Pace is not alone in bad decisions. I understand all his moves but Jimmy.
-
I choose MT first because we can't afford their contracts. It would wipe out all other positions for decent free agents.
-
I hope he does well and give him cudos for last year but that isn't his statistical history.
-
I'm an optimist but I'm in the same lane with you now. The Graham grab is so not a good idea.
-
With this move , we have 10 TEs in the house. Get rid of Burton as a June 1 cut , I think we pick up 5 mil and use that money on another position. Cut Braunnecker and Shaheen and we pick up 3 more mil there. The only salvation with Graham is if he gives us a red zone target and gets us 8 to 10 TDs.
-
I don't see us signing or trading for anyone with a large money payout. Mariota and Keenum gone. We are running out of options. If we end up being all in on MT at least get a decent #2. If it ends up forcing us to use one of our 2nd round picks on a QB as a #2 it's better than sitting on a fat contract. Grab Sudfeld now let's run with it. I would suspect him and Flip had a good relationship and would want to come here.
-
This structuring of his contract makes him a cheaper option than what they would have paid for Kwit.
-
I hear Hopkins and O'Brien had a bad relationship but they could definitely find a better deal than an expensive David Johnson contract being included. I think they get a second round pick also which nabs them a good WR prospect.
-
I can see them trying to obtain him but not at 21 mil a year. I think they talked to his agent and someone run with the story they are signing him.
-
THIS, also Kwit, before last year , would have never commanded more than a 3 or 4 money in a new contract. The risk is does he play like last year or his career before when he couldn't win a starter job.
-
If they wanted to kick the tires on him for 4 or 5 mil on 1 yr , I would understand but with limited cap space, this is absolutely a desperate move. The Packers were hurting for pass catchers last year and he had 38 receptions with Rodgers. There is nothing here that's tells me, he will be better than that now. He wasn't even a red zone target for Aaron. Pace must have the beer virus. I would rather prefer Horsted with upside given his snaps. This tells me Pace only has 1 year left at his job. Other than Paces ties with NO, who ever thought this was a good idea should be fired now.
-
I could see that. Do a Cris Long option. Accept or be cut.
-
Boy I am cautious when the information doesn't come from the leading bears beat guys That would be the surprise move. If true how much they have to pay? Also think MT would be gone and cap hit is 9 mil. If they did this I would say they have to have MT trade on the menu
-
With the new CBA I read where if we designated Leno for a June cut we could save 8 mil in cap space. Also would apply to Button with I think they would get 5 mil back. I think everyone they get will be 2nd tier free agents. The wild card is what they pay at QB. As much as I want Leno gone, I think they keep him and draft a OT in the second. Let him fill the RG spot and then dump Leno next year.I think getting rid of Burton would be a better move and one high and hope of their 8 TEs contribute. With the new CBA also we should have 10vmore in cap but half of that has to to the lower half of the roster as everyone gets a 200, 000 raise.
-
As far as trades, I think Pace could work out something to trade but as far as Carr's 22 mil a yr doesn't fit our cap . That would mean MT would have to go and who is going to trade for him? As far as Dalton , paying 17 mil for the backup doesn't feel logical and his salary doesn't fit our cap either.
-
Shows everyone the over cost of signing free agents. Good for him bad for anyone needing a QB right now. So our options are: Keenum Sudfeld Matt Moore Outside shot Mariota Anyone want a jeff Driscol?
-
I don't see us drafting a S or CB with either of our 2nd picks. I think OL and OLB will be the first 2 but could be a speedy WR slips in there. I also see us grabbing a TE in the 4th. That is around there where you can still get a decent prospect that could contribute. 2A- OL 2B- OLB 4--TE If one of those top WRs drop to us I can see us grabbing one there. Honestly I hope we trade back with both our picks so we end up with 4 in top 100.
-
He would be a good choice, he may be gone by our 43rd pick but since S is not a need so I doubt they use one of our first 2 picks for a Safety. Good news with the CBA the 30% rule no longer exists so that means Leno could be let go with a 8 mil cap savings if they designate him a june 1 cut. NY may win his bet after all.

Being in Thailand,( 12 hours difference in time, I missed seeing that HaHa is coming back. I'll have to check that out. Personally I think he is not the best fit for the SS role in this defense but it will okay if he's back.
-
I think they move on from HaHa. He played well but I think he doesn't fit the ideal SS role on our team and that was why Jackson didn't have good numbers. . I will give you this argument. It was dump of ME to suggest that we need Ss . I read where 90% of the NFL teams only carry 2 safeties on their roster. I don't know why I always question your wisdom, your always right.

In free agency so far: Released Gabriel and Prince Signed Tre Robinson, Demetrious Harris, Trevathan and RRH. What do they do next? Probably release Floyd
-
He got a 21.4 mil deal for 3 years. That's more than I expected but not only a good player but a defensive leader. I read where they offered a contract to Kwit first but he turned them down. So that means they offered him 7 mil a year. I can't see him getting much more than that. Also they tendered RRH at 3.4 mil which would return a 2nd round pick if someone would sign him
-
To be honest I don't remember what your opinions on MT and Cutler were so I'm not sure how that bothers me. Everyone has differences of opinions, no problem with that but for example, as on this thread you say something dumb like SS is not a need that I call you out on. Then you say this thread is about (theme of most expensive free agents )with a heading of (free agent thoughts. ) I just call you out when you say dumb things. Don't take it personal , I'm not saying everything you say is dumb, just once in awhile you make odd statements. You have some spot on comments. I give you credit when you make a good call. Also you state that you don't agree with me on a bidding war on FA Ss will I clearly state we will only be going after 2 nd tier players. Just focus a little and you will able to make rational comments and we won't be having these throwing darts at each other all the time.

Now bring back KLP and we'll be set at ILB.
