Poles already has an opinion on him, of course but the deep dive is when unexpected things pop up. That's why they do it. If he clears his character issues, I think he drafts him too. Just don't think it's final yet.
-
I keep hearing different amounts, not sure who is right or wrong. If he wants someone, he will play with the numbers to make it work. Last year he went into the season with 9 mil on the books. No way he's going thru the season with only a few mil for in season transactions.
-
That's my opinion. That means I 100 % thinks he will get more picks. You make statements like that all the time, why is that a problem ? You don't think so? I'm A gambler, if you disagree 20? 100? That's how sure I am. I'll send the money to Adam to handle it.
-
You're right about probable outcome but we don't know what Poles thinks of Caleb. He won't do the deep dive until his 30 visit., Then I think things will be more clear. He may like another QB.
-
We can't have much left after getting Allen. He can work numbers if he wants someone but it gets tougher going forward.
-
That's your opinion, it only matters what Poles thinks of him. Poles is in the position to make the best call on the good or bad of Justin. The story of Justin being on the trade market is totally media projection. How do have a market when he's not trying to trade him. All of these insiders have not even got one acquisition right. There's no inside information at Halas Hall. Facts, Until Poles takes his 30 visit, he has not made any decisions on who is QB is this year. He actually said that. If he wants Caleb then he will put Justin on the market. Or ( my theory) he keeps both. We only have 4 draft picks. He will absolutely get more. It increases the chances of his first round picks being traded. We still have holes to fill and people afe offering him a kings ransom for pick one. He literally said he liked what he did last year and thinks that could be better this year. If everything is OK with Caleb, I thinks he takes him but we don't know that yet.

Got it. -
I remember last year they said other than Williams, the QBs were scarse. Now we have potential 4 going in the first round. No one knows how QBs work out year to year. We can take a QB out of the first round and have one to develop while Justin proves himself. Nix and Penix are projected to be there in the 2nd round. There is always a prospect to get every year . Is Bagent being developed? He's not a tier one but last year Prudy came out of nowhere and was in the SB. Howell and Geno Smith were surprises. Mayfield got cudos. There's never a dire situation when it comes to find a starter.

We aren't getting rid of Herbert. Use last year as an example, we were down to our 4th RB. Injuries are unexpected. You think it's worth a 6th pick to lose depth Here's an interesting podcast Listen to Bears trade for Keenan Allen & tons more with Josh Lucas from Hoge & Jahns: a show about the Chicago Bears on Audacy - https://go.audacy.com/wV5wcJX3ZHb -
I'm not sure they have the money to get two Prime vets.

It was only a day , and Justin is on vacation, just may not have connected with him yet. I think drafting Caleb would only be the prospect that their would be a problem with. Super ego. Anyone else will need some time to develop. So they have him sit for a year and develop. Tell Justin he has a year to prove himself, the rookie doesn't have any leverage. Best of both worlds. It worked out in KC.
-
It's okay to stick it to them because they're in our division. Teams fighting for the first pick is driving the price up.
-
Doing right by him is trying to get him traded where he may want to go. Or keeping him as his QB.
-
So the narrative that we are taking Williams and trading Justin could be a projection?
-
They want the first pick. They now have 11 and 23 in the first round. What else can we get from them? They still have next years first. Jordon Addison? Played with Williams.

Minnesota just traded with Houston to acquire their first round pick. They now have. 11-23 In the first round. Their next pick is third round. I wonder who they want to trade with? -
Walker is not a bad p!ayer. He just doesn't over pay for players. I think he figures the draft for premium players. One DL in the first round.
-
I thinking that will happen.
-
In all that we look at year 2 is when young players usually make a jump. Dexter Scott Pickens Stevenson T Smith Wright R Johnson N Sewell Does the new DL coach help Robinson get his act together? Does Colin Johnson make a contribution?
-
Most rookies struggle their first year. 2-3 years is normal. Now blue chip players sometimes hit the ground running. I'm curious if V Jones lasts one more year. Can Waldron find a way to use him.
-
And now we have a OC that won't throw 36 WR screens in a game. They can't load the box. A defense that can get TOs On the low side top 10 offense and tio 10 defense.
-
Poles has already established he prefers to build off the draft and fills the middle and bottom of the roster with free agency. He added two blue chip players thru trades. The big win this off-season was resigning JJ win win. Last year EJAC was a weakness and Poles addressed it with adding 3 Ss. Owens is a good get. Kevin Byard is a tough team leader, and will add more TOs We have added Keenan Allen and Gerald Everett, both have a low drop rate Swift upgrades the RB room and guarantees strong depth. We have added 4 OL, 2 capable OCs that can play OG. 2 OTs that can play OG. None are going to a pro bowl but definitely an upgrade. Jones and Wright would be a year more developed. Davis is past his personal issue and will end up a plus player. Hopefully Jenkins can stay healthy. The defense is a edge and DT away from being elite. Will be addressed in the draft. Whether its Caleb or Justin they are put in a good place to succeed. I tink Poles had a 4 year rebuild that may have arrived in year 3.

He clearly is in win now mode. The window appears to be 24-25 to get to a SB. What's next? I think trading the first pick is it play. Not saying we won't draft a QB , I think he picks up some picks and gets a different QB. We need a Edge-DT-WR3 and more OL depth. Another TE seems likely. With 4 picks. The free agents are starting to scale down. He's trading back a few times. I think the second round is his sweet spot. Need more. I would say we could have gotten one with a Justin trade but the media has killed that thought. Next week is coming soon.
-
I think the fact we have only 4 draft picks indicates we're trading both 1+9. I think #1 could lead to another trade back. If there's 3 trade backs, that would give us 2 ones, 3 twos, and an extra .3 rd. That would be 8 in the top 100 plus extra picks next year. We could still get a WR and Edge in the top 15. In the second a center, OL and 3T. A QB prospect and S? The possibilities are endless. Plus 3 1s and 3 2s next year. Sign Allen for one more year and have a 2 year window to make a SB run. With all the extra picks you can let the big contracts expire and keep drafting for the future. Top 5 defense WR: DJ Moore- K Allen- MHJ or Odunzue. TE : Kmet, Everett, RBs: Swift, Herbert, Johnson. An improved OL. Justin can make a pro bowl with that lineup.

That was Greg Gabriel.
