LOL no, you just seemed to say something that wasnt correct, and when I point it out, you say it's because I am all against Justin and all for Caleb. You said I "dont allow" other opinions. Nah bro, Im just saying youre wrong. That's my opinion.

When youre wrong its not because someone sees things in absolutes, or anything like that - youre just wrong.

The problem here isnt in my way of viewing things, it's that youve digested a false media narrative that i just proved wasnt true with facts on tape. Watch it and then tell me Caleb cant play in structure and tempo.

I cant figure why you put words in my mouth all the time. I never said (he cant play in structure and tempo), I pointed out last year there were plays he held the ball to long and needs to improve in that area. That's the absolute thing  Im  talking about , I make light of 60 plays and you project that I mean he does it all the time.

Its just my opinion from observing your posts. Its subjective. You push back on anyone that puts a negative light on Caleb. Example: Caleb holds the ball to long 60 plays of over 6 seconds and your comeback is (its bullshit) and sight a video that shows him making a 100 on time throws. Those were nice but both happen to be true.

yeah youre both right - it will probably take more than just a straight swap. Last year we paid a 2nd alone for Sweat. Given Hendrickson's age, I'd say he is worth a 3rd. Herbert is probably worth a 4th, so the trade youre proposing adam, seems about right, and it's an easy yes.

If we get Hendrickson then this team is absolutely playoff bound, even with some rookie growing pains for the QB.

Playoff bound? SB contenders . You're not excited enough.

So apparently the Bengals are calling asking about Khalil Herbert in trade. They need a RB, having just lost Dixon.

At the same time, Trey Hendrickson, their best edge rusher has asked for a trade. He had 17.5 sacks last year and has two years remaining on his deal.

    Hmmmm.

I would laugh at that before but Poles is going for it this year. Troy makes 21 mil and wants a new contract. The money starts at 25+ mil a yr.

    seriously.

There's a joke. I dunno if i've told it on here before, but it goes like this:

The other day I was at my friends house. He's a Packers fan and we were watching the Bears Packers game together. The Packers won and all of a sudden his dog starts doing these amazing acrobatics and back flips.

And I say "wow! look at your dog doing all those back flips - what's that about?"

and my friend says "well every time the Packers beat the Bears, my dog does all these flips and acrobatics"

so I asked "what does he do when the Bears win?"

And my friend said "I dunno, I've only had him for 10 years"

    We need revenge.

    a sad  joke

nah, its got nothing to do with a character flaw on my part LOL thats an old gambit thats WAY played out here. My opinion and what I see on film is not some attitude problem with me. It's just the truth.

Fields held the ball too long routinely. He was indecisive. He had a problem pulling the trigger on open receivers, and it wasnt because he was big play hunting.

Caleb was big play hunting - VERY different, and there are over 100 examples of him getting the ball out in rhythm in that video I just posted.

So it's not at all the same thing. Caleb can play in structure and tempo and proves it routinely. Fields didnt.

So yeah, there are lots of things Caleb has to grow on - like holding the ball dangerously away from his body, and taking what the defense gives you.,

But he is not indecisive or afraid to pull the trigger. Watch the film I posted, there are 100 examples.

The comments was not an attack on you, it was pointing out you seem to look at things in absolutes. Fields was bad so everything you said focused on the negstive and now with Caleb you seem protective of him.

example: he can be  still be great and  still held the ball to long numberous times. Its not calling him trash.

I hate being overly optimistic, but man it is hard to see anything less than 4,200 passing yards.

    This is 4,400: Moore - 1,000, Allen - 900, Odunze - 700, Kmet - 600, Everett - 400, Swift - 300, Scott - 200, All Others - 300 (Herbert and Roschon had over 300 last year).

That is also 364 fewer yards for Moore, 343 fewer for Allen, 119 fewer for Kmet, and then normal projections for the others. No crazy numbers and no career highs.

I think those are very realistic numbers. If you cant be optimistic this year you dont have it in you to do so. I get next year is the p[rojection, but Poles is going for it now. I was just reading where Yannick stayed in Chicago and was rehabing at Hallas Hall. He didnt perform well last year but got better when Sweat got here. I figure Poles gives him an incentive ladened contract. Like 6 mil and 5 mil as incentives.

With him, Sweat, Booker and Walker it will be higher sack numbers. The DL coach is sup[posed to be a Guru type, who knows how he he make make everyone better.

I try my best to separate everything. No player is perfect, and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Caleb does hold onto the ball longer than other QBs, Caleb does try to play hero ball more than others, and he doesn't take the checkdown sometimes and tries to make a higher danger throw. The good thing is, those are correctable and we are not in Year 4 with the same issues.

