Adams had a good year, why would they get rid of him no matter who the QB is. LV was bad this year, cheaper to get rid of coach than players. They will make some changes but don't think its Adams leaving. They have 35 mil next year in cap space, but they will have difficulty going forward, I think they make a few changes and run it back again.

My Soapbox
Its quite simple, A lot of it is because TV pays big money for the NFL and the league caters to them . The NFL is king but college football is not far behind , they both have big egos and do what they want. Them getting together on game changes are unlikely.

Week 17 Official Game Thread CHI at DET, SUN 1/1, 12PM, FOX, DET -6.5, O/U 50
Actually in the beginning of the year before the two veterans were signed he was lining up at RG. Then once they tried Jenkins there, they found their RG. All of that depends on what Poles decides to do with Patrick. He is signed to 2023 but can be let go 1/2 mil dead cap.plus he drafted Kramer that was on IR all year. I think Kramer will probably be a Mustifer type , very average. There are several OCs rated in the top 100 in the draft but I would rather they use at other positions. We have 4 picks in top 101. I prefer they sign Pocic, keep Patrick as backup ( 3 position) keep Kramer around on the practice squad . Patrick will be gone after 2023. I hear Bear writers keep saying Mustifer is playing better but haven't noticed that in games.

Only pick a TE as a mid round pick unless getting a bunch of picks when trading back nets us 6 or 7 top 100 picks. Kincaid would be a nice add thou. He has great hands.

One signing that Poles got was a CB Michael Ojemudia from the Broncos. He had a good rookie season, was injured last year but with the new regime got lost in this years DB room with the drafting of Patrick Sutain Jr Swifty did a video on him, I think he sticks around on the roster in 2023.

Fields compared to other QBs
His first year was a train wreck with those coaches, it is more fair to consider this as his rookie year. 3 things that tell me he will be a top 5 QB. He is getting better as the year goes on, he has great work ethic and he loves football. Plus he's the fastest QB in the league with great rushing ability. In 2 years he will be all pro. He will improve even if we have the same OL and WR group next year but we know it will be better. Add another # 2 WR, a vet OC and vet RT . We are still going to be a run heavy O but the passing game will improve to 250 - 275_yrs per game average. We will be Top 12 offense next year.

As much as I would take any upgrade, I thing Poles waits for a younger wr like Higgins or Juedy before he makes the big move at WR. One that wants big money that team won't be able to match. Which means we have to wait a year for the guy.

As much as we always are trying to replace Mustifer, he keeps his job by being healthy. I think he may be here next year but hopefully the backup. Dieter is a great story hope he succeeds.

I agree plus Adams age and contract would not be practical. I would rather they trade Waller and Crosby plus pick. Waller is a playmaker to. Both are still young.

Hopefully it works out but it may not. Him getting injured didn't help the look. The move didn't change the fact we're bad this year, as a fresh start with new bodies I think it will look better.

Draft Slot Tracker (thru Week 15)
Because of the value of the second pick, it makes it look bad but if we didn't do it you would have to think he would have took a WR. If you compare Claypool's traits to who would be available at that spot, you would easily take Claypool instead. The top 3 or 4 will be gone. Plus Quintin Johnston has the same traits that Claypool has, size and speed, if you think he is the best WR in the draft. It gave a chance for Fields and Chase to bond, but injuries derailed that. The only way it is a terrible trade is if you get no production out of Claypool next year. That hasn't happened yet.

Tight End Thread (Kmet Impressive?)
Kincaid is a stud TE in receiving. Great hands, if we cant get a #1 type WR this yr another TE that can be a playmaker would be great. On Tankathon's big board he is ranked around pick 56 (where we are picking). If we trade back with extra picks, he should be a target, if straight draft I expect a OL or DL to be picked there. Maybe WR but Kincaid could have a bigger impact. Kmet is above average and the only reason his stats are not better is a lethargic passing game.

Those are the only two WRs worth going after in FAgency. KC will have a hard time playing JuJu a good contract and Meyers is in NE, so they dont pay anyone.

I always hated that, losing by a small margin when one player difference played would have mattered.

Brown is the best tackle available in FA, KC has 28 mil in cap space, not sure if they let him walk. He may stay for less money to be on a SB contending team that will leave him at LT. This yr Brown has had 6 penalties' and 4 sacks, overall rating 73,5. Kaleb McGary is available and has 4 petalites and given up 4 sacks, has a rating of 83, He is already a RT and should be gotten for less money than Brown. Andrew Wylie is KCs RT this yr, I dont belong to PFF so I cant find his numbers but he would come a lot cheaper and KC probably not going to pay both OTs to stay. Poles has some RT options so I think he finds someone to compete with Leatherwood for the starter position. As of now, I see Jenkins at RG and Jones are LT as the sure starters on the line, he may keep Whitehair at LG to provide vet leadership for the young guys. The wildcard is getting a healthy yr out of Patrick and where he might play him. He can play OC or LG is he chooses to go cheaper with letting Whitehair go. I suggested Andre Hillard , he played LT for Philly in a limited capacity and was a high pick. I can see him bringing someone like that because of the knowledge Cunningham has being with the Philly organization. Seems like a move Poles would take a chance on.

