I seen a couple of scout services that had him ranked late 2 nd round as a grade. He's light at 24o only one year of production. He's considered a project with high ceiling. Poles moved to the draft at that moment because they expected him to get picked.

That's what happens when you wake up in the middle of the night to look at the draft. ( brain dead)

2024 draft 1) Caleb Williams 1b) Rome Odunze 2) Monteze Sweat 4) Keenan Allen 4b) Tory Taylor 5) Ryan Bates. I'm not complaining.

If he's all pro in two years, are we still complaining?

Tory Taylor, P, Iowa selected at #122
Finally Poles gives us a WTF moment but with only 4 picks, can't expect magic. I would think they could have traded back and still took him. He waa rated to go in the fifth round but we don't have a fifth rounder.

With only 4 picks, he took 4 players he wanted. Now I can go back to bed 12 hours different here.

Where did you get your list? The three I look at had Mo Kamara rated higher than everyone but Dorlus. If he can trade back and get one of those centers and Kamara, I would be a happy camper.
-
Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale, Pick #75
He is the clone to Braxton, physical specimen from a small school. Rated higher than Braxton with more upside. If Braxton doesn't keep progressing, we have a replacement in the wings. All the good teams have depth on the OL we are now starting to build that.

Draft ALL OFFENSE
Still left worth drafting Mo Kamara. /He had 50 pressures and 13 sacks last year. 4.57 Brandon Dorlus Myles Cole Brennan Jackson/ 12.5 TFL 8.5 sacks 4.69 team captain Austin Booker Javon Solomon /16 sacks last year Gabriel Murphy/ 8 sacks 12 TFL 4.68 Kamara is the dude to get.

Keep in mind we brought in a DL guru that may get more out of our existing roster. I expect Dexter and Pickens to be improved. Billings and he brought in Cowart right away so he must see some potential from him. Walker plays inside also. On the outside you have Sweat and Walker plus Jacob Martin, Daniel Hardy, Khalid Kareem. With Dom Robinson, maybe Eric Washington can get one to be viable. He will bring another one in. All is not lost.

Poles has a plan if he doesn't get help in the DL, he will bring in a vet. There will be a round of cuts to choose from. Do not underestimate players on the team getting better. I was curious when he said players are going to have a hard time making this roster. To me that means he likes some backups we aren't thinking about.

They filled a need , swing T. He has traits, Braxton started as a rookie. Maybe that happens again. I'm listening to CHGO podcast and they praise Poles then they complain that he didn't take who they wanted. Poles took Kiran because he won't make it to 122. Trust in Poles.
-
Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale, Pick #75
He needs some time but potential to push him for a job in 2025. OL depth is a good thing. Wait and see , Poles will trade back at 122 and still grab a OC and DE.

Rome Odunze, WR, WAS, selected #9 overall
If we end up being successful, he may want to stay to win a SB and we can get a team friendly deal. Plus his a he could be counter productive on getting a big contract.

Rome Odunze, WR, WAS, selected #9 overall
We're going to find out.
-
Butkus/Sayers Draft ~> Williams/Odunze Draft
I think any or all of the first 3 WRs can be all pro types.
-
Draft Day
,We can still get 2 contributors at 75 and 122. Lots of names on the board yet. He's going to take BPA at several positions. If they stick to offensive players, we could get a swing T and Center prospect or OG. 75 Kiran Amedgadjie/OT and 122 Tanor Bortillini/ OC 75 Van Pran/OC and 122 Zac Zinter/OG

Rome Odunze, WR, WAS, selected #9 overall
Look at all the ego trippers in the WR group of the league and we got 3 down to earth leader types at the same time in our WR room. People complained about not drafting George Pickens and look at the whining birch he has been. That's why we didn't draft him.

Rome Odunze, WR, WAS, selected #9 overall
This was all planned out, obviously you can't predict the picks but they wanted this. Just seen a video of Rome and he stated, him, DJ, Keenan and CW have already been working out together. That wasn't by accident. His big hero was Devin Hester growing up and his first NFL jersey was 54 Urlacher. This is a perfect fit.

Here is GB draft reports updated big board. A lot of good names still there. We are 43 picks away. https://gbnreport.com/2024-updated-big-board/

Rome Odunze, WR, WAS, selected #9 overall
5 different players had a case for being pick 9 . There was no bad choice.

Me too, everyone board is different. Who knew Panic would be picked top 10.
-

There was no bad choice, this tells me , they will keep Allen for only the one year and use that money somewhere else. Poles has to have a plan for an edge rusher. Maybe someone he likes will be available at 75.

How excited are you getting?
Im not here making a choice of Caleb or Justin, that argument has passed. Caleb is here and Justin is gone. I just dont understand why you have a problem with me wishing a good outcome for a good dude? You may be right but the outcome of whether he improves or is trash is still open. I think he proves himself, it's an opinion. At this point, he hasn't improved enough to keep his job in Chicago, so some of your pessimism exists. It will be easier to have this conversation one year from now.

Caleb Williams, QB, USC selected #1 overall
It starts now with a potential top 5 QB, no turning back.
