  1. Flus is big on TOs and Jackson was playing at a pro bowl level. I think he's here one more year. Whitehair may be the gone, if he can get a replacement of equal talent. If post June cut he only cost 4.7 mil. He may find a vet for 10 mil , the savings if cut. We have a lot of holes to fill not sure he wants to create more holes, we need to be more competitive with 2 yrs left on Justin's contract. Bengals added 3 new starters this yr and there were still bad but are starting to play better now. It just takes some time even with upgrades. Just seen B Jones, Gordon, and Brisker made the all rookie team.
  2. Like AZ mentioned, I don't think Poles takes on a big contract for an aging veteran. DeBuckner and Nelson are paid a lot. Both have fallen off from their original status. Nelson will cost a dead cap hit of 24 mil if traded because he got a new contract last year. Are they better than what we have, absolutely. He mentioned Alec Pierce, he's young and cheap and Kenny Moore on his last year of deal. Both would be a nice addition. Not sure if Pierce will be a #1 but will upgrade the WR room. 41-593-2.
  3. Of course, my point is the season ended 5 minutes ago and he's working.
  4. Poles have already started the 2023 roster by signing ESB for next year. Also signed 9 future contract players. Dauice Fountain/WR Donovan Jeter/DL Chase Allen/TE Asian Colbert/CB Kuony Deng/LB Kellen Diesch/OL Geri Green/DL Jack Tonges/TE Nsimba Webster/WR
  5. Glad to see it for Roquans sake. Roquans a stud but we will get similar production for under 1 million a year, Jack Sanborn. I don't think Poles is ever going to be like Pace handing out big money contracts to everyone.
  6. Not sure he trades for any player with that kind of contract that Nelson has. 12, 25,22,24 over the next 4 years. That's LT money for a RG with Jenkins looming as a the long term starter. Like AZ suggested, ask for Alec Pierce, young and cheap with potential. I think there is only a few positions he pays big money for, QBs , LT , pass rushers.
  7. I think you're spot on. Poles comes across to me as being smart. Since he has identified his QB, its obvious that he needs a better OL and a pass rush. I think he attacks the OL in free agency instead of a few high draft picks and then go thru their growing pains. He let Daniels walk planning on the Ryan Bates experiment, that didn't work out. Bates has played well this year so he identified the right person anyways. He may let Whitehair go if he can upgrade with a valued vet. He will draft one that can play several spots in case a vet fails, can plug in and play. He will bring in 4 new starters on the front 7, A few FAs and then a couple draftees. This year was an evaluation time for him. I don't think he values the LB position as high. Maybe Morrow will be back or a Bobby Okereke that played under Flus in the same system. He'll bring in a CB but I think all the starters are all ready here. He'll bring Pringle back and grabs a Darius Slaton type to compete with V Jones in the slot. Then drafts one. I think he keeps Monty on a team friendly deal and brings in a rookie to compete with Ebner at RB 3. He'll bring in another TE but Kmet is the main target. The key to a winning season will be because of the growth of Fields.
  8. I think Poles won't wait for a couple draft picks on there learning curve. I think he brings in 2 vets to stabilize the OL right now. I think Jenkins still has questions, he had back problems and now with his neck. But he still has Patrick if healthy can replace Jenkins if he don't work out. I think Whitehair stays this yr unless J Carter is ready to play. He has Patrick and Kramer to back up at OC.
  9. Ill stick this here. https://twitter.com/CHGO_Sports/status/1612575868861272065?s=19
  10. Lots of OTs as second and third round prospects after the first two first rounders. Doubt he takes one with the first pick.
  11. Velus will have a fit next year. He'll never be a target leader but will have 1 or 2 big plays a game. He will force DCs to pay attention to him. He'll prove to be a playmaker. Most draft picks don't shine their first year in the league.
  12. Like all those ideas. I think it's paramount for the OL to be better so I think they add 2 veterans to the OL. New OC and RT then still draft a OL to add depth and groom to the over for a vet (not with the first few picks)
  13. They will draft a TE but not until late. To many holes to fill before they get to the. TE room. Rookie TEs rarely go off their first year. Having said that I would love to draft Dalton Kincaid. Awesome hands.
  14. Where there could be a problem, it 2 or 3 QBs emerge as good and different teams want different QBs Everyone knows the Bears ain't drafting a QB. So that could screw up the trade scenarios.
  15. Lovie needed to go at the time they let him go. When he got his new contract he wanted control of personal. They brought some players in that Lovie wanted that didn't work out. It was a power struggle, GM usually wins.
  16. It will be defined this year, if Claypool plays well, it's a win. If not a mistake.
  17. Poles deserves an A+ for getting us 115 mil in cap and setting us up to get the #1 pick. Been listening to the SCORE and some Bears fans want Poles fired. This is what you have to do to rebuild the proper way. We just are use to developing players and rebuilding the roster completely.
  18. Are anyone up for having teams throw players in the trades? Indy has DeBuckner or Michael Pittman Jr they could throw in. Is Pittman the big WR we're missing? DeB has at least 2 good years left.
  19. I think he made the decision for two reasons. He wanted to bring in a WR to bond with Fields and help his development, plus free agency didn't have a great group of WRs. I don't think he thought we would be 4-13 that would be more of around pick 10-15.it would have made the trade less significant.
  20. When you assess Poles job, you have to look at it overall and he put us at this spot where we have money and the first pick. We haven't won since he traded Roquan. If Claypool has a good year in 2023, the trade will be lauded not criticized.

When the bears remodeled Soldiers field before, they said to put a Dome on it it would eliminate more seats to do. I like the idea of being in Arlington Heights, closer to Machesney Park where I live. Brand new and Dome. That video is a joke, lightfoot spends money on a hype video to pretend she tried to keep the Bears in Chicago. To do that you would have to tear it down and build new from ground up. Remember they went to her first and when she said the city government didn't have the money to spend on a Stadium because it had to spend it on correcting the crime problem in Chicago.
  22. We could trade back and still get a top 5 pick. Lovie must still be a bears fan.
  23. Woke up to Houston, 4th and 20, was about to be bummed out. Not now. Not sure I can go back to sleep. 13 hours difference in Thailand. I hate when we lose, it normally bums me out for the day but this year is different. We won the lottery. Can't be upset about that.
  24. I did one mock where I had 4 trade backs and ended up with pick 20 and 8 top 102 picks. Drafted JS-N/WR and Darrel Wright/RT. Siaki Ika/DT, Dalton Kincaid/TE, Andre Carter ll/DE, Devon Achane/RB, Luke Wypler/OC, Tuli Tuipulotu/DT.
  25. He will surprise us, we can count on that. Here's a perfect draft in my opinion with no trades. ( used PNF simulator) Will Anderson/ DE. Best edge player in draft Cedric Tillman/WR big WR with 4.4 speed Jaclyn Duncan/OT athletic T that can play either side Mazi Smith/DT big productive NT Tuli Tuiplotu/DT stud DT 12 sacks this year Chase Brown/RB 3 down back Luke Margrave/TE speed 4.57 Keion White/DE stud win 44 pressures and 7 sacks this year.
