I don't know that I'd say Ortone was doing a 'great' job, but he did well at managing the game today and completing some passes when he had to, particularly on that first drive. And I agree Adibear, it doesn't matter who the QB is, as long as there is a W at the end of the game.

Yeah, I bet there is a feeling of satisfaction on the team after handing the Puckers their heads. And If Ron was any good as an OC he'd show a bit more creativity in dealing with the Oline problems. He hasn't. Instead, he just sticks to the same ole crap. Today it worked. It hasn't for much of the season. And it appears we agree, in the end.
-
Turner is still a problem. We had first and goal early on and it ended up going over on downs. Turner still sucks! The Oline too, thogh they did okay today.

That lump of coal in our stocking got a bit smaller! Merry Christmas to all the great posters here!

3 yards a rush seems to be working! Of course, we got those turnovers. Boy, oh boy. Lovie is going to be gushing in the postgame interview!
-
Urlacher 85 yards! That'll help the bad back!!!
-
Love it too, Pix. Turning into a fine game. Too bad it happens after all those loses.
-
Orton TD pass! THAT was not the 'Same Old Shit"!
-
Me thinks Alex Brown needs to be a Bear agian next season! Yeah!
-
Noooooooooooooooooooooo!
-
"Same old shit" We come out flat and the it goes downhill. And yeah, the Kool Aide doesn't get delivered here anymore!
-
I'm afraid your signature photo might come true Felix!
-
Maybe they can get Favre to fumble in the endzone! LOL or COL?
-
Like the fact we went for it, but come on, can we be a bit more imaginative instead of three crummy runs and THEN try a pass?
-
Yes, I liked the ball control and the pick up of 3rd downs, except for the final one. But I'll wait and see how the adjustments go down for the Puckers and Turner before I get excited about this one.
-
And ya gotta love those false start penalties. Lovie needs to get some discipline on the team.
-
You got that pretty much right on Mongo. I do think that we need to wait and see who's there when we draft, but we have to get some Ol guys in here that can play. FA will be critical, but it will also be costly. If I have to choose between resigning Briggs or getting a solid LT, no doubt in my mind I take the LT. OG is also going to be necessary and we need some youth that can play for the OL s well. It must be addressed in the offseason or we will be doomed next year.
-
Oh yea flea. What kind of guys would we want on the field if they were thinking "let's go out and lose this one"? Our draft pick is going to be high enough as it is. And we're talking about playing the team with the best record (tied) in the conference and then a team with playoff hopes (maybe), so they'll be tough ones anyway.

Things definitely caught up with the team this year. An unholy convergence of injuries, overconfidence, coaching brain farts, missed assignments, bad performance, dirty uniforms, poor groundskeeping--you name it, it happened. After so much expectation at the start of the season, the fall, for me at least, has been hard. Crap, I hate going back to "let's see what next season brings."
-
BTW, who else is missing from the old group? Did Clenched Claw make the transition? I sure hope so, cause he always was a "special" poster, to quote JA.

You may be right Bradjock. Hester is not the second coming of Red Grange. He's probably the best return guy so far to play football. And perhaps I'm laying too much on him to expect that he can transfer what he does on returns to the rgular O. He has a long way to go to learn routes, positioning, blocking, etc., that goes into making a solid WR. Realistically, then, writie him in as our no. 3 WR next season, try to sign Berrian, drop moose and draft or bring in a FA guy.
-
I'd love to see them promote the guys from the pactice squad for next week's game with NO. But, as I think I said before, Lovie doesn't seem to thrilled about seeing what alot of these guys can do.
-
He's a guy they have to get the ball to more. He's so damn explosive and knows what to do after he has the ball that he has to start. He is just raw right now and hopefully the next OC can bring his development along. As far as returns, no one is going to kick to him anyway until we have an O that can make them pay.
-
Just another example of Lovie with his head in the ground. Why all the crap? No one believes what he's saying and we all know they're evaluating, so, yes, why not Beekman? And Hass?
-
Yeah, I hear ya. But I just think that Football is the top game and only got two more weeks to see Da Bears. And the hated Puckers are in town. I'd go!
