  1. He's not going to be a record setting QB by NFL standards but will reset all the Bears records. I have no doubt.
  2. I've been watching a lot of podcasts talking about the future of the Bears. I watched an interview with the Florida line coach on CHGO. His opinions have raised my level of trust in Dexter going forward. Huge man , good movement, great work ethic. The scheme at Florida was a read and move which affected his production. Plus, they had a lack of depth where he virtually had to play every snap on defense. He wore down as the game went forward. He was playing 55-60 plays a game. In the NFL he will be expected to play 40 in rotation. Has to get in better shape and more strength and he will be a beast. His metrics mirror Cris Jones as a prospect. If he is 85% of Cris Jones, Poles nailed it. Also lots of football experts (self called) think Fields will have a break out year compared to Josh Allen's 3 year. 16 572 396 69.2 4544 7.9 55 37 10 If Fields goes 4000 yds, 30 TDs and 10 ints, we will be making the playoffs. Buffalo has always been a good running team and still was able to get Allen reps passing. I think this years offense can contribute the same kind of production. Their offense took off when they acquired Stephon Diggs. We now have D J Moore. Not as good as Diggs but our other WRs are better than what Buffalo had. Have yet to see the production but I think our OL has become a strength instead of our worst position group. We have upgraded 4 positions. Jones will play better, he has been working on improving his strength. Jenkins moves to LG which will yield better play than Whitehair did last year. Whitehair moves to OC that improves Mustifers play by leaps and bounds. Davis is the best player on the line. Wright will be a plug and play and will greatly be better than Reiff gave us. We were the best running team in the league last year and I think this RB room is much better. I think Foreman will start and be a stud , I think Johnson pushes Herbert for more playing time because he is a more complete player. I think because of Johnson's talent, he will move Homer off the roster. Although Homer is a stud ST player which may keep him on the roster. We now have more depth at TE. Last year a lot of our ragged play was due to having poor depth players taking to many snaps. We will not have that problem this year.
  3. He got in a couple of games when Jenkins was having some health issues at RG. He was pretty raw when first signed. I think he will stay as a backup but if he is developing, I can see him getting some more reps at OC.

    5 WR set

Seen a ranking for WRs groups in the NFL , by Mike Clay (have no idea who he is) He ranked us 16th , top 5 WRs Its pretty realistic but I think there are several in front of us that we will be better than.

    UDFAs

My predictions: remember the practice squad is part of the regular season roster. Tyson Bagent/ QB Stephen Carlson/TE Gabriel Houy/ OL Thyrick Pitts/WR D'Anthony Jones/ edge.

