  1. I’ve been hoping to see more of him. Maybe with Smith gone we will? So far he’s been slow on the uptake with a total of 4 (?) tackles, 2 of which he got yesterday. He was 3rd in snap counts for LB with 13 yesterday to Roquan (58) and Morrow (58) and edging out Thomas who had 8. Given he’s an UDFA I suppose we can’t expect a miracle cut maybe with more playing time he’ll improve?
  2. Meh. Sucks as I see him as a “core player” but that’s just me as a fan speaking. Oh well. Along with the draft picks the Bears also get LB AJ Klein. He was a 5th round pick for Carolina in 2013. In his career he’s totaled 15 1/2 sacks. His one season high # of tackles was in 2018 where he totaled 70 while playing for the Saints. Since then he went on to play for the Bills and Ravens. Double ‘meh’.
  3. I agree with this. And would’ve liked to see Eislen at Center…just to see. Saw him come out but was only there to spell Jenkins for a play or two .
  4. Another silver lining is that with GB sucking as of late, the Bears and Packers are now tied for 2nd in the division. And I think it safe to say these teams are gradually heading in different directions.
  5. I was curious how the defense would react to losing Quinn. Not so much with him being gone but how Roquan was visibly bothered by his leaving. And with him as one of the leaders, it seemed the defense was a bit lackluster. Having been a Vildor fan last year I am no longer. Time to keep Gordon there unless you think he’s better served playing the NB. I am a fan of Brisker for sure. He was out of place a few times but he sure does a nice job in run support and inst afraid to hit.
  6. One silver lining is that so far the Bears have scored 29 pts against the second best defense in the league. So far no one else in the league has done that. And they’ve played Philly, the Chargers and Bengals.
  7. As Dallas starts to lose players, the Bears conditioning starting to show up again late in the game.
  8. Understand that he’s a rookie but so far all he’s shown is he can run fast. Lovin N’Keal Harry. He’s the poor man version of DK Metcalf…without the speed and is injury prone. Justin is playing smart. The defense getting burnt is overshadowing his solid play today.
  9. Love the opening salvo by the Bears. Big try on a relatively wide open ESB. Just not enough juice in Justin’s throw. Unfortunate penalty killed that drive.
  10. What you said here is absolutely key going forward. Not expecting a win but will be very happy for it. Will especially enjoy it if we can see Jerry Jones pouting in his press box.
  11. Borom out. Leatherwood or Reiff, next man up.
  12. I’m not that smart about contract stuff. Is this a good thing for the Bears?
  13. As a point of reference, the Acho brothers were some of the smartest guys to have ever played football (IMHO). Here Emanuel does a simplified breakdown on how the Bears offense scheming offset the NE defense (one of Belichicks usually bright shining stars). He’s right that if you are able to misguide the LBs just enough in the running game, you have a distinct advantage.
  14. Patrick to the IR. Mustipher back to starting at Center. Dieter elevated from PS to backup Musty. DE Gerri Green signed to PS (worked with Flus while in Indy).
  15. If you haven’t already, there’s a story below (and corresponding video) worth a quick read where Poles explains the ‘why’s’ of trading Quinn. He discusses the business side, the faith he has in his remaining leadership (to help keep the locker room focused - including Roquan) and the personal considerations that needed to be thought about. At the end of the day he doesn’t owe anyone an explanation (frankly speaking we saw he did good) but he gets props from me, as a fan, for doing so. And one other takeaway, it appears Asst GM Cunningham was heavily involved in the negotiations given his background with the Eagles. https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/2022/10/27/ryan-poles-explains-why-he-traded-robert-quinn/
  16. First when I saw this story it was a ‘meh’ moment (guy coming over as a practice squad player). But today saw a story about how he requested permission to leave KC due to their depth at WR and his inability to start games. Guess we’ll see if it remains a ‘meh’ moment.
  17. We’ll see Quinn again in a few weeks.
  18. Another comparison of Fields to other QBs.
  19. Im guessing Dallas is thinking they should rest him against Chicago because they see the Bears as a non-issue. Both he and Pollard are relatively interchangeable at this point. Pollard has 375 yds at 5.6 yds per carry and Elliott has 443 at 4.1. It takes away some depth and interchangeability for them. I see it as sitting Monty to let Herbert carry the load.
  20. And this week’s mid-week injury report not as good as last weeks’. Shows Patrick and Borom both as Not Practicing. Borom evidently was concussed. Two starters for the line potentially not available. How’s Leatherwood looking these days? ??
  21. Yup. Appears that is the trend. Dan Wierderer and others are saying the same. It was also mentioned that Pringle’s 21 day IR window will be open so he can start attending practices. Maybe available to play after this weekend.
  22. Agree. Sounds as though Whitehair is due back from IR soon (I honestly forgot he was there). He’s played C before. Maybe they should try him there again until they get a suitable option from somewhere else not named Mustipher.
  23. FWIW, my opinion is the Bears cannot let Roquan leave. (Stats from last game).
