Rasheid Davis fan club president
  19. It's called conservation. Winning doesn't mean more than staying intact and healthy. Not at this point. And what kind of "momentum" do you have with a week off?
  20. I agree with everything you said except for Cutler. Can't afford him hurt and Hanie needs more reps to see where he is at again, in case he's needed. That and I'm afraid Cutler is going to have a bad sack at this rate.
  21. Now time to bring in the second stringers. It's apparent the Bears can match GB punch for punch. Need to see how the backups do, in case their needed.
  22. What a bunch of crap on Peppes. Although Suh did the same a few weeks ago and was penalized. And I am now a big fan of Jennings
  23. And Bulaga is going to be the end of the GB season at this rate! Yeehaw!
  24. For the record I am a Rashied Davis fan and glad he is doing well. Nice hold in the endzone GB by the way.
  25. Not bad for an "egomaniac", non-flexible, pass first minded type of guy (Martz) eh? I, for one, am glad to see that Martz is able to expand his repertoire while making Cutler, Forte, Olsen (hates the TE position) a better squad. That and he is intelligent enough to adapt in game and for the season's conditions. Good job.
