Fields-O-Meter
Meh...stats are what you make them. I think I saw somewhere else where Justin and Josh Allen were comparable at the same points in their careers, until this year. Even then, besides the number of starts over their respective careers (Allen 79 to Fields 29) there isn't a HUGE disparity between the two...well except maybe the sack totals. https://www.statspros.com/josh-allen-vs-justin-fields-stats/ At any rate, I've seen a few X-weets out there that mention our team has only had one winning season since Lovie was fired in 2010 and that was after he compiled a 10-6 record that year. Surely at some point our team is destined to have a winning record again? What's to say Justin couldn't turn things around?

Braxton Jones to IR is a HUGE Blow
I could see them going after any available above average rated Oline FA at this point. Although I did read Nate Davis returned to Halas Hall today so that’s good to see.

Peterman was released today as well. Bagent is now #2. ??♂️- Breaking News: Alan WIlliams' house and HALAS HALL raided

Ironically he’ll be playing against the current master of improv in Mahomes. You think all the off foot and shovel pass throws he makes are designed by Reid? My guess is Reid draws out the play and says use this as a guideline (I’m paraphrasing of course). I agree it looks as though the coaching staff is trying to make Fields more a pocket passer and after all the years of him not being a pocket passer are working against this. They need to let him be him. He knows the consequences and is quite aware of what people have been saying. The worst that will happen is we’ll continue to lose and Bagent will probably get called up at some point. Let Justin be Justin.- Anything comments
Interesting news on the Williams front. Evidently both Williams’ residence and Halas Hall were “raided” as of late. And when they say raided, they mean FBI. As an aside, for those that may recall “Peanut” Tillman joined the FBI after retiring. Associated story: https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2023/09/20/halas-hall-alan-williams/- Flus and Getsy on the hot seat?
He’s had a formidable defense (in SF and in NYJ) to back up his chops . Things looked good (for him) when the “owner” signed on and just like that they were staring at having to go back to Zach Wilson. We’ll see if he can string together some wins despite it. His situation currently isn’t all that much different than Flus. I’m concerned (not giving up … yet) that Flus’ defense isn’t up to par. You need at least one phase to produce to succeed. So far, none have.- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
I’m not sure whether you knew this (and you’re being facetious) or it was pure coincidence but apparently Collingsworth owns PFF. I just learned this this morning when listening to LeBatard and Stugotz.- Fields-O-Meter
Because it’s doomsday Monday, I found an entertaining X-Tweet (below). Turns out he’s 16th overall in passing yards, *but tied for second with 5 other QBs for INTs - Josh Allen among them.- Fields-O-Meter
Good analysis. From what I saw in this video, Getsy was calling plays to try and help Justin. IE: Right after he 'got blasted two times in a row' he called a quick release play to try and help him not have to read the field too long. Even earlier on when you saw some of the plays develop Justin should have hit the receiver the design was there for him to succeed. So I'm more hesitant to blame all of this on playcalling. However I would say as much as Justin is to blame for a lot of the miscues there were a few times highlighted in this that the supporting cast didn't do their part either. Kmet's drop on the sideline and Claypool not executing his break as examples of that. For whatever reason Justin came out early and played well but became blinded after the first series. I would agree to some level that he is regressing which to me is a HUGE disappointment. I also agree with this analyst's view that a change (probably at QB) is coming soon. As the old saying goes, the Chicago fans favorite QB is the backup QB.- Long time, no post...
Welcome back Mad. Glad to see you around again. A neighbor or mine is a huge fan of the Lagavulin whisky and I always think of how you loved the stuff when he brings it out. ?- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
I would normally say this is crazy but things like this worked for the Saints when they had Brees and Hill playing together. Deebo Samuel is a gadget player of sorts and works great in the SF scheme. Maybe something to it. It’s not like you couldn’t use him more as a RB anyhow. He did get over 1,000 yards last year. ??♂️- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
I appreciate your optimism. I’m in agreement that not all is lost despite having to play KC next week. Stranger things have happened .- Week 3 Official Loss Thread - CHI @ KC, 9/24, 3:25PM CDT, Bears -50, O/U 72
Yeah considering how big a fan he is of Rod Marinelli’s, you’d think he’d have more fire in his belly.- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
Yep. Both sides of the ball play calling was garbage. Don’t suppose you were one of those guys they showed in the Manchester pub earlier?- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
Ugh. Justin is getting time and just watching his receivers run routes. Moore’s gonna ask for a trade before long.- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
Evidently it’s ok for the offense to do that. As Evans gets away with a HUGE one for his large gain. Absolute bullshat.- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
The hallmark of this type of defense. A cause of many ulcers.- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
And Johnson got burnt on a crossing pattern. I’m done with both Jackson and Johnson. Not too many great plays by the defense…so far. Meanwhile the ST does nice in a blocked kick ?- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5

I think the Davis situation makes more sense now that we know what was going on behind the scenes. And I have a feeling Claypool will be pulling his head out after last week. I expect (and hope for) great things from him.- Week 2 Official Game Thread - CHI @ TB, 9/17, 12pm CDT, CHI +3, O/U 41.5
To have gone through what it sounds like he was (Davis) and still try to practice and play is truly commendable on his part. Makes a lot of sense he was distracted by his personal life. Take the time you need Nate, football will still be there. Maybe time to see what Feeney can do? And I see Collins will be brought up to help In the meantime Blackwell is also listed as a ‘no go’ for tomorrow. We’ll be digging deep into the CB depth chart for players. - Braxton Jones to IR is a HUGE Blow
