That would be a great start to this year after already locking up Royal, Pernell, royal and Rolle!

I'm still laughing that I pasted a link to Brooks. I had hoped the Bears looked at him.... Lol
-
Read the article. It says it twice. http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/07/21/lamarr-ho...oakland-raiders Holy shit, pasted the wrong article
-
Don't take this as fact but I vaguely remembering him being injury prone, especially his last year at Buf.
-
Oakland played multiple scheme. 2013 lamar's position was essentially a pass rushing OLB. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooks_Reed

Houston played the DE spot in Oakland's 3-4. He should be able to do the same here if needed.

Bears College Scouting Director @ Bama Pro Day
Chitownhustla replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
Cooper is going to be a great one, I say this from watching a lot of Bama games last year. Everyone knew the ball was going to go to Cooper and no one could stop him. He made it look very easy. I'm with you on going Defense at 7. I am really intrigued by Vic Beasley. I know the Bears signed Pernell but imagine having Beasley opposite him. It would be a very hard tandem to scheme against. -
You are right about the it being a good situation last year but once the Oline broke down the entire Offense went to shit. The play calling didn't help the offense any. I have seen tape broken down of some of Jay's mistakes last year under Trestman. He definitely missed some reads but I will add that Trestmans play calling was terrible last year. It was very predictable. The two added together with bad oline play = the pile of shit we saw. Shanny did roll him out which a lot of guys here have screamed for the Bears to do ever since we got him. No clue why neither Lovie's or Trestman's coaches did this. I hope for our sake that Gase does 1. Run the ball first 2. Roll Jay out or put him the best position to be successful 3. Break Jay of the turnover habits If he does that we could see Jay play out his contract.

That's a bold statement about Cutty and Shanny.......... I have always been a firm believer that if the Bears had put him in the right situation he could have been great. I thought last year was that right situation. Who knows how much of it was because of dysfunction created by Trestmand and staff. I'm not making any excuses for Cutler but he has never really been in a good situation since joining the Bears. JA hosed that up by never getting him a supporting cast or Olineman(Ill never forget the game against the Giants wee Cutler was sacked 8 times in the first half), Lovie could never get a good OC then Emery hosed up by hiring Trestman.

They both came in for meetings but have not signed yet...... Are they waiting to see if they can get better deals? I really would like to see Royal sign. Rolle from what his stats look like last year can still be productive so I would be happy with him as well. Pot Roast from everything I have read is wanting too much money, hoping the Bears can make it work with him as it opens up what they can do draft day. Any word on Foster at LB??? With the signing of Pernell does that eliminate Brooks from consideration?
-
Good point on Kruger, I had the same questions about him when he signed with the Browns. Seeing that as a full time starter he still produced makes me feel better about this signing. I hope this guy is as good as his rankings were last year if not better. Playing every down is a whole lot different then being the relief guy. It could help him get into a groove better.

Info that keeps getting tweeted Pace is taking his time and doesn't want to overpay for FA. Good sign
-
I'm on fence too. Like that he is 26 and can play multiple positions. Not liking that he has never been a full time player and read that he may have had issues with both knees.
-
That's where Cliff Stein comes in
-
Hold up.....the Eagles trade Shady, the Saints trade jimmy, the Bears trade BM and now the Raiders are not overpaying for FA's........next thing you are going to tell me is Synder is changing the Redskins name........ WTF is going on in the NFL...... I'm loving it.
-
yeah.... I know....I wasn't being serious.......
-
If they really put him on the trading blocks the love fest between Payton and Drew may cool off a bit. Some serious man love going on there! lol
-
The only reason I would want Rolle is if it meant they got a good deal and were able to sign Pot Roast with then money saved by not signing Searcy. The Bears NEED Youth with talent......not old guys with aging talent!!!!

Cutler for Drew....straight up.

Bernstein: Bears working relentlessly to move Cutler
Chitownhustla replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
The fumbles are not all on him, the fumbles he had were he held on to the ball too long go on Cutler, the fumbles from poor protection and Cutler getting hit within 3 seconds go on either scheme or pass protection breaking down. Turnovers are going to happen. The only thing I hope for that Gase will be able to put in place a game plan/ scheme that limits his exposure to turnovers and the oline is able to provide better protection. If the oline gives Cutler better protection it will limit the amount of fumbles and reduce the amount of pressure Cutler feels which will get him more comfortable in the pocket. If Cutler is not fearing for his life before every snap I hope he can jump the big INT hurdle that has plagued him. -

Bernstein: Bears working relentlessly to move Cutler
Chitownhustla replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
It really is as simple as that. We all know he is good for 3,500 yards 28 to 30 TD's. ITs just the stupid WTF INT'S. If he could hit these numbers while only throwing around 12 INT'S I think everyone would be pretty happy. And for a little icing on the cake Don't look like such as asshole on sidelines, Im tired of everyone picking apart his demeanor. Was there a better option at OC than Gase, the Bears literally got the best OC on the market. Not to mention the best DC too. Maybe Jay's sideline and on filed demeanor will be better if they actually put some W's on the board. -
