  1. This is eerily a Tua vs Hurts redux but in a shorter span. So now the question is, does Williams jump to the NFL now with his backup doing what he did? AGAINST A RANKED TEAM? Or stick around another year and risk a) losing his starting gig and b) going down in draft status? Can he still enter the transfer portal? He already dropped out of Heisman contention this year due to his lack of production against better teams and what appeared to be meltdowns post game(s). This guys’ stock is tumbling fast. Maybe he’s worth a 2nd round? Maybe? ?
  2. I’m legitimately curious why you think that. You mean against NFL competition? If so, how?
  3. Despite suspending him twice (?) this year and rescinding an earlier offer of ~$12 million, Michigan is back offering Jim a 10 year $125 million deal (with one caveat). He ain’t comin to Chicago . As an aside, saw a bunch of the Michigan players here in LA (and a few ‘Bama players and staff) while they prep for the Rose Bowl in a few days.
  4. If this is accurate, Lovie was making $5 million per year and that was how many years ago? So in you look at the “business aspect” of it, they aren’t paying a kings ransom for him to coach. This post courtesy of the Palace Bar and about six drinks!
  5. To borrow a quote from the late Dennis Greene, to crown CJ Stroud’s ass right now might be a little immature. His team is only one (or two) game(s) ahead of Chicago and he hasn’t played in the last two (??) games. Before that he threw for a total of 91 yards to the NYJ. To further exacerbate the conversation of bust drafts, the one thing I’d prefer to avoid is become the next iteration of the Browns. Since 1999 they’ve drafted 5 QBs (two as 1st overalls) and have nothing to show for it. The guy they’re stumbling into the playoffs with is a nearly 40 year old former 1st round pick who until a few weeks ago was sitting on a couch somewhere.
  6. To be fair he’s also being injured for the last number of weeks. Surprising given he’s a more pocket passer. (Yes that’s me being a little cynical).
  7. If you ask me, option A. And what about Mahomes? What the heck is going on with him? He’s had at least one INT in each of the last four games. And had a 73.6 rating today against the lowly Raiders.
  8. Yup. And the unknowns of how that translates to the NFL is concerning. I personally don’t have any confidence that either Maye nor Williams are “it”.
  9. That’s the ticket right there. Merry Christmas guys! Hope all you have an awesome day.
  10. Yep. We would agree that raw stats are objective but people use them subjectively to support their point. I won’t even touch the topic of politics. This post brought to you courtesy of Legado Whisky . ?
  11. And again we go back to players like Hurts, Jackson and Mahomes who make a career out of unconventional plays. Yet the critique is lacking. What’s the difference between them all?
  12. His detractors want perfection. And some use stats to make their point. A lot of times stats can be used subjectively. Today, for example, if the Bears lean on the run game because AZ isn’t a great defense then it draws away from Fields’ opportunities to throw the ball. The Field supporters could make a counter argument that he hasn’t been given an ideal situation to thrive in.
  13. Time for players like Robert “butterfinger” Tonyan to step into the breech.
  14. It’s a good question. With non-mobile QBs it’s key to keep the rush on and slowly chip away at their confidence of pocket protection. Like we saw with Goff and Flacco (and all their sacks and TOs). But with a player like Murray it’s more of keeping him hemmed in and forcing him to focus on the middle of the field. And they have a semi-effective offensive coordinator who knows how to make adjustments.??‍♂️
  15. I see GB pulled off a squeaker against Carolina 33-30. Interesting…
  16. Tastes a bit like Bud Light or Coors Light. My son-in-law things it has a bit more “wheaty taste” to it. Overall it’s good and light. I’ve found as I get older I have more issues drinking the hoppier stuff.
  17. Meh. We’re here for Bears and trash talking ?? At least I am This post brought to you courtesy of Firestone Walker 805 beer. ?
  18. So far Williams (USC) has shown he’s challenged against better teams ans especially those who are ranked. How will that translate to the NFL? Probably not well.
  19. I’d be curious to see stats on how players like Lamar, Mahomes and even Hurts do as “traditional (pocket passing) QBs versus their own version of “hero QBIng”. I saw a graphic the other day where had it not been for the “tush push” and the number of TDs it has generated for Hurts he’d essentially be Fields. We have seen what happens when Mahomes hasn’t had good receivers this year. And when his starting line isn’t available when he literally ran for his life during the SB he lost a few years ago.