Holy Cow Zach Wilson/Tua/Russell Wilson are bad
Its hard to judge the QB position , one yr they look good and the next the (what were they thinking). As much as Fields has progressed, I think being in the right situation and the right coaching and its some kind of blend that makes it work. Look at Mayfield, seems to be working out for him with a good coach. Having a high pick could see our franchise up for many yrs. One more win by Houston and we could be in the Superbowl in 2 yrs if Poles is good at his job.

Holy Cow Zach Wilson/Tua/Russell Wilson are bad
Im trying to survive 0 degrees but will be in Thailand for the winter in 4 days. 69-95 every day of the yr there. I think Wilson doesnt have much help from their coaches but he was on his way down before he got traded. To think we could have been burdened with him if Pace could have got them to trade.

Draft Slot Tracker (thru Week 15)
For sure they wont be there at pick 2 but if we trade back we might have a shot. To early to take in the top 10 . Seen Tuli ranked anywhere from 39 to 103 and Ika between 38 and 56. I just like better than taking Carter at 2 for upside.

What's Best for 2024?...
Dont think we start out with a new WR, I think the trade he made for Claypool is the best option at this time. Maybe on a trade back in the draft with a Indy (throw in Pittman Jr) something like that on draft day but think we dont go into 2023 with a #1 in the WR room.

Draft Slot Tracker (thru Week 15)
I would prefer to take the risk on Anderson or Murphy in taking a player that high instead of Carter. Im not sure who on here introduced me to Tankathon,( I think if was AZ) but they have a lot of good content. My preference in this draft is to draft a NT like Siaki Ika / 6'4 358 two gap eater and a DT like Tuli Tulptuloti / 44 ts and 12.5 sacks to man our interior.

Week 16 Official (ICE BOWL) Game Thread - BUF @ CHI, 12PM, SAT, 12/24, CBS, BUF -8.5, O/U 40.5
As we watch backups to the backups play, we were in the game with 10:03 left 21-13. The Oline actually got a decent grade from PFF (just something to measure with). The only 2023 starter playing was B. Jones. Our DBs continue to show promise with no pass rush. Jaylon Jones, and Josh Blackwell will be on this team next yr. V Jones will get chances to show his worth, someone with his speed will not be discarded like an old pair of socks. Because were losing, we have a negative look on all that's going on here but I think we have something building here with the young guys. Rookies that are going to be on team next yr. Brisker/ S Gordon /CB Jaylon Jones/CB Josh Blackwell/CB Elijah Hicks/S Jack Sanborn/LB Sterling Weatherford/LB waiting to see him get some playing time. Dom Robinson/DE J Carter/LG lost in the depth chart , gaining strength will put him in for more playing time. B. Jones/LT bright spot Tent Gill/ Punter bright spot V Jones/ WR bad first yr but still has speed Tris Ebner/RB bad first yr Erik Kramer/OC been on IR all yr. I suspect he projects out as a Sam Mustifer. I think if a GM has 13 rookies making the roster in the first yr, that is a good sign. 5 of them has made an impact. Brisker-Gordon-Sanborn-Gill-B Jones

I probably should have phrased it better, I dont remember saying they are big contracts except for Davenport. Hillard is the type of player that had some good moments as a backup and is injured this yr. but is young with potential that Poles might sign. Comes from a great OL atmosphere but not meaning he gets a big contract. Davenport has played bad this yr, 2021 is more what to expect from him. 9 sacks, 16 QB hits, 9 TFL, 3 forced fumbles. He started the yr on the PUP list and have had nagging injures all yr. Even though he hasnt earned a big contract, his traits , upside, and youth will gain him a lot of money. I suspect a 10-12 mil a yr, the best in the league make over 20 mil a yr. I may not have all the names right but my point is what Poles will be investing in in FAgency. It will be on the line, both OL and DL. I dont see CB or TE in that mix as go to signings.

Draft Slot Tracker (thru Week 15)
If you watch highlights of Jalen Carter, he is a beast but to be honest, his stats are very mediocre. I like drafting players that were highly productive, can anyone explain the generational tag placed on Carter? My favorite tape to watch is Tuli Tuipulotu, he has 11.5 sacks this year. 21 tfl, 44 Ts, and 2 FFs. I don't get it.

I think one thing is for sure, Lovie is not going to try to lose. Winning is all that matters to him.

What's Best for 2024?...
Their isn't any in FAgency this yr and our first pick in the draft is not going to be a WR , so our pick in round 2 probably don't have any #1s at that slot. 2024 FAs include Jerry Jeudy, Higgins and Pittman Jr. Better shot at a stud.
