  1. I’m guessing the reason the Bears let Mario Edwards Jr go was due to money. He sure looks good tonight against the Chiefs. Has one sack and nearly a second soon after that.
  2. Meanwhile our offense is coming along great led by Fields’ continued improvement and Getsy’s adaptive play calling. A few weeks ago I wasn’t sure Getsy was ‘the guy’ but he’s starting to convince me otherwise. Now that the offense is off and running it’s time to get the defense on track. Consistent they’ve been gutted from talented players, we’ll have to trust the process. I certainly prefer being in this role than I would be as a Packer fan right now. Their one-dimensonal offense is starting to break.
  3. Apparently Vildor has come back in wearing Jaylon Johnson’s uniform. You
  4. I’d agree. Another one id like to see in the rotation is Lb AJ Klein who came by way of the Roquan trade. Right now he’s listed as backup to Sanborn but has a ton of experience. Never know. With the defense on the mediocre side right now to have him in would be more for late game views.
  5. Their pass rush defense got a shot in the arm when they traded for former Denver pass rusher Bradley Chubb. This trade took place about the same time the Bears got Claypool. Gonna probably need outside help from the TEs.
  6. At the end of the day, a dominant running game is a good base for a more complex offense later on. Right now, the Bears own the running game.
  7. On Sanborn, I’m good with whatever LB spot he plays. Just would like to see him get more opportunities. honestly I think Morrow has comparable speed to Smith so he might be better in that role. As far as Vildor, let’s just say I’m hoping to see more Gordon out there. He’s steadily improving and isn’t quite the train wreck he was a few weeks ago. Lastly I noticed on one site they have Leatherwood as backup to Jenkins on the depth chart, and no where else. But then they also had Jaylon Johnson listed as “out”.
  8. Reading that Sanborn will be getting increased reps, according to DC Alan Williams. And that he’s a leading candidate for the recently vacated WILL position.
  9. I also agree with all this. Especially the part about Pit being in a potential rebuild. Probably wanted to get what they could for a player like Claypool. Who since with the addition of Pickens, has been relegated to play other positions. Claypool did say they had been more recently tinkering with where he lined up. He said although he didn't like (or feel as competent) from the slot, he appreciated the experience he was getting from playing all the positions. Felt it would give him more experience where he may not have had he stuck simply to the X position.
  10. The Bears have a pretty good arsenal of players with legit 1st and 2nd round draft pedigree. Fields, Claypool, Leatherwood, Reiff and Harry among them. If most or all reach/maintain their potential, this offense in Chicago could be something special.
  11. Whitehair released from IR. Local reporter I happened upon noted Jenkins “walking gingerly” during practice. Suggested there may be some issue with his back. And Borom still out for concussion.
  12. I happened to be looking at snap counts for all the players on offense the other day and noticed he had 6 (I think it was) total. And that Jenkins and Mustipher each had three less than everyone else along the line. I saw when he went in to spell Jenkins but didn't notice the Mustipher fill-in.
  13. Watched his first presser as a Bear and I get the impression he’s a high character (smart) guy. I’m already a fan. And in case anyone was curious, he’ll be wearing #10.
  14. Ha, was looking over some past conversations regarding Claypool on this board and found this gem. From January 2021 when Adam posted: “The Bears could've drafted Claypool over Kmet (just like we said to) who would've replaced Burton as the "Adjustor". Look at what Claypool did in Pittsburgh. Could you imagine ARob, Claypool, and Mooney in 3WR sets.” Looks as though you got your wish Adam with getting both Kmet and Claypool and almost had the threesome you were dreaming about…until ARob left for LA.
  15. At the rate we’re going, Johnson will be the most tenured player on D.
  16. I’ve been hoping to see more of him. Maybe with Smith gone we will? So far he’s been slow on the uptake with a total of 4 (?) tackles, 2 of which he got yesterday. He was 3rd in snap counts for LB with 13 yesterday to Roquan (58) and Morrow (58) and edging out Thomas who had 8. Given he’s an UDFA I suppose we can’t expect a miracle cut maybe with more playing time he’ll improve?
  17. Meh. Sucks as I see him as a “core player” but that’s just me as a fan speaking. Oh well. Along with the draft picks the Bears also get LB AJ Klein. He was a 5th round pick for Carolina in 2013. In his career he’s totaled 15 1/2 sacks. His one season high # of tackles was in 2018 where he totaled 70 while playing for the Saints. Since then he went on to play for the Bills and Ravens. Double ‘meh’.
  18. I agree with this. And would’ve liked to see Eislen at Center…just to see. Saw him come out but was only there to spell Jenkins for a play or two .
  19. Another silver lining is that with GB sucking as of late, the Bears and Packers are now tied for 2nd in the division. And I think it safe to say these teams are gradually heading in different directions.
  20. I was curious how the defense would react to losing Quinn. Not so much with him being gone but how Roquan was visibly bothered by his leaving. And with him as one of the leaders, it seemed the defense was a bit lackluster. Having been a Vildor fan last year I am no longer. Time to keep Gordon there unless you think he’s better served playing the NB. I am a fan of Brisker for sure. He was out of place a few times but he sure does a nice job in run support and inst afraid to hit.
  21. One silver lining is that so far the Bears have scored 29 pts against the second best defense in the league. So far no one else in the league has done that. And they’ve played Philly, the Chargers and Bengals.
  22. As Dallas starts to lose players, the Bears conditioning starting to show up again late in the game.
  23. Understand that he’s a rookie but so far all he’s shown is he can run fast. Lovin N’Keal Harry. He’s the poor man version of DK Metcalf…without the speed and is injury prone. Justin is playing smart. The defense getting burnt is overshadowing his solid play today.
  24. Love the opening salvo by the Bears. Big try on a relatively wide open ESB. Just not enough juice in Justin’s throw. Unfortunate penalty killed that drive.
