When Miller got traded he had 4.5 sacks and 19 tackles, a little better than Quinn. Had a more consistent history.

Were going to beat Dallas Sunday and in the playoff hunt in the mediocre National League. Man we're going to miss those 8 tackles and 1 sack. MAYBE NOT

Poles came into a bad situation. No first round pick and terrible roster. Cap space sucked and I think he has managed it well. His philosophy is not a one year fix. Build thru the draft and not bring in any high paid FAs that would effect you down the road. He put the team in a favorable position next year. So far this year , his draft has looked promising. He went with best player available theory. I think his rebuild is a 3 yr plan. In his first year at 3-4 i think its hard to grade him yet. The end of the year will give a better measurement of his progress. There is 3 games we had a chance to win at the end of the game. A few bad plays took those away from us. Now the work he has done show great progress in beating NE at home. We dominated them. Just think if we have that kind of game against Dallas. Boy will the narrative change.

Yes they do, the first position I would upgrade is OC. That play was terrible but if you look at the whole game tape, it was actually his best game he played all year.

The #1 take from the game is we are more physical than our opponents. Lots of Patriots limped off the field. As Fields gets better ,this game plan is how we are going to win games, have Justin running. There was 8 QB runs in the game besides his break down runs. You take the risk of injury but he avoided big hits most of the plays. We got confidence in this game which is huge for the young players. We are still going to have issues with other teams pass rushes but if you got Fields on the move it will cut down the effectiveness. Judon was a beast just like Parsons will be. Judon actually has more sacks than Parsons. Our DBs are getting better as we go forward. Dallas will be similar except with a better passing game. If we are more physical than Dallas and run the ball well, we have a chance. The Patriots had a very good running game and it was impressive that we held them to 70 yds. If we have sustained drives that eat up clock , you keep the other team off of the field. What was impressive about this victory, is we were on the road. NE is not a difficult place to play but we over came that. Against Dallas, run the ball, keep Fields on the move and beat the other team up and we have a chance to win.

Most big trades or paying FAs aren't worth it. That is one thing I like about Poles is not taking the risk involved in those kind of deals that th your team down for yrs to come. Even thou its going to take a few yrs. His FAs have been it and a miss but no one got a big contract.

Im not sure the regime is quite ready to go all in on being a top 5 pick just yet. In the long run a good pick would be more valued but if we can get a upset in one of the next two games, I think they still can reach 7-8 games that would look good at this stage of the season. I think the rebuild is positive, we lost 3 games on 3 players muffing their assignment. There is no guarantee that we would have won those games, but we would have definitely had a shot. The narrative would be different right now if we we 3-3 or 4-2 but it didnt happen. I think when we were a few plays away for a winning record that we are closer to a better team than being a top 5 pick.

I dont remember for sure but didnt everyone want Leno gone? I know I did. He can get all of the decent PFF numbers but the eye test said you wanted better. Now the problem with installing rookies at that position there is a learning curve that looks bad to. Unless you have a top 15 pick and put him at LT , they all look bad in their first year, we just dont get to see it. Many high picks havent looked good but people seem to just say (he's young) but hammer a late round pick mainly because he struggles. We have no idea if Jones will ever be good but he has a learning curb to , just need the eye test to see progress. I think the coaching staff just needs to chip and have help for him basically all the time which limits our O but I find it necessary. We will know by the end of the year, but Fields may not be QBing then because of injury. Not sure if the new lineup will be better, but you have to try something because the previous line up wasnt working.

The Rams seen like the one that goes all in to get back to SB. SF doesn't have any draft picks left after the McCaffrey trade. None of he contenders right now have a lot of cap space. Philly, Dallas, Chargers all have pass rushers in place. TB or GB , don't see that happening.
