Week 14 Official Game Thread - DET @ CHI, SUN, 12/10, Noon, CHI +3, O/U 42

If i remember doesnt Goff play bad in cold weather? just saying, he's not at home and it will be cold. -
I've been saying that for some time. Hedge your bet on Fields and also develop a QB in the process. I think that is the best situation for us to win going forward. Fields is smart and has a great attitude , no way his ego is crushed if you bring in another QB to compete. It may help him to become a better QB.

Jake Browning had a great game. Went undrafted in 2019. This year is his first year on a roster. A player that worked hard and got better . QBs can be found other than the first round. Also giving time to grow can play at a high level . These are reasons you stick with a player and also don't use a #1 pick on a draft. This year we can go with Justin one more year and also draft a prospect. Hell Bagent may be that surprise player in a few years. Never count out players that work hard and have a desire to be great. The more shots you have a shot at the brass ring , the better the chance you get a winner. IMO Anyone that likes Browning , he is a FA this year, he would probably love a team that has questions at QB, where he does have the chance to start. That's not in Cincinnati .

Seen this on X, what an idiot.
-
Lawrence now hurt, 7 starters out for the year, Trevor doesnt look good. I think we need to have another QB in the wings with a rookie draftee plus Fields and throw in Bagent. Never enough QBs.
-
I think our best option is what you suggest, if Fields fails ,you have his replacement in waiting. You always trade one or the other depending on success in 2024 or 25.
-
I forgot about Sanders , I think Williams has the highest ceiling but also the highest bust rate. Intangibles matter, would rather take a risk on a lower talent than have a first pick bust.
-
First, I wouldn't pay Young, to much of a injury risk plus don't think Poles ties that much money in DL. More so to draft one.
-
QBs ( after the first 2 ) could go in any order. It just depends on the team. Someone choose Young over Stroud, someone choose Wilson, Lance over Fields, its amazing how GMs view prospects and fail. My order of preference is Daniels, Maye, McCarthy, Penix and Nix, in that order.

The no call pass interference at the end of the game was fireable. 35 was dancing with Chiefs WR.

Ross Tucker was on the SCORE this morning and he made a lot of sense. What you do in the past counts but people go by your last impressions that gets their attention. If Fields plays well 3 or 4 games ,he thinks he probably stays and if Flus wins 4 or 5 games, he probably stays. He personally thinks Fields is back with a new coach. We are a( what have you done for me lately) society.

It's a crap shoot with QBs if you go by recent history. Penix would be a good prospect but probably not a first round pick. If we trade back and get a 2nd round pick in return maybe a QB they consider. I still think the double down on QBs is our best option for success. I think Maye, Williams, Daniels and McCarthy are the first round picks. Nix, Ewers, and Penix are the wild cards. Late first or early second. We could take a prospect there.

The problem with officials. cheating can be offset by the review booth and other officials on the field. That would be difficult. I think it's just incompetent refs.
-
I think if we trade out of our first pick, Bowers pick comes into play. With 2 TE sets that's only 2 WRs on the field but would be a nightmare to defend. At the top of the draft 2 Qbs, 2 LTs and MHJ. After that Bowers is the most likely choice. I think Braxton Jones is playing well enough to not take a OT. Edge or 3 T come into play if we drop back in the top 10 picks.

Next week will be key. Arguably the best team we play and then it's one game at a time. It's strange that we could even be talking about this after a 0-4 start. If we finish 8-9 or 9-8, the whole narrative about changing coaches and QB will change. That would mean both did something special.
-
I've heard that saying before, my dad came from Croatia . You're not Slavic are you?
-
If we end up with 8 or 9 wins, that is quite a turn around for a 0-4 start. I know that's dreaming but nobody we play are world beaters.
-
Adam, if we win out, are we out of the top 10 picks?
-
LaPorta was 3-18 the week we played them, no problem.
-
We finally made it. if its one in a million, I'm all there.

I would like think that hug means something but it doesn't. He will do what's best for the Bears, but it may be to bring him back.

What I find is its amazing how you have argued for both sides of Justin Fields and have made compelling arguments . Im not sure how you feel? You are probably right on Poles have already made a decision on his future but dont think the coaches are all in on a decision thru poor coaching. I hope for us to win and Justin to do well but know he is flawed. For me I have seen progress but it may not be enough to stay here. On saying that I worry that they pick the Bryce Young and not Stroud when he makes that decision. I think the progress of Justin may be more valuable for wins next year than a raw rookie. Poles needs to win next year and starting over may not achieve that. What ever way he goes will determine him getting fired or a contract extension, I am glad I don't have to to make that decision , I'm wrong a lot.

What a coincidence , I was thinking the same thing. All of this started when I posted a Tim Lewis video about him praising Justin on an analyze of one of his games. you have for along time let everyone know you dont like Fields so I mentioned you probably wouldnt like the video. Then you blow up on the thought I attacked your fandom. That's when the the loser, ignorant, blind statements started flying. You have literally called Justin a turd , terrible on so many occasions I lost count. You can post all of these deep evaluations of his play all you want but I will support him as long as he is our QB. Several times I have mentioned how bad he played and if he doesnt improve I will be out on him but you say Im this ignorant Kool-Aid drinking fan that worships him. I have no problem with your opinion but your constant attacks and name calling doesnt sit very well. If anyone else on here disagrees with you and you say you have no problem with different opinions as you try to convince everyone that your opinion are so righteous. I want us to win and Justin to succeed, I get he isnt perfect and has issues but all your comments are anti Fields. Then you posting( you want the team to lose) lost me on trying to have a conversation with you. I asked you to lets just stop responding to each other and of course you ignore me. Not you want to kick my ass. You are one hosed up dude, I ask you again to let's stop . We dont like each other I can live with that so stop with your attacks. I have disagreements with other people on here , no one goes to name callings and loses their mind because I say favorable things about Justin.