    UDFAs

Last year 5 UDFAs has 5 that are still on our roster. Sanborn clearly stuck out. Waylon Jones has potential. Who sticks from this years group? Pick 5.
  7. Poles keeps throwing darts at the board, some will surprise us like Jack Sanborn and most will fade away. This is way GMs build the roster over a period of time. If we can get a few roster spots filled from UDFAs that's a win. 5 from 2022 are still on the roster with Sanborn was the prize. Jaylon Jones, Jack Tonges, and A J Thomas got reps last year.
  8. We also need to remember that Dieter Eiselen has had reps at OC. He keeps being kept on the roster. At 6'4" 320 bigger than most OCs in the league. Maybe they groomed him to eventually take over at OC. Next year as Whitehair and Patrick leave, Kramer may fall into that role but Eiselen keeps hanging around. They will draft one and have a competition at the spot.
  9. This verifies that PFF is just something to use for comparison and isnt what it projects to be. The highest graded PFF edge didnt get drafted. Literally had to have a tryout, was not a first tier signed UDFA. Now he may turn out to be a big sleeper but you cant put a lot of stock in PFF.
  10. Actually he said PFF had the highest grade as a pass rusher. He has an optimistic view on everything bears. Don't mind that at all.
  11. We signed an UDFA to the roster that tried out. DeAnglo Jones from Houston.
  12. I thought Cody Mauch would have been a good get but he went to high. Otherwise they brought in Stromberg from Arkansas. They clearly only saw Tippmann, JMS and Stromberg as up grades, so they didn't draft one. Wypler got a lot of attention but clearly the NFL didn't view him the same as so called draft experts.
  13. They will pick up a vet, right now it's those two and Keller Diesch. Swing tackle will be a very important add.
  14. Every team gets to have a free roster spot for having an African born prospect on their team. It's some kind of NFL program . Actually we have Eisien, he was born in South Africa.
  15. Actually Fields has been spending time with Claypool and Moore. I think the only targets he needs to adjust to is Tonyan and Scott. Also Velus got in the group practice also. I think the transition is smoother than we imagine. They are all on the same page and work to be successful. They hit the ground running. The nice thing is the running game will allow the passing to progress easier. Top 5 running game and top 10 passing offense. 30 points a game? Am I to optimistic?
  16. For me, UDFAs are just about finding one or two players that surprise you. (Jack Sanborn), hard to say who when you never paid much attention to these players. Obviously the kicker Andre Szmyt Gabriel Houy/OL nasty attitude, lots of starts Thyrick Pitts/WR 6'3 203 4.37 speed. Tyson Bagent/QB highly successfull QB Getsy coached him in the senior bowl.
  17. I like everything you said. Pushing the players in front of him and high work ethic and motor. Probably a practice squad guy unless there are injuries. I watched some tape of him and he constantly got push and major effort but didnt stand out to me.
  18. He wasn't very good but you have to give him credit for starting all those games for an UDFA. Started at 303 and worked his way to 330.
  19. Last years 7 th rounder actually got playing time, Elijah Hicks. The difference with Bell is we supposedly drafted 2 3 Ts already and Poles gushed over Bell. Seems a little odd but he must expect to have him to contribute at some point in time. I think Poles likes finding sleepers. ( Braxton Jones). A 7 th rounder always has to contribute on STs. It will be interesting to see what he turns into.
  20. Travis Bell is a virtual unknown to most of the football community. Poles drafted Bell on the premise that no one else could take him. He speaks highly of him for the same reason he drafted Pickens and Dexter, he likes his traits. (size is ignored) No reason to think he will even make the 53 man roster but Poles has reasons for drafting him and am very curious to see him play. I believe he didnt draft AA because he had a similar player he could get at the end of the draft. Cant wait to see if he is any good. another late round gem? Maybe so , he hit on Braxton Jones with the same kind of faith.
  21. He rebuilt the WR room with two trades, Claypool and Moore. Then drafted a WR. Scott. Great job considering FAgency and the draft were not rated real high this season. I like the process Poles has done to rebuilding the roster. Being patient and this year attacked the WR room and LB room. Drafted DTs when most of the edge rushers were gone. Rebuilt the OL with Davis and drafting Wright. He moved Whitehair to OC that literally improved 3 positions. Jones and Jenkins are promising young players.
  22. They also had a S and an OG signed from the tryouts. Bralen Trahan/S and Josh Lugg/OG.
  23. I seen someone mention Melvin Ingram for our pass rush help in FA. He had 494 snaps. 6 sacks, 23 pressures. I suspect would come cheap. I dont think Poles ends up adding a big name for edge help. So this seems like a likely choice. DeMaucus Walker might be underrated by fans. 404 snaps, 32 Ts, 7 sacks, 10 TFL, 16 qb hits. 32 qb pressures. Some people are wanting some bigger named edge rushers that had worst stats. Frank Clark 717 snaps, 39 ts, 5 sacks, 8 tfl, 13 qb hits, 24 qb pressures.
  24. Almost every player has some flaws , where they get drafted speaks to how much coaching can eliminate the flaws. I dont think Tippmann is a day one starter but will be a good player in this league. I just think with so many young players on the OL , Poles fells better about having a vet at OC to go along with Davis for vet leadership. Poles thinks Dexter can become Chris Jones or Buckner. A huge man that moves well. Have been reading a lot about Dexter because I didnt like the pick. But one guy broke down the DL of the Florida team and all the DL had more of a set and hold approach over firing off the ball . His production was attributed to not being used right more than having a slow fire off the ball. For me, so far I trust Poles, if he thinks Dexter and Pickens can become good 3 Ts , Im all in until proven different. I read a lot of tweets about Dexter in his first practice and most everyone said he appeared quick off the ball. Time will tell what he turns into.
  25. Skor will be a quality player but will end up a OG. Poles likes what he likes, and we will have to see how it turns out. Skor was picked 11th, many experts rate him the best OL in the draft. I think he excels .
