I think he attacks the Oline in free agency and Defense in the draft.

Something Adam brought up before is when vets get released after FAgency, we are first on the waiver wire to pick up players . There should be a few gems there. I think Poles and Cunningham have the KC-Eagles heritage and will do a good job to upgrade the roster. So many places to add talent. I seen where (PFF grading?) had Jones ranked 20 out of 84 OTs. Jenkins was ranked 3 out of 68 OGs We have a solid foundation to rebuild the OL in Free agency. Impatiently waiting for free agency to start.

I'm impressed by all the A grades, hard to do on PFF. Don't always understand their grading system but its something to measure players with.
-
Last years NFL rosters were 1/3 UDFAs. Most on that list will be late round picks but everyone of them will be signed to contracts. Diabrate and Mapu are interesting prospects.
-
Greg Gabriel was talking about the chances of getting DeRon Payne. Washington has cap problems but they can save 26 million by just cutting Carson Wentz without penalty. The key for them is the DL situation where next year they need to pay their DEs. Do you want to stick that much money in the DL.

Its nice projecting stuff but have no idea how and who does well at the next level. Parsons is the last under sized edge rusher to have great praise. He has 149 tackles, 26.5 sacks, 56 QB hits, 33 TFL 6 FF, 6 PD, 3 FR in two years. He is the same size as Will Anderson. I'll take the stud pass rusher. I agree with the stats are bullshit but sometimes there not.
-
The article makes some good points but great players transcends schemes. Lets say we pass on Anderson and he gets 14 sacks. We take Tyree Wilson ( better fit for defense) and he gets 8 sacks. That's not a win.

I think the first 3 picks are spot on. DL, DE, and OL. I think they bring in a RT in free agency but bring in a Cody Mauch that could play multiple positions to cover is someone fails on the line. 8 top 103 players would be awesome.
-
If they use the value system, it will only grab you a second round pick for Houston to move one spot. I would say a bidding war gets you multiple this year and something next year. I doubt it would be a one though. So 2 nd a 4 th and second next year. Then Colts give you a second and a 3rd rounder this year and next years 3rd.. Carolina grab you another second round and a first next year. Grab Tyree Wilson. 9 th pick, 3 seconds, 2 thirds , 2 4ths. Next a one, A second and a 3rd.

Poles did Quinn a favor, he's in the Super Bowl. He has a good game and someone is paying a 1 year, 8 mil contract. Good for him.
-
Poles left an out with his contract, 500,000 dead cap hit if cut. He's smart enough to know that didn't work out. I think he wanted him to bring some attitude to the line. Ended getting that from Jenkins. Mustifer and Eiselen need to be resigned but Kramer is still here. Mauch would be a perfect selection, he can fill in anywhere that a player doesn't work out. I think he goes in the second round. I don't think he counts on any rookies to start on the line this year and brings in free agents for the OL.
-
I like Kincaid but not in the top 10. He could still be available in the second round if we pick up a higher pick there. In one month we will know more with FAgency.
-
It would be a surprise but he could be counting on Patrick to play OC next year. He liked him but injuries affected his year. I think he brings in a FA to stabilize the line. Patrick and Kramer give us good depth.

Right you are, every draft has a few high rated draft picks drop to the 4 th round.A good place to get some extra picks for teams focused on a certain player. Last year Dameon Pierce--Romeo Doubs-Zach Tom--Daniel Bellinger all were 4 th round.
-
If we can trade from 1 to 2, 2 to 4 then to 11. That would be unprecedented. To drop from 4 to 11 , that would be expensive. Make them throw in Harold Landry, injury last year but if medical is good, A top pass rusher in the league. 12_sacks in 2021.

Was looking at PFF contract projections. We could add McGary/13 mil a yr, Pocic/7 mil, and Ben Powers/9 mil and have a dominant OL for yrs to come. Figure Patrick, Borom, J Carter and a rookie as backups. Leatherwood will have spring training to prove himself. Still have money for a DL add.
-
Seen a story by Fishburn stating the Bears will attack the Oline in free agency. I have always believed that. They need the line to be good now, not let rookies develop. McGary and Pocic here we come.
-
Brad Briggs was talking to a couple of bears scouts at the senior Bowl and they stated they had a couple of other OCs rated higher than J M Schmitz. If true, who? I think maybe Steve Avila may be one. Played OC before moving to OG this year. Versatile and big man. Olu Oluwatimi seems to be very smart and their team leader at Michigan last year.

I just seen a stat posted where Will Anderson had 207. pressures in 3 years at Alabama. Amazing stat.

I like Swiftys take on players. I'll take Amy of the first 10 in the draft. https://youtu.be/WSNQAr58ezI

I'm not sure how realistic OTC website is but I use them on players values.

As much as mock drafts are interesting, the draft will be defined by who we get in free agency. Sure we can acquire a (DT) (edge), (OL) in free agency and still draft the same but I think Poles is selective with his additions. Our biggest (needs) are DL, OL and then add playmakers. He's going to play chess on how he assembles the roster. Sure every position can be addressed but he started last year with the rebuild. Playmakers could be Luke Musgrave instead of a WR . A Tank Dell instead of a top rated WR. A Devon Achane/ speed RB. Don't underestimate the fact he liked Patrick as a OC last year and could figure him there again plus a drafted player to compete with. Keep Whitehair until J Carter develops. I think he will get a RT either with a FA or high draft pick. I expect Velus Jones to have more of an impact next year. He showed some wow plays the last few games. Has big plans for Chase Claypool, and we don't add a high drafted WR. Don't think he has given up on Ebner yet either. We just don't know how Poles will play this.

I've been to 27 countries but never been to Chile. Peru, Venuzalua, Colombia are the only South American countries I've been to. I would like to hit 50 before I die but every year gets more expensive to travel, probably won't make that. Chile always intrigued me.

Heard Greg Gabriel talk about the draft process. All of these all star games are basically 10% of the evaluation of prospects. It helps small school players get noticed. They get to see their work ethic, competitive nature, and compatibility. All things to look at. Most of grade is season long tape. We look at many sports journalists views when a lot of it is distracting at times. Retired scouts and former players seem to be better at valuing prospects. I also like listening to Matt Bowen, smart guy. He was talking about Sydney Brown/S from Illinois. Not rated high but has everything you want at FS. He compared him to Mike Brown. I'm all in on him becoming a Bear. I don't think we're taking a WR with a high pick, so interested in Poles finding a stud with the second tier of wide outs.

A couple I liked was Darnell Wright, RT from Tennessee and Tank Dell WR from Houston. Wright last year in 12 games, 5 QB hurries, 2 QB hits , no sacks. I think in practice, the only player to get past him was Will McDonald once. Not as big as Jones but a huge man. Watching tape on Tank Dell and he is almost impossible to stop and no one can block him. Perfect slot WR, because of his size may be around in the 4th.probably goes in the third round.
