  1. We could trade back and still get a top 5 pick. Lovie must still be a bears fan.
  2. Woke up to Houston, 4th and 20, was about to be bummed out. Not now. Not sure I can go back to sleep. 13 hours difference in Thailand. I hate when we lose, it normally bums me out for the day but this year is different. We won the lottery. Can't be upset about that.
  3. I did one mock where I had 4 trade backs and ended up with pick 20 and 8 top 102 picks. Drafted JS-N/WR and Darrel Wright/RT. Siaki Ika/DT, Dalton Kincaid/TE, Andre Carter ll/DE, Devon Achane/RB, Luke Wypler/OC, Tuli Tuipulotu/DT.
  4. He will surprise us, we can count on that. Here's a perfect draft in my opinion with no trades. ( used PNF simulator) Will Anderson/ DE. Best edge player in draft Cedric Tillman/WR big WR with 4.4 speed Jaclyn Duncan/OT athletic T that can play either side Mazi Smith/DT big productive NT Tuli Tuiplotu/DT stud DT 12 sacks this year Chase Brown/RB 3 down back Luke Margrave/TE speed 4.57 Keion White/DE stud win 44 pressures and 7 sacks this year.
  5. With all the projections of the draft , it will be entirely be dependent on FAgency acquisitions. If he brings in McGary/RT and DeRon Panye/DT it will change our draft strategy. Both are good young players that will eliminate a Skoronski or Cater pick at the top of the draft. I think he brings in an IOL and that won't be with the first pick.
  6. Poles wasn't going to extend anyone until he seen them up close and personal. With the glut of RBs this year, he knows that's his advantage, why extend him. The history in KC was new RBs all the time, so he may look for a better fit for his offense. I suspect Flus will have a lot of input into the decision. Things you don't see in stats, work ethic, team leader, toughness. Those intangibles defines Monty. If you're trying to build a culture, he fits in. They had a great 1-2 punch with Monty and Herbert, maybe still leading the league? There both young, look north for the answer, Dillion and Jonea, that's the offense we've running.
  7. That is cool , I never seen that before in the simulations I have done.
  8. Agree and agree. If Payne gets franchised, Swifty did a good analysis of DTs on U Tube. He suggested Dre'Mont Jones as the next one up. Never paid attention to him before but Denver has cap problems with Wilson's big contract, may be more doable.
  9. My tablet keeps wanting to say Deion instead of K. Poles and Cunningham only went to 3 live college games, he had to target those players. Keion is 6-5 286 with big hands and long arms. He's got 40 pressures, 4 QB hits and 7 sacks . I see Poles drafting him with pick 101 with his 4.69 speed. The combine will make more teams notice him.
  10. I look at all of Swiftys stuff. I like his positive attitude towards the Bears.
  11. I get it but , I try to project what I think Poles is going to do. I think he adds a OT high but an IOL will not be until later. I doubt he will constantly be doing a new draft every year and discard his picks from the year before. B Jones will be given another year to see if he is the answer. We have yet to J Carter and E Kramer play . He will draft a OT that play RT but could slide to LT if Jones fails. If Paris Johnson is the BPA on his board at time of pick he will take him but he ain't reaching for anyone with his first few picks.
  12. PFF mocks aren't realistic, they have Tillman available at 137? He ain't getting out of the second round. I've been mocking on PFN, they screw up to thou , they have T Tuipulotu down around 110 ranking. If you noticed missed words on my posts, I'm on my tablet now and its always Auto correcting any words its not familiar with. I don't always proof read.
  13. On October 20th he went and watched Virginia play Georgia Tech. The only 2 players I found on any player list was DevontaYion Wicks/WR and Deion White /edge rusher. Neither are rated very high but he personally went to their game with Cunningham. He thinks he kind identify talent . I hope he does well.
  14. If Poles first draft is any indication, he turned 6 picks into. 11. In this draft you have 2 of the first 3 are OL , don't see that happening. 1 WR, 1 DL and 1 OL. In what ever order. While he was in KC he brought in a 2 nd rounder and 6 th to now considered one of the better OLs in football. He thinks he can build a line that doesn't need all first rounders. B Jones is an example of that, he thinks he's the future LT. I don't see him drafting a LB in the 4 th either, he found Sanborn as a UDFA. Maybe he was lucky or maybe he's smart.
  15. What GM plans to just be mediocre? He has a plan, he never said after this second year , that he was done rebuilding. 3 things why I think he's the right man. 1) he wants to build a team thru the draft . Nobody thinks if he has two drafts that his job is done. Good GMs attack the draft every year. 2) he takes BPA instead of over drafting a WR last year because our WRS sucked. 3) He never going to reach for a FA with a bloated contract. ( overpay). Lets say he targets a DT like DeRon Payne, he will pay him but he's young and proven. He's only going to do one or two big contracts even thou we have a lot of money. He's going to be patient.
  16. Coming off historically one of our worst seasons, could be our best off season since I became a bears fan.
  17. So as he is building this roster, you're against winning along the way up? Poles has already stated he's not going to take on bloated contracts to try to get an extra win or two. If you go by what he did this year, it's a template for his regime. He will get one or two big signing and do what he did this year, short term deals with the ability to bail next year. People will complain he's not spending enough money because we have so much. That is why he's not bringing in Hopkins or Adams, those are bloated contracts that will be bad for a team the last couple of years. He will throw money at a young guy like DeRon Payne that will be 26 next year. Or trade for a Higgins or Jeury that are still young.
  18. I don't know for sure but I don't think there are any QBs to draft this year that has the same tools that Justin has.
  19. If you noticed the first year, there is only a couple contracts that he can't get out of cheaply.
  20. If you think you're smart, buyer beware, lots of smart people in this league, I'm not one of them. Of course if you like a challenge, you will get it here.
  21. Why not, he's a team player, as a 4 or 5, no problem.
  22. Didn't know where to put this but the Bears resigned ESB for next year , he was on a one year deal.
  23. Actually you're not alone in that assessment. Olin Kruetz mentioned him on his podcast. That he's to easily injured, in other words, doesn't play with injuries. Some players think they have to be100% to play, Olin said after week 4 every year, that never happens. I think he was saying he was mentally weak without out saying he was mentally weak. Plus his work ethic was questioned by the coaches early in the year, that's why he was shuffled around so much.
  24. Not sure of your opinion on Fields but that's not going to happen again while he's here.
  25. I understand where you're coming from, but Poles started his rebuild this year. I think he will go longer with B Jones because that is his signature piece. He said he knows OL building and what is a better way than to have a 5th rounder become your long term LT. Anyone he has brought in will get the next preseason to prove themselves, Leatherwood and Claypool, even Harry may be brought back. He can upgrade every position but he's not going to start a rebuild because everything didn't prove itself from day one. I think he brings in a couple vets to play OL because he doesn't have time to wait on all young guys to develop. Jenkins will be in his 3rd year and Jones his second, he's not going to draft 2 high picks to start in the OL. He's needs stability tis year. He may draft one guy to compete at RT but he still has Kramer and Patrick in the mix at OC. I think he brings in a FA OC because Patrick can play any IOL spot for depth. If he gets the chance to replace Whitehair, he may but I think J Carter was what he was thinking when he drafted him.
