With so much up in the air as far as rebuild or win now, locker room problems, which players do you keep which do you get rid of I like the idea of an experienced HC. I wonder why he is getting out of Denver???? Smells kind of weird.
-
I think Kyle Long is a great player and probably a good teammate, but that was childish. Hopefully a joke tho....Long was wrong for his tweet and Bennett was wrong too. I could see Bennett and BM not being the best for the locker room environment but their production is great. I would hope the new HC could get this team on the same page. Pace and company better get this hire right. Even tho I don't think it will be hard to get a better HC than Trestman.

Cam is faster, reminds me of Big Ben....... maybe a little faster than Big Ben!!
-
Anyone see the twitter message from Bennett to Kyle Long? Marty to Long on twitter "why are you worried about who is following you on twitter? More important shit is happening in world than Kyle Long's tweets. I don't need this form of social currency maybe you do. If a follow from me is going to make you feel wealthier then u need to get out more. I prefer our day to day interactions in person. But that's just me. You have my number. Stop the bullshit." Not sure what caused Marty to tweet this. I hope there isn't a real locker room problem. As for the tweet, why tweet this and complain about social media on social media. Stupid. I love that he says to stop the bullshit you have my number, why not just call Kyle.

Kevin Turks Out as Director of Pro Personnel
Chitownhustla replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
This is what I wanted to see. Change.......I love it. Im sure Pace has someone in mind!!!! -
cant argue with anything you wrote. which is sad! I like Bowles from what I have read. The players really went to bat for him, seem to love the guy!
-
If the Bears want him they better act fast, Jets and Falcons bringing him in on a 2nd interview.

What was Bill's record the year Tom go hurt?????

With the coaching change about to be determined it is hard to come up with a plan of the defensive side of the ball. Two things are true tho, with with a 3/4 or 4/3 there needs to be upgrades at the Safety positions and Linebacker positions. If they were to go to a 3/4 more upgrades would be needed at the linebacker position tho. 4-3 DE= with Allen, Houston and Young (if Houston and Young are healthy), Bass. I feel the Bears could get by at DE for a year DT= Ratliff, Ego, Sutton and Paea (if resigned) I feel we could be ok here LB= this one Im not sure on what to do here, who plays where who stays who goes, Jones MLB, Bostic WSB and SLB???? do you ride with SMC and hope for continued improvement? CB= Jennings and Fuller as the starters Im good with FS= Upgrade needed SS= Upgrade needed With better scheme and coaching the D should improve slightly. When there are so many needs all at once Pace will need to figure out which position is most important. A couple of things do into this : 1. Which position has a Strong class of FA 2. Which position has a strong draft class 3. Which positions have strong draft and FA classes next year 4. What route of FA signings will give the Bears the best chance of drafting BPA 5. Price of the FA, don't want to overspend Cant wait to see who the HC is and what scheme we will be playing from here on out!!!

I haven't read up on every canidate yet so I'm wondering, why do you want him more than others?
-
That was fast.... Decosta and now Kubiak.... What are they putting in the water over there???
-
was Garza better at G or C? The reason I ask, I thought its been mentioned that he was better at G. Why not Move Long to RT, have Mills as a back up and put Garza back at G. Then draft or sign a Center. Wouldn't that make the Oline a whole lot better, that is if Garza would be capable at performing well at G. The Bears will get Slauson back. RT- Long RG- Garza C- player to be named LG- Slauson LT- Bushrod or swap Long and Bushrod........Maybe Im wrong but Long was drafted to one day be a T.
-
Im fine with not spending big this FA season. Get the coaches in place, add some new guys and see where everyone fits in and get a better idea of what is needed. We will see if this is true, there is no way to truly quantify how bad the coaching staff was along with how bad the entire locker room split was amongst teammates and coaching staff. I would be willing to go out on a limb and say with the right HC and staff being hired we could see a 2 game swing in wins just because of a new HC. Teams have came back quickly before, as Pace already said the most important thing on his agenda is to hire the RIGHT man for the HC position.
-
Who knows, maybe Pace added him to the list of potential HC interviews. He did describe a guy that could get guys to buy in, lead a group of men, charismatic.. Those are all things Rex are known for. If the Bears brought him in to interview and got the job Im sure Rex has other OC's he has in mind.
-
Looking at the list of WR, its been said we could really use a Speed WR. There are two on this list that I wonder what type of money would they command, Jermey Maclin and Randle Cobb. I like the idea of taking a wr away from the Packers while addressing one of the Bears needs! Double Positive!!! Not that I think WR is our biggest concern, just a thought.

Let Pace and a new HC sit BM down and tell him what will be tolerated and what won't be. I hope he is not traded, I love watching him play. For Jay and BM- the only way I would be fine with them being traded would be getting 2nd or higher draft picks. Trading either would also mean it's a total rebuild. Pace did say you can win quickly.
-
What's NO got? 1. Great Coach 2. Great QB Drew was good in SD, but not as great as he has been in NO. Some has to do with The HC. I'm wondering who Ernie is recommending for the HC. I like that Pace will be looking for a Sean Payton type of guy. Not a Trestman type of guy. Sooooooooo thankful the Enery and Treatman era is over!!!!! Quick question, did Emery get interviewed for any other GM positions?
-
Im excited about Pace and you are right if he is asking Ted for advice then I will be worried about Pace.
-
Nope you are right, no need for a GM, let Ted do it! It sounds to me that he has full control of player personnel decision not sure on the rest. Im hoping he has full control over everything, Staff, Staff structure, Coaching. What if Pace wants to add some people to his staff, does he have to get approval from Ted? Or make a change with a staff member, say a guy that has been with the Bears for a long time, does Ted get veot that? If there is a up and coming scout that Pace wants, but has to replace a current scout to get him will he be able to? If he has FULL control I feel the press conference would have sounded different.
-
Not as comical as your butt love for Jemarcus Webb......... Let me ask you this, when our new GM needs to lean on someone would you rather him lean on Ted Phillips or Bill Polian or Ron Wolf???? Im betting you are not going to answer Ted Phillips.....Ill say it again, I want the strongest team, front staff and management group possible for the Bears. If you think that is possible with Ted Phillips you are wrong.
-
Here is my only concern, their have been a couple of things said about Ballard not being hired because he wanted too much change. People have stated that its Ballards camp putting a spin on it to save face for the next GM interview he does. Now the next day Pace says he will be leaning on Ted numerous times and that Pace will be answering to Ted. from Paces interview, I am on board with this hire, I love the fact that he comes from the Saints, he has seen adversity(bounty gate) and seen a SB won. He has seen Loomis and Sean work together.
-
For you guys who don't think Ted will be involved from this press conference he will be. Pace has said it a couple of times "He will lean on Ted". Once again Ted is at the top Pace answers to him This is why it is important Ted not be in the position he is in, if he was only on the business side Pace would not be "leaning" on Ted. I really don't want Pace leaning on Ted for anything. With this, Im not saying Ted needs to be fired, just moved to business side only.
-
You could definitely tell he was nervous at the beginning. Its his first press conference ever.

About the Front office staff and structure: First has to find the right HC 2nd needs to Evaluate the current staff before making any changes 3rd evaluate Roster Wont make any changes until he has evaluated the front office staff, said there are good people in the building also said he has front office staff guys he knows and has relationships with that could be brought in
