  1. I agree odds if us getting him are slim.
  2. On paper the acquisitions are impressive. The fist hires they made were being as rookie GM and Coach. Now they are systemically putting a plus group of coaches together. That tells us this is a good situation to come to and that Flus is obviously not a lame duck coach. With the new OL hire does that mean Arron Brewer might be considered as a new center?
  3. Just heard a glowing report on Jackson Powers-Johnson by a former scout from Ourlads draft site. He said he's the best OL at the senior bowl. Has great size and experience. On GB draft report he is ranked. # 55. Could he be a second round pick if we get one by way of trade.
  4. PFF idea of being linked to Bears is their opinion on a free agent being picked up by the Bears because they have a need. I do like the idea of Samuel. His best year was 77-851-3, he has 4.31 speed. Mooney best year was 81-1055-4 and has 4.38 speed. If you bring him back, he won't be expensive where any of somewhat successful free agents will be. Marquees Brown has had better years than Samuel with better speed, 4.27. He will cost around the same as Samuel, we should consider him.
  5. The other option in that scenario is to sit him for a year, Fields contract expires , if he balls out, you tag him if you want or you have the Mahomes-Smith situation. You could tag him and still trade him for compensation. Plus Justin always misses a few games, you can see what you have. He missed 4 games this year Sitting for a year has worked out for many teams. KC, GB, Jalen Hurts only started 4 games his first year because of injury.
  6. When someone said you only think in absolutes, they weren't wrong.
  7. Who is the next Tank Dell, pick 66 and Puma Nacua, pick 177? Every draft has them type of finds.
  8. The point I made ( it's not the same old Bears) that you claim because he stuck with Flus and may keep Fields, that that is mediocrity. He will make the best choice for the future and it might be picks and Justin. I think we win with either choice but you don't allow that that is possible unless we draft a high pick QB. So if he gets rid of Fields and drafts Williams then it fails? Your answer to that? If Justin plays well somewhere else? Neither of us know how it turns out , I am allowing all options to work out.
  9. Since Poles took over, he's not grouped in the past, he clearly has a different vision than past regimes. It may end up having the same results but not taking the same path. The last regime had an offensive coach, a top 2 picked QB and we only got one good year out of it. Now many fans want to do the same thing that got everyone fired, new coach, new QB ( top pick). BUT now everyone says repeating the past will have new results and claim it's different. What's different is Poles sticking with a coach he thinks will be successful and ( maybe) allowing a QB to fully develop instead repeatedly continuing the cycle of our past. I'll trust him to make the right decisions whether it's Williams or Fields, or a surprise pick. Poles fixed the cap hell and draft assets in 2 years and now people say he doesn't know what he's doing because he doesn't do what they want. I'm not one of them. He will do the right choice.
  10. If it's obvious to the rest of the league, how are we going to get a great trade offer? I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, I'm suggesting that Poles may not have your opinion and values a bunch of draft capital And roll one more year with Justin. Also could draft a QB prospect.
  11. Everything you stated is true but Poles is not building a team to just be competitive. No one thinks that way. He's doing things his way and it may not follow your plans
  12. Your whole argument is based on Fields isn't good and can't get better. Poles may not have your opinion on Fields. He knows he still has to be a better passer but he may think with a better play caller and better weapons he can do that. He may think if his level is 10 th best QB in the league that he can win a SB with him. Several people have won SBs with non tier 1 QBs. SF may do that this year. He knows Mahomes type QBs are extremely rare. Andrew Luck, Joe Burrows, no one have proven to be that since Mahomes got drafted.
  13. You stated that Poles already knew what he is going to do. I believe there is signs that learn towards that being true. Evaluation of this years QBs was done last year and throughout the season. Yes there's more information to obtain but the bulk of the process is tape. I think he knows who he likes and whether he is drafting a QB with the first pick. As I stated before, it's not Field's against Williams, the boat load of picks have to be figured in too. He may like Maye or Daniels , we just don't know. His strategy maybe trade back in the top 10 and grab McCarthy and still get a bunch of picks. There's a building process for the next few years with having 2= 1 st round picks for several years to come. I think he wants to build the team and worry about the QB next year and run with Fields. If Williams is the dude, he will take him. We will see.
  14. There could be several good QBs in this draft but only one generational QB, Williams. If he ain't that guy the whole narrative changes on who to take or boat load of picks. Poles said he needed to be blown away, maybe someone is that. That's what the process is for.
  15. This all you need to see to know about the future of the Bears.
  16. With the top pick 25/75 With a different pick90/10
  17. Is Malachi Corley playing in the Bowl? He's supposed to be a Deebo Samuel clone. Wouldn't that be a nice slot WR.
  18. Ian Cunningham doesn't seem to be leaving either.
  19. If that's the case, who do you trust to be accurate?
  20. I think he's going in the second round, according to many of the so called experts.
  21. The Bears hired Chris Beaty as their WR coach, he was DJ Moore's college coach.
  22. Yesterday, I looked at every interview and read everything Poles have said. I get a huge impression he's going for the big haul on trading the first pick and running back with Fields. A few days ago , the Bears put out a team promotion video that was all Justin Fields. Does a team do that if they getting rid of him? Fields next 3 years of cost, 2024=6 mil, 2025=22 mil, 2026 franchise tag 32.4 mil as of now. That's 3 years of an average 20 mil a year. (The first pick in the draft will earn a 38 mil contract for 4 years, that rookie contract is guaranteed money) Fields contract would be 20 th on QB contracts list right now. Last time I looked that's cheap for a starting QB in the NFL these days. Money won't come into play if they keep Fields.
  23. Stats are nice to look at, PFF is all about stats and no one on here trusts them. It's just one tool to measure with.
  24. I meant free agents not our own free agents. I would transition tag JJ, 18.4 mil Resign Mooney on a 3 mil contract, you can always cut him later Sign AJ Espensa, DE from Buffalo that had 6 sacks in 1/3 of the snaps and played under Washington. 10 mil Sign Evan Brown/ OC, played under Waldron jn Seattle. 6 mil Sign Christian Wilkins/DT, Miami is in cap hell OTC has his value at 15 mil. Draft a center and pass rusher, WR and TE.
