  1. Can they scheme things to involve Allen, yes but it will tip their hand as to what side they will be rushing from. Jared can still get after the QB but I don't see him dropping back into coverage. Peppers has dropped back into coverage for GB this year but not a lot. Allen may say he doesn't want to be a OLB and that he would like to be traded or released. We will see.
  2. Love that they are going to the 3-4. Something new!! SMC can go back to his college position, so if he performs like a 1st round 3-4 OLB we may have just gained a decent 1st round pick. Just trying to see the positives right now. Projecting Willie and Jared as OLB= they both can play the position with their hands in the dirt. Rushing the passer from the outside is the same as a DE or OLB. Very noncommittal on Cutler= I like this. Fox and Pace are a unified front on this topic saying the same things. Maybe they are trying to see if there will be a trade partner for him. Other teams are now thinking they may be able to get him. Some guys have commented here that there would be a trade partner out there, we should find out. BM= they want to make sure that Chicago and winning is the most important thing to him. BM just prove it and you and will be back!! What do you guys think for OLB Jared and Willie on one side and SMC and Jones on the other????
  3. yep, Briggs could benefit from it by showing he is in shape but he will NEVER attend it. The guys that this will attract are the undrafted or late round draft picks that did not make any rosters. I would say the biggest percentage of guys would be 1 to 4 years out of college. Then a few older vets that may want one more chance. Im sure there are a lot of guys that are loving this. Guys that dont want to give up on their dream of making it. I like this because this gives Pace another avenue to upgrade the roster. Maybe Pace can find a diamond in the rough, even a guy that be a quality SP teams player and back up.
  4. Now the boring time of the year. Cant wait for FA to begin!!!!!! Pace and Fox now have to go through the roster and prepare for the draft. The next couple of months should be a little more interesting then years past 1. The great Jay debate will be solved.....will they try to win with him now, will they cut him or trade him 2. Marshal= where there is smoke there usually is fire......has he really worn out his welcome 3. What scheme will the Bears be running on D???? should get a pretty good idea by the roster moves 4. what older players will be resigned or cut???? I am really excited to see what the Bears do in FA and the Draft.....not to mention what route they go with Jay..... Who is ready for some Football????!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I would go with Tom Brady over Joe and Terry and the only reason would be that Tom did it while playing with a Salary Cap. I have only seen highlights of Terry Bradshaw so its hard for me to basis my opinion on game film comparison. I did grow up watching a lot of Joe Montana. Joe was awesome. It is hard to say Tom was better. I would almost rank them both #1 and the reason I would gibe Tom the nod I have already mentioned above.
  6. Put Shae in the whatever position he played in college. Let him run around and make plays with out having to think! the kid can play OLB in a 3-4, he just was out of position in a 4-3 no matter where you put him He was better at OLB than DE.
  7. You are not alone. I think you can win with Jay. Fox should be the strong leader the team desperately needed. Run the shit out of the ball, take pressure of Cutler. Improve the D and they could push for the playoffs. 5-11 last year Minus Trestsman and Tucker= + 2 game win Add Fox and Fangio and Gase + 1 or +2 Run the Ball + 1 Improve D + 1 10 wins next season! Pretty simple if you ask me...lol
  8. The money hole gets larger in dead cap space not actual money paid to Cutler.
  9. I thought it was 16 millions cut this year and 10 mil if cut next????
  10. http://www.drafttek.com/2015-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp Read who the Bears pick. Looks like Ray has blazing speed!
  11. i love the first two picks. Want to see the combine numbers... Ray needs to be a 4.6 - 4.7 40.... Cone drills need to be good to. Guys his size need speed and quickness to translate in the NFL.
  12. With the Bears switching to a 3-4 they will need a pass rushing OLB and a middle clogging nose. I would rather them spend big on one of the mentioned rather than S. Moore would be cheaper than McCourty, younger and an upgrade from what the Bears have. If they spend big in FA i would rather James Houston, OLB from Kansas City. he is 26 years old.
