  1. As Doug Buffone once put it ( run the ball and stop the run). That applies to today's game plus TOs, are the keys to winning. Is it 16 interceptions in the last 6 games for us?
  2. It's great that Stroud played well, but clearly the majority of experts thought Young would be the prize of the draft. This years can't miss QB is Williams but they're seems to be some questions on intangibles. Experts never get fired for judging the QBs wrong, they just move on to next years group but GMs that listen to them do. If Poles finds the next great QB, Im all in on that guy, I trust him to make the best choice for our future. If he thinks draft choices and Fields are the best choice, I'm all in on that too. I don't think we have any bad choices, it's just one will be better than the other.
  3. That's a new name, they can keep Flus and change the direction of the offense with a new coordinator. Both wouldn't have to go.
  4. When he was hired, his main function was to take care of the stadium, he said that in his first interview but said he wanted to get more involved in the every day operation. The title of President is prescribed to what ever job it is stated. His expertise is not in personal or running a team it was always about the financial structure of a team. I've plumbed my whole life , I'm hiring an accountant and turned over the business operations with no experience, that would be a bad business plan. You let him learn as he goes and maybe down the road let him take care of those affairs. No way any organization is hiring a new GM and coach and then the next year hire a President and expect him to burn it down and start over. His influence will be shown once the company wants a new GM and go a different direction , that's when he will take control of the whole operation.
  5. Love could end up being good but he's never going to be a tier 1 QB . None of us want to see that happen so we don't want to see any positives he shows. I think anything that Love shows is a product of having a good coach than actual talent. Just like any QB, you keep pressure on him, he doesn't play well.
  6. If we win Sunday there is no question Flus will be back. Poles picked him as the coach out of several candidates then stated his plans to be a good team in a 4 year plan. He gutted the roster in the first year that limited his wins. Poles won't hold that against him. IF we win Sunday he will be 6-2 in the last 8 games that doesn't send the message of ( fire me). Of course he's not perfect, but is learning as a newish HC. Poles will admit his plans have failed firing a coach in year 2. I don't think he does that. As far as Getsy, his job is in jeopardy but still good be brought back for continuity. 8-9 finishing 6-2 , im not sure anyone looks as that as a bad season. Now if we get blown out, all that good will may be thrown out the window. It's a close call on if he stays or goes. Warren will get involved but he's not there yet. His experience is as a lawyer , never has been in personal or day to day operations. The stadium is his main focus, when that's done, you will see him more involved. last time I checked, we don't even know where it's going.
  7. Poles gave a 6 th round pick for him to add depth to IOL and he's had some nagging injuries but has been healthy the last few weeks. He's in the same category as Patrick but is more stout at the point of attack .
  8. I'm down in Cabo San Lucas and went to eat , the Bears- Packers game in on TV losing 24-6 and thinking I got my days mixed up. I was freaking out their losing and realized it was replay of game 1. I still drank a tequila but felt better it wasn't game 17.
  9. I'm probably the biggest loser over the last few years, and it doesn't stress me at all. I try to think I'm smart but it's probably more about luck than football IQ. Injuries usually always derails my teams, but I like trying to be competitive and play GM, not sure I will ever grow out of that. We do it on here all the time.
  10. I think he definitely hasn't shined as a HC, but his first year the roster was stripped down to probably the worst in the league. In his second year, he has shown growth and kept the players together with all the losing. That's hard to do. Poles picked him so he will have more patience than the fan base does. In today's society, everyone wants instant success, that's just hard to do. If we ever want stability it won't come changing coaches every two years.
  11. He is also under pressure at a high rate which affects his stats.
  12. Poles is going to do what he thinks is best for the team but dont think he isnt listening to the locker room. If he picks another QB and he plays poor in the first season, he will lose the fanbase, locker room and the owners. Not good for job security.
  13. https://x.com/shane_riordan/status/1742733629862654071?s=20 This is way cool
  14. Poles has set the habit of making one big contract per offseason. It may be bringing back JJ in a tagged spot. If he lets him walk, it may be a pass rusher or a FS. Jackson and Whitehair are gone, so that will give us more to work with. Centers can be gotten for 10 mil a yr and there are always a lot of Ss on the market. I think he drafts another weapon and pass rusher early in the draft. Then fills in with needs, more OL depth, DL depth.
  15. Carter will be an elte player but we had to start building the OL and getting a potential all pro RT is no problem. I think because of all the complaints of fans of not having weapons for Justin led to the V Jones pick and Claypool acquirutition that were probbably not thought out very well.
  16. That's how you attack the Bears on paper, quick throws underneath, there will only be a few passes down field. If they stop tyhe run and get a lead that will force Love into some TOs. They also know Patrick is a weakness so they will try to explote that. We need a lot of rollouts and RPOs.
  17. This is fantasy as far as tradebacks but I like Fantasy. We end up with pick 9 and 13.
  18. This is the first time I seen this, anybody remember this? https://youtube.com/shorts/BkakoxJ16hA?si=LVCMOGVDWKJFLaKO
  19. Davis had a bad year but you have to cut him some slack. His mom lived with him and was dying, then passed. It screwed up his preparation for the season and contributed to injuries along the way. His history is above average play with an attitude. His 2nd year is fully guaranteed. He's not going anywhere.
  20. I'm not sure Poles drafts a LT. Braxton Jones is the feather in his cap. A 5 th rounder that started day one. He has improved over both seasons. Of course a high end LT would be better but redrafting positions this soon? Plus like you said, not paying a big contract.
  21. I meant that our 2nd round pick is Sweat, we just got it in november instead of waiting for the draft.
