If we do get Trev, then Ragland is the perfect fit at the other spot. Draft him and the LBs are set for several years. Grab Scooby a little later as a guy who can fit inside or outside, and provides a dynamic pass rush from time to time.

The reverse-Ditka trade! I think this draft is seriously missing an ILB. Even with Trevathan, the ILB position needs attention.

Absolutely don't want to give up a 2nd round pick for a guy who is a slightly above average LB. The Bears would be better just drafting an ILB in the first few rounds to pair up with Trevathan, and pay him the rookie contract.

Sure. He'd be a decent third back, a rotational guy. He's injury prone, and has pissed me off in fantasy so many ways, but I have always thought he had a nice burst and shiftiness to him.

That was a little difficult to follow. I like the concept of multiple trades down, and love the resulting LB corp, but I don't like the players overall as much. If AJ gets traded, there needs to be a higher focus on WR. Also, with FA coming in a few days, I'm guessing the Bears will certainly get someone. Most likely they bring back Miller. In that case, Hunter Henry wouldn't be a pick I'd like. Without much thought into it, here's how I'd liike that same scenario to play out. 1-11-Myles Jack, ILB, UCLA. I think if he's there he's the likely pick. Leads the Defense on Day 1. 1-20-Robert Nkemdiche, DE, Ole Miss. Ridiculous/athleticism talent. Starts Day 1. 2-61-Jayron Kearse, SS, Clemson. Freak 2.0 starts Day 1. 3-81-Christian Westerman, OG, Arizona St. I think he's got a great chance to be very good in the NFL. 3-93-Kyle Murphy, OT, Stanford. The Bears need help at two OL spots unless addressed in FA. 4-103-Tyler Matakevich, ILB, Temple. I think the Jaylon Smith price will be too high (2nd). This guy is a great playmaker. 4-115-Scooby Wright, OLB, Arizona. Yeah, the combine was not his friend. I'm still a huge fan. 5-131-Kevin Hogan, QB, Stanford. Could surprise.

I think the word "emerged" was where there was confusion. Emerged to me means, "someone who showed an ability to play in the NFL". As far as McCarron goes, I don't think he's a quality back-up. I think he has starter abilities in a game-manager role. Very much so. Don't like that definition of emerge, then look to 2012 and you can see Kirk Cousins. He emerged regardless of the definition. Don't like that one, go to 2011, just one year back, and you'll find Tyrod Taylor, a guy who threw for over 3000 last year in 14 games. Go back a few more years and you can see a 6th rounder and a 7th rounder who both emerged, Derek Anderson & Matt Cassel. Long story short, it pays to keep rolling the dice and trying to find a diamond in the rough at QB.
