I don't think it's an option to leave Fields as the only one inn the backfield. You can't read option or play action. With the empty backfield, the defense can call a run blitz and no longer need to spy Fields. This would essentially shorten the field, making it easier to defend. Now, if Fields were quicker on his reads, at lot would open up underneath. That is the opposite of his strength. Give him a couple of years and he could manage it.

They just did a piece on him on GMFB. Awesome story. The kid is a grinder...

Lewis could be a terror if he can stay healthy.

Agreed on swing tackle. Also, what are your thoughts on moving Smith to free safety? He is bigger than Jackson and has long arms. He's also a very willing tackler. I'm adding because just read it of the Bears site. "Smith, a safety from Minnesota, was named Honorable Mention all-Big Ten last year after starting all 13 games and compiling 38 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions and five pass breakups. Poles called Smith "a guy that really stood out to us at the East-West [Shrine] Game," adding: "He can straight fly on top of having size and length, which is beautiful.""

Does anyone else think that Terrell Smith could be a free safety candidate?

Beyond DE, I would love to see a RB and a move TE added. But, I agree if BPA is the plan, so be it.

All four of those guys are DE's that can play 3T on passing downs. Would be nice to have that versatility.

Poles is money. He said there were offers, but he never intended to go past ten. Love it!
-
Yo Adam, what's a good trade up package to get to the top of the second round?
-
	Lord Poles...

	Let's go!

Because this draft is becoming an addiction, here's another one. Made two trades to get more picks in the solid part of the draft.

It bothers me that the NFL has devalued the RB position. I could argue that a great running back can offset a lack of talent elsewhere. If he's a great pass catcher, he's a reviving weapon. If he's a great blocker, it makes his QB better. If he's a great runner, he keeps his defense off the field a little longer. Making everything about the quarterback has hurt every franchise that doesn't have one or that has overpayed for one. It's simply a trend I disagree with and don't care for.
-
Correct. Throw the draft chart out the window during day one of the draft. You always have to over pay.
-
You guys should look at the ESPN draft simulator. Nobody offers trades, but you can. Seems weighted well...

Yeah, I'm not a fan of those guys. I was out of there when they criticized him on the long TD run. He pulled and sealed, which most LT's cannot, then got knocked down when second defender tried to get through. Result TD. He is not a mauler and I know we all love the Jenkins and Long mentality, but does get the job done on a consistent basis. When he does get beat, he's still in the play, which is not a Leno trait. Giving up 5 sacks in 1700 snaps is a stat worth noting. Picking up blitzes and switching is where our OL failed last year and that is his strong suit. Paris Johnson still has more boom bust factor. Skor is what folks call a safe choice.
-
Yeah, I kinda of ripped into to you on that. My bad. While I still disagree on that issue, I'll never doubt your football IQ. Cheers my friend!...???
-
I'd go to war with Skor. His feet as elite. He can play all five positions. Paris Johnson has the most upside. He came out as true junior and didn't pay the covid season. I'd love either.

With us trying to build something, I'm afraid Carter might affect the culture. OL has the highest success rate of any other group when drafted in the first round. Poles needs a hit with his first 1st round pick to set the tone. I'm guessing OL.
-
Amen to that brother! We can agree, disagree and bust balls and nobody gets nasty about it. Bear down!
-
I've been watching the project interviews on GMFB and Bijan was on there. Very likeable guy. I have good service here, so I'll be able to tune into the draft. Can't wait. Hoping for 2 OL, 3 DL, RB, TE, CB, S and WR. Mojito ramble...?

Place your final mock drafts here. I'm leaving for Puerto Rico tomorrow, so I will submit mine tonight. Let's see if we get any right. Bear down boys!
