  1. Most of the top rated LTs are first round picks but out of the top 10 rated there are 3 that were drafted 4th round, 4th round and 3rd round. Lane Johnson, David Bakhtiari and Terron Armstead. So it is not impossible to find a star in later picks. Time will tell if Jones ends up very good, but its a good start to his career. Poles is still a big question mark as far as being a good drafter but with Gordon, Brisker, Jones and Jones, Robinson, Ebner and Kramer, he looks like he will be good at it.
  2. They are filling spots where we have had some injuries. Graham and Karmara are down so we sign Covin and Harris. It looks like Roquan will not be immediately resolved so they bring in a LB, Gates. I like the constant search for other players because that process is where you find players like Akiem Hicks. I think one think that makes everyone better is the push from the coaches to constantly be hustling. They dont let players take players off which will translate into games that mean something. It sounds like AJAK is starting to buy in. Efus wont care if he was all pro 3 yrs ago, its what he is doing on the field right now.

No matter what the reason, he aint going to become a starter unless he's on the field.
  4. Very true but that isn't a take plays off scenario. Our offense will be more time dominated with a good running game.
  5. I think as far as Fields goes, they aren't going to load him up at the start . Emphasis the running game , scheme designed plays to get people open. Mix up his options and go downfield a few times a game. I think Mustifer starts at OC. As much as he played bad last year he keeps hanging around to start somewhere. I think when Patrick gets back, it may be at RG. I think the defense will be good and as the DBs get better end up being a top 10 unit. The only question will be against the run, who shines in that area. If I remember, wasn't Lovie's D , A bend don't break crew? With the speed at LB and the everybody to the ball mentality, it will be fine. it's will increase and win us a few more games that's not expected. The passing game will be fine with our TEs and RB potential. I heard Briggs say this morning, that they will be running out of 12 lineups a lot. 2 TEs . So with good blocking WRs, A fullback and 2 TEs , we should have a loaded running game.
  6. One other league has set September 5th in the evening.so that works for me.
  7. They had injuries . Those type of players don't take plays off. That's how they got so good. Max effort all the time. ( Mack and Hicks). The rest for sure.
  8. I view lots of bears journalist video and Joe Thomas name keeps popping up from several different persons. Obviously he's getting playing time from the Roquan situation, but he is being noticed. Also Q Muhammad has lots of compliments.
  9. I don't think anyone is saying he is good, I think he is like 15 other LTs starting in the league. Stays healthy and gets you by until you can upgrade. Washington has him starting so everyone is not on the same page of bad. If we got to watch other starting LTs in the league, the majority makes mistakes. Orlando Brown is rated high , last year 9 penalties and 4 sacks. Its about perspective.
  10. I was happy we drafted OL and was trying to change the line, but looking back, Leno started day one in Washington. got a descent rating. Last year he had one penalty and gave up 6 sacks out of 1121 snaps. Rieff had 4 sacks in 711 snaps last year. Leno is the definition of average but that is always better than bad. Last year Orlando Brown had 9 penalties 4 sacks out of 1121 snaps. Trent Williams had 7 penalties and 1 sack in 937 snaps.

He has to have asked for a trade, otherwise they would be making him go out and practice to try to correct his problems.
  12. Didnt he play in our game we played them last year? A lousy team had a chance to win that game.

No matter what the reason for this problem is , he aint winning a starting job sitting in the trainers room.

Thank God we're past the Pace Nagy era.
  15. We watch closely his mistakes while he was here but compared to the rest of the league, he was slightly over average. Everyone would have loved having him here last year.
  16. I can do any time, my only limitations will be the 3 other leagues I'm in. They are not see yet . One is usually the weds of the first week. One is usually on labor day.

If there butting heads, neither side probably wants it to be public. I heard its between the Oline coach and Jenkins. Every writer is speculating about it. The problem will be Tven is losing reps to secure him a starter job on the Oline. Jenkins tweeted out that every thing is good, dont believe the rumors you are hearing. So maybe it is something small like a sprained ankle.
  18. I am not sure if after 5 days of practice this is the first time you heard his name mentioned , that it means a lot. We will see.

Not sure we will ever hear the whole story. I suspect he wasnt working hard enough in the early camp and got moved to the second team. Coped an attitude because he wasnt moved to the starters when the real camp started. Someone suggested he may have just said trade me. I think he has talent but butting heads with new coaches probably is a bad idea. I would say a conditional 5th would be the best we could get for someone not proven.
  20. I just paid my fee. I think you should pick a date for drafting, before other leagues do. That way people can plan it. You can always change according to everyone's schedule.
  21. We added a lot of new players in the WR room. Also we Kmet and our RBs that will add to the passing game. If Jones becomes a playmaker and one other WR hits, I think we will have a successful offense. Mooney Kmet Montgomery, Herbert, Ebner. One of EQB-Pringle-Harry-Sharpe-Moore Jones is a wildcard but his ability to separate and speed will translate to the playing field. I think the upside is huge on this group.
  22. At this point, he will bring us a 4th or 5th round pick. Is that worth losing his sack potential ? I think Poles and Flus thinks this roster has upside so why would you throw away a player that upgrades everyone around him. Now if a team has an injury and we can land a package like for Miller did last yr (2nd and a 3rd) that would change the narrative. If backups shine and they want them on the field, they may value a trade but we already have a large cap space for next year. Everyone is ignoring the fact that good vet players can help teach the backups and provide leadership. We have Gipson, Robinson, Al-Q Muhammad, and Snowden that are all young players but still have a lot to prove. It doesnt make sense to trade him for a 4th rounder ?

He is my favorite OL. He cant get a starting job not being on the field. I have seen several people suggest he has covid. So hopefully he will shine once they start hitting and he gets on the field. This is his draft profile, the only thing holding him back is his battle with injuries, his arrow is still pointing up. Overview NFL-ready frame with broad chest and thick lower half. Jenkins not only plays with excellent upper-body power and hand strength, he combines it with a desired level of body control and athleticism to create a consistent, toolsy talent. His instincts and processing serve him well in quickly sifting through moving pieces. He can be an intolerant run blocker, looking to finish and bury his opponent once he gets his block locked and centered. Jenkins has good tackle tape, but his short arms and average range in pass sets could be something to keep an eye on. Whether it is at tackle or guard, Jenkins has the talent to become an early starter and a successful pro. Strengths Split low with wide frame, good power and excellent body control. Instinctive feel for positioning and quick to adjust his blocks when needed. Powerful core allows him to base up and flatten the edge for running backs. Full sustain mode closes door once his hands lock in. Ready and willing to bury his man. Plays under squared pads as a climbing blocker. Athleticism for smooth drift from block to block on second level. Quick to set out on wide-angle rushers and close the distance. Keeps hands back until his target is within range. Strong, sure hands clench up and stall rush attack. Capable hand fighting to recapture control. Solid mirror and redirection
  24. We have added size and speed in the WR group this year. As much as not proven, I still think it ends up surprising people. Every day I kept seeing national writers say how bad we will be , some guy on PFN states we will be lucky to win 3 games. With the upgrade in the secondary, it will make these WRs better, it works both ways. An easier schedule, better coaching, a surprising defense, I find it hard to believe we dont beat the hell out of Vegas's projection of 5.5 games wins.
  25. Someone suggested he may have covid and I don't think the bears can mention that .Which means another day or at the most a week. I think once hitting starts , Jenkins will be more noticed.
