  1. If we do nothing else in the offseason BUT fix the OLine in the offseason we should be improved. The Oline is the primary concern for sure.
  2. I think that's an excellent point. We are going to draft from need, but also BPA. I think we can get a QB after rd. one. WR seems to be a difficult position to find from what I've read--either through FA or the draft. I won't be all that surprised to see us take a OL or DB with the 14th pick. Or trade out.
  3. I know the logic, and I hope it works that way, but we all know about "a perfect world"!
  4. You could be right, and worse things could happen. Like tagging Rex! Now that would be a bad move.
  5. I agree with you on that DaBearSox. Kyle seems to be a bit more careful with the ball and a bit more elllusive (though not by much). I'd like it if we did resign Rex, but IMdO, there's going to be alot of money moving out there to entice him. And I don't see JA breaking the bank to keep Rex. But we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. This offseason is going to be big in determining whether or not we are competitive next year.
  6. Think you're right about Briggs. Rosenhaus is going to get some team to pony up big $ and the Bears will say thanks, but no thanks.
  7. What they do at QB is going to depend on Rex. If JA can sign him at a reasonable cost, I'd say that Griese is gone and they draft someone on day two. Then again, I don't think they can get Rex on the cheap, and some team is going to offer him a deal that he won't turn down. The we probably keep Griese and look for a QB day one of the draft.
  8. Pretty good summary of the reasons why they'll bring Turner back. All those excuses allow everyone to cover their butts and hopefully move on to improving the team through new assistant coaches and a shot of new talent on the field.
  9. Kind of like adjusting the mound or the level of the foul lines in baseball. That could insure we'd at least win 8 games a season! Oh, and we could turn them off when we had the ball, unless it was for a long FG attempt!
  10. We'd played only one game out of 16 that had swirling winds. So I agree, we need to develop the passing attack and then pound the ball after we have the lead. We were very successful early last season when Rex was delivering to Berrian with the long ball. For me, it will begin with the Oline. Gotta have the protection first, then everything else falls into place.
  11. I agree with you, you need to improve the WR talent and utilize Hester and Olsen more. Not too surprisingly, while listening to the game yesterday, Jeff Joniak said toward the end of the gme that the total number of passes thrown by the Bears this season ranked third all time for in team history. So I think that, in large part, Lovie is dreaming and pandering to the old scholl when he says 'get off the bus running'. I do think Ron can do a much better job of utilizing talent--Hester, Bradley, Olsen, giving Hass a look-see- than he's done. But we are moving into the 21st century football wise. And a solid OLine is going to make a big difference in the final score of games. Just look what Orton could do when he had time to find receivers.
  12. Sorry, I should have added ?The Bears' MVP.'
  13. You're right ConnorBear. That sucks. And NO even picks ahead of us. Damn the SOS!
  14. I think that JA and Lovie will look at the dismal play by the OLine and he'll be back. Now, the offensive line coach may get the boot to reinforce their decision.
  15. Any doubt? DEVIN!!!! See you next season Hester. Have a safe offseason, and learn how to block as a WR!
  16. After today's effort, I'd say that Turner probably saved his job. That means we're probably going to have alot to talk about throughout the season next year.
  17. So the Seachikens finish the regular season with a loss to Atlanta. Now that is building momentum for the playoffs! Then again, they are IN the playoffs. But I don't think they are going anywhere but home after their first game.
  18. This game has had about everything. A HB pass, a punt return for TD, and a safetie. And what's even better, they all favored the Bears. Fun game.
  19. Damn! Well, Orton is human, and he's a Bears QB.
  20. From the mouths of kids and drunks! You got that right. Brown has earned a good contract. We can have one hell of a front 4 and then our LBs aren't too shabby, either.
  21. That's a big reason why this is the end of the season for us.
  22. I'm afraid you're right ConnorBear. There's alot of $ out there that teams spend in crazy ways.
  23. At the very least Kyle is making Griese superfulous. If we can resign Rex, I think we dump Griese and draft a QB.
  24. Where has this OLine protection been all season? Give the QB time and he can deliver! Hester gets it in the endzone!
