Perfect world you acquire FA to allow yourself to draft BPA. I want them to get to this point!

Asked about if he would have final say on HC: Started with he will lean on TED, George and Ernie but will have final say. Im sorry why will TED be leaned on, he has no business being leaned on.
-
Ill be watching the whole thing, Ill try to notes all the important things discussed.
-
You are right, no doubt. Emery did do some good things, he biggest mistakes were the Cutler contract and hiring the wrong HC. How much the coaching staff affected Cutler can not be determined. Hopefully he hires a better coach than Trestman.

Swartz was an idiot, the Lions were undisciplined and could never win the close games. How many games did the Lions barely win in the last seconds of games this past year???I can remember 3 or 4 maybe 5 last second field goals or TD's to win games this season. Under Swartz they rarely ever won those games. If you think the HC had zero impact on the entire team including the Defense I will have to disagree with you. Im not saying Austin is not a good coach, I just want a more proven track record for our HC.

OK, so Im listening to the score right now Mannelly heard from his sources that Pace had a list of what control he wanted and that he got it. So that calms some of my fears.
-
How much is that because of the new HC?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...108-column.html Quote from the article: Then, in what one source described as McCaskey's quest to break the cycle, Pace emerged after an impressive interview that dazzled McCaskey and President Ted Phillips. It probably helped Pace's cause that Ballard challenged the Bears hierarchy during his meeting by wanting to limit Phillips' involvement, according to another source. We will likely never know how much Ballard's boldness intimidated the Bears or Pace's panache simply enthralled them. But the tide turned. When I say I want the new guy to have total control I don't mean just in player personnel decisions. Total Control 1. Coaching staff 2. Player draft and FA signing 3. Front office Staff Structure 4. Personnel of Front office I am all good with this hire, if he gets control of all 4 aspects. One part of the whole thing I never thought of, Ballard knew where the Bears were lacking from his time here.

If true, this scares the shit out of me.
-
I heard Ernie wasn't at the interviews, is this true?
-
I'm referring to Ballard coming up in the Bears ranks

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...e3-b9bf90f30277 Played 4 years at Eastern Illinois. So he is a football guy!
-
Well they didn't go with a guy that came up through their ranks, he comes from a franchise that is always in playoff hunt, ever since Drew Breese and Sean Payton came to town. New Orleans has been on a good run as of late. The biggest black eye on the NO saints would be the bounty gate. They never draft at the beginning of the draft due to winning all the time.
-
Here is my question, did Ballard want to change too much up or too much control? It was stated that Ballard wouldn't take a job unless he got everything he wanted. Did Pace agree with less change????
-
They have similar rules here in Illinois. If you don't blow you automatically get your license suspended.... What happens is if you don't blow they have no evidence, your attorney gets you off and you don't have anything on your record and no suspension. That at least what has happened to a couple of friends. Shit I know some that have blown and got off.
-
you cant force anyone to take a breathalyzer, even my cop buddies recommend to never blow even if you have only had a couple of drinks.

As for not firing Dimitri, I would assume the Falcons are putting the Blame on Mike smith not getting enough out of the talent they have. Emery and Trestaman had to go, there was no keeping either of them. I am posting this to show a franchise making a structure change. Dimitroff and Pioli is a better team than Phillips and insert new GM name. I have not heard one person give one reason why the Bears structure is the right way to do things. Every single person has said they need a FOOTBALL guy in Ted Phillips spot. I want the Bears to form the strongest front office staff as possible. From listening to an interview with Greg Gabriel, the drafting and FA decisions are made with a group effort. Final say comes down to one guy but it very much is a group effort in deciding which guy to draft. The stronger the front office staff the better the FA signings will be and better the drafts will be. Here is a little more info http://espn.go.com/blog/atlanta-falcons/po...dimitroff-pioli

More about the structural change. He had to fire Emery and Trest, it was so bad he couldnt do anything else.

Now interviewing Bowles on Thursday.

-
Restructure....... Going with the Ravens front office model. Saw this on Twitter... Good old Chris Mort https://twitter.com/mortreport/status/552976316824563713 Greorge should have done the same.

Dorial Green-Beckham= monster steal!!!!! If you are getting rid of BM then Im all for this. Shit even if they kept BM this guy is a beast.
-
can anything else happen to make this shit pile smell an worse?????
-
I hope this is not true. I hope the McCaskeys up top let the new staff decide what's best for the team. The guy even when down a ton against the Packers was giving 110%, going all out. Can a new coaching staff/ GM get BM to tone down the social media arguments and locker room problems?? If there are real locker room problem? The Bears should at least give the new Staff a chance and say in what happens with BM The only reason I see getting rid of BM right now would be to get some new draft picks higher in the rounds or a 2nd. He is getting older and probably only has a couple good years left. If you can get some type of worthy compensation for him now I would understand it. I agree that having Alshon and BM are very similar, but Defenses trying to game plan against them both is difficult.