The thing about this year is, compared to Fields rookie year when there were zero expectations, Williams better put up some numbers because he is in one of the best situations a QB has ever been in. This also may be the best situation he is ever in because if they lose Allen after this season, they may not replace him with someone as good as him. If they let Jenkins go, a rookie or replacement may not be as good as him. So as much as we can give Williams a pass on some things because he is a rookie, he is not going to get a lot of forgiveness given the situation he is currently in.

We also should expect Williams to get better, which is the exciting part for me. If he is good as a rookie but improves, we really do have our franchise QB and all long-time Bears fans can finally sit back and enjoy the ride.

I will do my best to not even mention Fields anymore because it does matter what he did or does, same as Trubisky.

I wasnt refering to you when I said that but , I think he has the best season ever for a rookie, and yes those are correctable traits.

  9. I seen a podcast that said Booker was 252 lbs at his pro day. he lost weight to try get faster times at the combine. Also seen where his pro comparision was Maxx Crosby. Maxx is 6'5"  256, Booker is 6' 4 1/2" 252.  Crosbys first year he had 10 sacks, that would be nice if we get some millage out of Booker in  his first year.

    thats what I see too.

Plus, holding the ball because you are big play hunting because your defense is awful and you need to be scoring 40 to win, is a different kind of "holds the ball too long" than being indecisive and gun shy. And Caleb is not either of those things.

You go from ( you cant say anything nice about Justin mode) to you're not allowed to say anything negative about Caleb mode) people break down Caleb and he's not perfect. It doesnt matter why you hold the ball to long but holding the ball to long is a negative. Unlike you I'm not trashing Caleb because of it, just pointing out he still has some developing to do. Im all in on him but  he is not yet walking on water, because  a poor OL and bad WR options contributed to that just like many other QBs that are put in that postion.

Mahomes holds the ball to long a lot and he is the best QB in the league.

  11. Bagent looked good getting ball out because Gretsy kept it simple with his play calling, step and throw. He only had 3 completions over 20 yards on 93 completions. Here is a throw chart  in the Raiders game. Its easy to make throws when 90% are under 5 yards. This is where the plays ended so YAC has to be figured in.  I think he is capable of more but wasnt ask to do it in his playing time.

Nicholas Moreano on X: "Here is Tyson Bagent's passing chart ...

  12. I've been traveling so dont know if someone mentioned it but Poles was getting nervous with Rome getting picked was going to try to move up to get him. Ian told him to be patient and we got him. He clearly liked Rome because of his character. Poles envisions Caleb and Rome leading the offense and Brisker and Sweat leading the defense with their leadership and work ethic. We have several other leaders on this team that could make this a special team.

  13. Last year the top 4 offenses had over 4000 passing and over 2200 yards rushing.  We had 2399 rushing and 3421 passing. Caleb and our WRs will make up 600 passing yards.

    Anyone think that is unrealistic?

We will have more offensive plays this year because of a more successful offense. I think Waldron runs a balanced offense theory . In 2022, 573 passing plays and 425 rushing plays.  4282 passing yards and 2042 rushubg yards.

    In 2023 passing 575 4167 and rushing 382 1580.

They finished 9-8 both seasons. We have more talent than the Seahawks had, it is a no brainer that we win more games.

  14. His arm talent is exceptional, but last year his decision making took a hit. When you hold the ball for 60 plays over 6 seconds, thats poor decision making. Because of the lack of talent around him, he held the ball to long trying to make home run plays instead of taking what the defense gave him. 2022 he was king for his decision making, Heisman Trophy. Its great to see him shine on his play, but when he makes mistakes, that counts to. That contributed to his fumbles also.

His success this year will be based on how well he accepts coaching, no coach is telling you to hold the ball for more than 4 seconds.

I am rooting for Jenkins to have a healthy (contract) season and the Bears find a way to keep him, that will help keep the gel and nasty. The 2025 draft will be the icing especially if our needs line up.

If Kiwan Amegadjie ends up winning the LT job, heard them talk about moving Braxton inside or vice versa. If Jenkins deals with any injuries again this year, I dont see them signing him back.

I hope you are joking.  Andre James, Lloyd Cushenberry, Aaron Brewer and Tyler Biadaz all could have been had in free agency.

Cushenberry would have been nice but he got a 50 mil contract. Of those 4 Brewer was supposedly the least talented and he got 3 years at 21 mil. You will have to ask Poles how he rated them, they all got signed before the draft so I'm not sure if he may wanted to get a drafted center.