  13. McCourty is great, if Moore is cheaper and 3 years younger I like the Moore option. How big of a drop off is there between McCourty and Moore? Hoping scs787 would have some info on this as I have not paid attention to these guys.
  14. Its on the news all day, even Fox News. Its being made into this HUGE deal. I can understand it being this big of s deal if it had anything to with deciding the outcome of the game, Madlith mentioned that the advantage may have helped with the outcome of the Ravens game. A game of inches....
  15. I can see both sides. If he got in shape and gave 100% effort then Im cool with him coming back for another year. Only because there are a lot of holes to fill on the Defense. Experienced pro bowl LB could help with the transition from the 3-4 to the 4-3, that would only happen if he was 100% bought into the new Coaching staff and in shape. The less holes to fill the better, and the better chance Pace has at drafting BPA. The only way the Bears gets this thing turned around is through the draft. The only way i see Briggs coming back is if Fox sits down with him and get the promise of a team player Briggs, not fat disgruntled Briggs.
  16. I loved Briggs, was very close to buying a Briggs jersey. Last year ruined it for me. If he showed up to camp in the best shape of his life, ready to go I bet he could be a good LB for the Bears. Sign him to a contract that is Bear friendly, if he gets cut he gets nothing. I bet he comes in to camp in shape. If he is slow and fat they can cut his ass. Its a win win for the Bears. Fox can make an example of him if he is not a team player. Also it could go over well with the team, shows the Bears care about their guys. They will at least have given Briggs a chance to go out as a Bear. The Bears may have lost the team with the way they treated 54. Let Briggs hang himself or prove himself
  17. Comparing a basketball to bean bag not similar to a football 1 PSI off, because from one article I read it was not 2 psi off only 1psi off. Grab two football's one at 12.5 psi and one at 11.5 psi......We are not talking about a huge difference. The difference between 2psi and 1 psi will not make the difference between winning and losing. If it was such a huge difference why did the Pats pull away in the 2nd half after the balls were inflated????????? If its such a huge advantage the Pats should have crumbled, fumbled, thrown some INT's. The exact opposite happened, it's why Im saying the game is not won because of how many PSI's the football has. Brady had a way better half with the inflated balls. Blount didnt fumble while running it down the Colts throats. The PSI of those footballs didnt not affect the outcome of that game.
  18. I agree, make it real simple everyone uses the same balls! You think the Pnut punch was ever stopped because of a deflated ball? Or when a defender puts his helmet on the ball, you think the psi change weather the ball came out?
  19. Just my two cents: I have played in many games where the team we were playing used a completely different ball. In highschool a few teams used rubber balls where we used leather. Never did i think they may have an unfair advantage. All I was worried about was beating the shit out of the man across from me. In all of my highschool and college games never did I worry about the psi in a ball. I dont even think they checked the psi on any game balls in college or highschool. In college everyone had to use the same type of ball, each team had their ball to use but all were the same. The balls were inflated at halftime, the Pats beat the crap of the Colts in the 2nd half. This really is a non issue. Football is not won by how many PSI are in a football.
  20. Don't forhet the year we traded back with the Jets.... We got Haines and Sexy Rexy...... That worked out well.. There are a few names of top tier talent the Bears could have had... You know the saying about hindsight Shit Troy Polumou sp? Could have been drafted at the Haines spot!
  21. So we should have a good idea of which way they are going to go by the moves they make on personnel. I like the idea of going to a 3-4 but it really sucks having Young and Houston both hurt and up in the air with how they will be once back on the playing field. Houston has played in the 3-4 and can play DE in that scheme. Young would be considered a 4-3 DE along with Jared Allen but Im sure they can be used in some capacity. Can Jared Allen be cut or is his money guaranteed?
  22. Has it been confirmed that the Bears will be going to a 3-4?
  23. Weis has proved to be a great OC. HC not sooo much.... If fox and Pace feel he is the best OC out of the litter then I'm good with it!!
